don't really understand why. Their points total on the spread firms has barely moved
Pompey in the Championship however... |

I don't hate Sunderland to be fair. Should be easier for them to get 48 points than the totals needed for most of the others.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Europa League Champions (rofl) most of last season in the PL. Got to feel for Posta, gets sacked for actually delivering any trophy; a really big deal for the long suffering supporters.

All the man utd Yankees and lucky 15s hitting the
shops except they are patents and trixies this year, forcing the bookies to hedge into betfair meerkat. Still a 4 way go for me, forget the rest (as title winners) Likely ends up a head to head, or even a cake walk like last year. |

Newcastle are likely to lose Isak so not that big a surprise Man U are projected to finish higher in the league and Howe keeps losing out on targets to other clubs, look like going into the new season without a recognised striker as they let Wilson go as well, feels like momentum is going against them and hard to see them finishing top 6 atm as much as I'd like to see them finish above Man United who are in the process of flushing all the bad toxic influences out of the club, that and the fact they have no European football at all - that's what helped Chelsea win the league under Conte not having to play 2 games a week, not that United are going to win the league but it's funny seeing everyone debating if they'll finish top half, last year was just a freak season. Like Chelsea if you throw enough money at something eventually you will get it right. Newcastle are a victim of time, they should have been taken over years ago by some oligarch or Oil baron and was always surprised they werent until recently, I don't know what the reason was, not like the weather is much better in Manchester or Liverpool. By all accounts Newcastle is a better city for nightlife. I'd also have thought the Saudi's would have got around PSR somehow like the Chavs, have to wonder if they are as keen to dominate as what they said they were. Kind Regards.

Arsenal still 2/1 favs - Liverpool 11/5 |

An expectant Arsenal have had a good start. Can't ask for any more. Liverpool on the other hand are leaking which, if they don't stop, will give Arsenal a big upper hand. City looked ordinary at the weekend and surprisingly, wasn't too hard to beat.
Arsenal looking worthy favourites after 2 games. |
|
By:
Yeah, Arsenal are worthy favs for me at the moment. The stability will prove their advantage I think. I'm a Liverpool fan, but it looks very leaky at the moment, and while the quality will prove too strong in nearly all games, it's looking like there will be too many losses to win the league this year.

The early injuries at Arsenal has sort of reminded me that was a significant issue last season. I hope it's not a case of deja vu. The PL winner always has a good season re no injuries. Too early to write off Liverpool, one of the features last season was how strongly they finish matches. Along with Man City all three squads look excellent this season. Is there a chance Man City will get hit with a points deduction re FFP irregularities, or have they been given a free pass?

Questions about them all.
Still don't understand why City are so short. The Pep era just looks done to me. Arsenal have had a very good summer, got two decentish wins but I think the reaction is slightly OTT. Beating Utd is no feat any more. They're really quite a bad team. And Leeds are relegation certs. Six points out of six is never to be sniffed at but bigger tests await. And as Storm says, they're once again picking up injuries. Something is clearly not quite right with the conditioning there. Liverpool also have six points but look weak at the back. To be fair they've got two new full backs to bed in, and added an out-of-position midfielder to the mix v Newcastle. But to me the midfield balance isn't quite right, it's a bit too attack-minded and is leaving gaps. Hardly an insurmountable problem though. I'd probably still have Liverpool favourites due to the Arsenal injury concerns, but my main thought is that nothing much has changed in my opinions on the contenders after two games. |
