PP,
What price you reckon someone would have to lay United at top 6 pre sesason once the market is up and running.? |
By:
13/8 ish
By:
2/1 Liverpool to win it is not good, the first thing anyone should be doing when considering backing Liverpool for the league is to assume that Salah is going to regress and then consider what price they should be.
Liverpool 21/10 Arsenal 5/2 City 11/4 Newcastle 16/1 Chelsea 20/1 United 33/1 Gut feeling is that City would be the best value out of the front 3, the worst price there is clearly Newcastle who have reached their limit and can't improve past where they are currently 16/s is horrible, neutrals would clearly be interested in both Chelsea and United because there is a possible route to big improvement that could make a mockery of their original price and provide a big trading opportunity. |

What price will you give me on Newcastle v man utd season
match bet, if I give man utd a half point start? |
By:
city have 13 points to make up on liverpool who did not win any of last 4 coz they had already won it. they also had 17 plus gd on them
cant see them being value at all given liverpool will improve through good recruitment and selling strategy.. 9/4 liverpool is defo the bet at this stage along with lays of city and gooners at the prices. point about salah is pure conjecture and total bollocks .... he may even improve. |
By:
I don't think the half point makes any difference in a marathon, in a match bet it will be 1/2 Newcastle, 6/4 United IMO.
By:
Half point removes the tie in points bet.
By:
Yes it does, I was meaning in terms of pricing it up.
By:
Surely 1/2 goes with 2/1 in a match bet
None of this bookies margins malarkey |
By:
Alright, you've twisted my arm, I'll have 2/1

Salah's just had his best season in about five years. Not sure why we have to assume he'll regress. It's coming some time, but judging by the last few months it's not here yet.
Rodri coming back is the big thing for City, alongside De Bruyne leaving. If that French lad can replace big kev's creativity then they'll be ok and will have some legs again in midfield. Wingers don't look good enough for me while the back four also looks weak. Given the disruption to their pre-season with this silly thing and a big points deduction still to be decided I wouldn't back them with your money frankly. |
By:
Salah will likely regress simply by losing trents input
and they will blame his age. If Salah figures improve then EPL stays at Anfield. |
By:
Frimpong's rather attack minded and Wirtz will add a whole load of goals surely. Should be another season of over 85 goals really.
By:
had a good day at ascot. putting some of winnings on liverpool to win prem
By:
Yeah, Wirtz looks good addition,
By:
pool backed into 11/5
By:
Frimpong will keep the attacking width, allowing Salah to come inside and score buckets. And yeah, with Kirkez and Wirtz added, the overall attack gets even stronger IMO
By:
dont normally back my team as afraid of jinxing them but feel really confident for the season ahead
By:
Oscar Bobb coming back being over-looked understandably but he looked highly promising when he came into the side the season before last, he would have been a big loss last season, he'll strengthen them.
I understand that many will think the CWC will have a negative effect but don't think it will personally and the longer this whole city charges farce goes on the more you get the impression that it's going to be fudged and in the unlikely event they do get hammered it strengthens the top 6 claims for the other sides, including United. When looking at the league last season, I take the view that Liverpool beat a very bad crop whilst profitting from a players performance over and beyond the mean, Arsenal had no striker City were caught out badly with Klopp's departure not strengthening themselves and suffering key injuries, Chelsea, United and Spurs were all awful and you had a rag pushing for CL football. Probability would suggest that Arsenal who are otherwise solid will improve for an application of a striker and City will improve with the return of key players as well as new signings, probability would also suggest that it will be difficult to expect Salah to repeat last season's performances, now their new signings might all be raging successes but their price is tight based on all of that IMO |

My betting philosophy is almost always about opposing teams. I try to look for where they're weak or priced too short and then get on the other side. I just find I work better that way. So most of my bets on Liverpool have been to oppose them. The last one being the back of Brighton against them when I figured they wouldn't be at 100%. But this time around, I'm just wanting to write City off a bit given their workload for 3 or 4 weeks as well as everything else going on. Arsenal will always be a factor (though their fans have already started being defeatist and moaning about their start, gotta love em). Apart from losing Trent, Liverpool look like they're stronger than last season really so I'm ripping up my rule book by getting on them.

i think you are underestimating the gulf between liverpool and the reast last season duffy. they were streets ahead of them all in all depatments.
gonna take a lot to bridge that gap. City are in renewal and maybe have a manager whose lost his mojo. very unreliable i think Gooners are a good team but lack the winning mentality . Could be a threat but drawsagain will let them down. They are a long way off the champions who are getting a stronger squad. The rest stand no chance apart from Chelsea who maybe on an upward curbve but id be very surprised if they gert anywhere liverpool. 9/4 is a great bet |
By:
Moaning about their start, they've got a gimme on the first day ffs

At first glance the current Man City price looks very tempting but I suppose it has a substantial probability of a hefty points deduction built in?
By:
united have come in 4 points and are now 32 on here. clear 6th favs.
Villa are 100 and finished 24 points ahead of united. Spurs are 70 and they finished even further back. |
