Anyone know if Barry mentioned this one on forum on Sunday. I've read won't be out till new year, any reason for this. Surely needs some fencing experience despite ground conditions. Thanks

Said it will win the Arkle, maybe a tad tongue in cheek, but I do know the yard really like his chances.

Thanks Bud,I have been backing this lad for a while now. I remember the interview after he won at Aintree, they really fancy him as a chaser.

Henderson said he may now stick to hurdles as he had a setback and doesn't want a truncated novice chasing season.

Hurdles?!! After Vaniteux's run on Sunday in the Greatwood, you'd have to love the Supreme form, surely he would be a champion hurdle contender? But what prep? Try and win a Tote Gold Trophy with it, currently on 150, not insurmountable....

Surely vaniteux will be his champion hurdle horse, I hope!!!

Where did you read / hear that Cyclops? Nothing on Twitter which would normally have a rumour or two on it

Nothing in the betting on here either !

He intimated that way in his Stable Tour in the RP but definitely did not explicitly say so. Basically said he hasn't schooled yet and that it'd be interesting to see how far he could go over hurdles.
By:

Not schooled yet at all !! Is this normal if he's going chasing
By:

Can't school if he is injured,I'm sure they will have popped him over a few before then, certainly jumped hurdles like a chaser

What is this injury and how long out for anyone know

Will be back in New year,I think it was a splint problem !

Thanks for that, one run and arkle then ?

Will have to be a fair beast to win an Arkