This current Rangers team appear to be on a rapid decline, looks like Stevie G left just on time. Rank rotten tonight, struggled against Livingstone a the weekend, let a decent lead in the SPL slip last year against a ream in transition and being constructed as they went, could be out of CL after the next game. What next for the mighty Blues?

Rangers summer signings
Ben Davies £4.23M - Liverpool paid £1.6 for him, never played once for them, yet you pay over £4M? Ridvan Yilmaz £3.60m - Inexperienced 21 year old Rabbi Matondo £2.70m- Schalke04 reject, spent 3 years there and only played 31 games, loaned out.. Antonio Colak £1.89m - Couldn't hold down a place at Greek's PAOK John Souttar free transfer- Bang average Scottish Midfielder Tom Lawrence free transfer - Convicted Drink Driver and Welsh Malik Tillman loan transfer- Inexperienced 20 year old Not exactly inspiring signings considering the amount of incoming cash they have received recently, the big black hole of debt must be higher than I thought. ![]() |

At least the B team enjoyed a victory last night.
Beat Spartans 3-0 to go up into 3rd position behind Gala Fairydean and Bo'ness United. |

Aka, While you consider the post to be the most stupid on here. There cant be any denying Rangers invested heavily to stop Celtic achieving 10 in a row (and rightly so), they succeeded and then before you know it, Stevie G has packed his bags and off, investment is superseded by selling ( some of the players sold are still developing and most probably will increase in value). Rangers accumulated 25 points more than Celtic in the 2020/21 season, however even with the advantage of the settled squad , turned this into a 4 point deficit by the end of the 2021/22 season. If you want to dress it up and claim the final appearance in a bang average European competition makes up for losing the league, you can, however that would top trump any stupid post. Rangers should have lapped Celtic last year, they regressed by 13 points in what was a less competitive league and as Badjoe rightly allude, this years signings are not hugely inspiring, while the selling of some exciting young talent does not bode well for Rangers and Scottish football in general.

Rangers invested heavily to stop Celtic achieving 10 in a row - We invested but it can hardly be descibed as heavily.
and claim the final appearance in a bang average European competition makes up for losing the league, - I didn't say it made up for losing the league but it was a fantastic achievement. In over 70 years of European football Scottish clubs have only made 10 finals and the run generarated approximately £40m in extra funds for the club. selling ( some of the players sold are still developing and most probably will increase in value). whether we like it or not Scottish clubs are all selling clubs but lets look at the sales. Nathan Patterson £12m + a poss £4m in add ons + a sell on clause - Vying for the right back position with the club captain who has some of the best stats in Europe. Wasn'y happy with the position and good business for the club. Calvin Bassey £20m + a poss £3m in add ons + a sell on clause - Silly money for someone who only really settled into a game in the second half of the season and good business for the club. Joe Aribo £8m + a poss £3m in add ons + a sell on clause - In the last year of his contract and refused a new contract. WE also have a similar player in Glenn Kamara. All in all good business for te club. Thats the nature of Scottish football, always has been and always will be. As regards the players we bought only time will and again its all about levels. |

I missed out Cedric Itten who went for £1.6m but he hadn't featured for the club and was out on loan.

Looks like Morelos will feature next week against Union Saint-Gilloise.
He's been missing since undergoing thigh surgery in April but is back to full fitness now. Hopefully Ryan Kent is also available. |

when was last time he played a competitive game ? Genuine question I thought he had been out for ages, if so he'd be doing well to be ready, he does carry a bit of condition as well know

The New Edmiston House nearing completion.
It will house a club museum highlighting 150 years , and counting, of Rangers history along with a two-storey Rangers store and fantastic events space. With the refurbishment of Auchenbowie complete and the refurbishment of the stadium almost complete things are looking great both on and off the field. |

Just had a look at the betting for the league. Rangers at 13/8 seems value but a long wait for your cash if it stots in.
Having said that I will hold back at present because I genuinely don't know how good this Celtic team are. RE: at present I would go 10/11 your pick but just for the time being Celtic seem better at hammering teams in the league than us but we're still settling down and I for one have faith in our manager, (no letters required at present) ![]() |

BIG game for little sevco tomorrow. PSV are demonstrably a far better team than Union Saint-Gilloise and the fact the first game is at home, gives the Dutch a BIG advantage for the second leg. In Europe, sevco's away form is really poor, with defeats to Union Saint-Gilloise, RB Leipzig, Sporting Braga, Red Star, Malmo and Sparta Prague all coming in the last two years. PSV warmed up for the game with a BIG win against Go Ahead Eagles, thumping 5 past them,so you can expect them to turn up brimming with confidence. I think sevco will have to have a 2 goal cushion going into the 2nd leg or they could experience BIG trouble in the Netheregions.

13/8 best odds available Stew.
We meet Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday the 3rd September. Before that Celtic have Hearts (H) and Dun'Utd (A) We have Hibs (A) and Ross Co. (H) Would expect both teams on maximum points for OF game. And would fancy Rangers strongly to come out on top in that encounter. The team beginning to click with Lawrence, Matondo and Tillman looking really good signings. Hard to fault Colak with 3 goals in his last 3 games. All in all things looking great with GVB in charge. |
|
By:
The other things to take into account Stew
is that Morelos will be back to full fitnes soon and we have Roofe and Hagi still on the road to recovery. Squad looks strong just now even without them. |
