Not looking good for Rangers this coming season. Let's wait and see.. |

It's looking good Stew. Some reacting to the transfers as if its a disaster.
Aribo a good player and sad to see him go but we have ready made replacement in Kamara as seen when Aribo was moved up front. In that respect we'll have Morelos back soon and Rabbi Montodo to look forward to. Bassey another good player but with Barisic almost back to his best and Ben Davies and John Soutar both signed we've okay in that area as well. Helander and Katic still here. Won't go through all the signings (7 so far) but overall GVB has strengthened the squad. |

A few academy players looking ready to make the step up.
Leon King and Charlie McCann the best of the crop and most likely to follow in the steps of Nathan Patterson. |

Worth a listen Stew. Why it's bothered him so much is a mystery. Maybe obsession, a lot of it about. Hugh Keevins kicked him into touch. |

7.45 tonight at Ibrox
Live on Rangers tv 13/8 Rangers 23/10 Draw 13/10 West Ham Betting 2-2 at 17/2 for an interest. |

i never knew much about roofe before he arrived at Ibrox, but my brother, who is a decent judge, told me he's decent player, and then i watched a documentary of Leeds Utd under Bielsa, and Roofe was prominent in success.
likewise, he appears to have done a good job in Glasgow, but injuries come to every player late in career, and restrict performance levels. Possibly good move for all concerned, I think the new manager GVB may change the turgid strategy he inherited and possibly had to pursue short term, and by all accounts he has young players to assist the change. Time will tell. Interesting season ahead. |

Tonights team
McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Souttar, Barisic, Lundstram, Jack, Kamara, Wright, Kent, Colak. Subs: McGregor, McCrorie, Lawrence, Matondo, Sands, Katic, Kelly, Sakala, Arfield, McCann, King, Devine. |
|
By:
in fairness it's quite a strong first 11 and bench, i just wonder about how the manager will modernise the style of play with the squad, which I suspect he will or must do for his own integrity as a coach.

Aka, first and foremost I don't buy newspapers but are you getting your info from a website? If so could you give me a link please. Plus, have you ever heard of the Bluebells bar? It's on my bucket list. |

Good team performance last night in an easy 3-1 victory over West Ham.
Could have been 4 or 5 but 3 good goals from Lawrence, Kent and Motondo gave us plenty to cheer. Lost a scrappy goal that should have been disallowed. Good to see Barisic back to his assured self and Kamara, Tavernier and Motondo also excelled. Good crowd for a mid-week friendly, 34,000, but I expect a full house for Spurs on Saturday. Was also good to see Mark Warburton back at Ibrox in his capacity as a first team coach for the Hammers. |

Calvin Bassey has completed his move to Ajax.
Reputed to be £20m plus add-ons and a 10% sell on clause. Came on a ton under GVB and I'm sure every Rangers fan will wish him well. (See your DMs Stew) |

Rangers and Spurs playing for the Walter Tull Memorial Cup.
First world war British Army captain who played for both teams. Google him Stew, well worth a read. |

Rangers offering £4m for Turkish internationalist Ridvan Yilmaz.
But Besiktas want £6m for the left-back. |
|

You will get those sold players reolaced, to many are reacting on the selling for me
Lawrence is a cracking pick up on a free as well, can be petulant but he’ll score and assist in the league |

be honest and say I knew nothing of this but.. The BBC is to resume full coverage of Rangers, resolving a seven-year dispute between the corporation and the football club. It is understood that reporting restrictions on BBC journalists have been lifted by the Glasgow club. The broadcaster acknowledged mistakes in past coverage and said it was happy to repeat those apologies. Full reporting, including of manager interviews, is due to resume at the start of the new season on 30 July. The corporation and the club have been in dispute since 2015 after Rangers removed media privileges from a BBC sports journalist. In response, the BBC said it would not send any of its reporters to cover events, such as media conferences at Ibrox. |

Did BBC make a mistake and not call them SEVCO and tell the truth Rangers got liquidated and a new club was formed and jumped the queue to enter league 3 known as SEVCO ?
the old club is still in liquidation i believe and it can be resolved, sell you're assets and pay the debts and you can come out of liquidation, i won't hold my breath |
|
By:
Exactly what Derby and Wigan have done down here I think
Theyve just set a new company up and stuck the club name in it but we shoudlnt be surprised my it though |

@Brentford
It was a string of misreporting and actual lies. The BBc acknowledge this in the apology. On Wednesday, the BBC issued a statement saying the dispute had limited its ability to report and it was in the "best interests" of both its audience and Rangers supporters to resolve the issue. It went on to say it recognised that the club had "genuine concerns" about the accuracy and balance of some of its coverage. The statement added: "The BBC acknowledges that there have been occasions when parts of the coverage of Rangers FC have not met its editorial standards. It has apologised for those instances and is happy to repeat those apologies now." |
|
By:
One of the worst offenders was Michael Stewart who has had to aplogise
on at least 3 occasions. Twice for casting doubt on Morelos and Kamara when they had spoken of being racially abused and lies he told about a Rangers director. This was another which was aired just before a Rangers game. RANGERS football club have formally complained to the BBC after fans branded the Mad Men spoof scene, showing the club's manager fall to his death at Ibrox, 'disgusting' and 'unjustified'. Dozens more. |
|
By:
The McCoist spoof was the worst and yet, at the time, the BBC tried to justify it.
A filmed interview was also doctored to show Ally smirking at comments made about supporters. The BBC again acknowledged this in its apology at the time. Rangers manager Ally McCoist has welcomed an apology from the BBC after being "appalled" by the editing of his pre-match media conference during Friday's national evening news programme. McCoist was shown smirking while audio was played of a news reporter questioning him about the behaviour of supporters at Old Firm matches. |

BBC should correct their stance that rangers were not demoted, they went bust and left serious debts to HMRC and others, and formed a new club under charles green and made application to join Scottish bottom league, these are facts so it's about time BBC confirmed facts.
Rangers died, there is no 55, they are a new club. They have won one top title, petrofact cup and a Scottish cup. If you don't want to hear this pay you're debts and be rangers again. |
|

sensible to bury the hatchet and get on with balanced reporting and coverage

Heading for a sell-out on Saturday.
Limited seats available in the Bill Struth Main Stand rear and the Club Deck. |
|
By:
Not at all surprised aka... this is Spurs no less. Can you watch it?
|
|
By:
I've got Virgin and Premier Sports.
Failing that its on Rangers tv but I'd still have to pay for it even though I'm a subscriber. I knew Spurs would sell-out quite quick, the tickets only went on sale from yesterday morning. |
|
By:
That's not good if you're a subscriber. I bought the Spurs package (£45 for the year) which enabled me to see all the friendlies, plus highlights, plus other matches like the U21 etc and perhaps a few more besides, including basic content. Wouldn't normally do that but with all the new purchases we've made, I really wanted a sneak preview. Hopefully you'll be kinder to us after doing a job on West Ham.
|
|
By:
Got to see the Sunderland friendly but not West Ham.
£7.99 to watch this. |
|
By:
kin'ell, that's a wedge for a friendly. Out of principle I wouldn't pay that.
|
|
By:
Aspro, as one of the good guys on here do you mind me asking if you are going to the match?
Both clubs have something in common. Rangers hold the record for the biggest attendance for a league game. Rangers.....118,000, whereas Spurs hold the biggest ever English attendance and if I remember correctly it was 88 or 89 thousand. Both never to be beaten. Easily googled. |
|
By:
I'd love to be there stewarty, but no, I won't be attending. Only been to Scotland once, helping a mate's parents move to Oban. Loved the scenery and noticeably cooler than down here. I think we shocked a few locals when we walked in a few pubs and ordered a pint; places fell silent to our accents
![]() Interesting fact that. I knew Spurs held the record down here (courtesy of Wembley) but still dwarfed by 118k... that must have been awesome. |
|

Full-House for Saturday. Last of the tickets went this morning.
I think Gazza will be up for this. |

Rangers captain James Tavernier has agreed a new deal to extend his stay at Ibrox, with the 30-year-old right-back currently contracted until summer 2024. (Glasgow Evening Times)
Rangers have tabled a £5.4m bid and offered Besiktas a 20% sell on of any future transfer in an attempt to land 21-year-old Turkey left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, according to various reports in his homeland, but the Istanbul club are looking for a fee of around £6m. (Daily Record) Talks are ongoing with players who are entering the last year of their contracts as well. Hopefully Kent will be tied up soon. Best way to spend the transfer cash. |

The first leg of Rangers' Champions League qualifying round tie has been moved because Union Saint-Gilloise's ground does not come up to Uefa standards and will instead be played at the Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven, which is 30 miles outside of Brussels, on Tuesday, 2 August.
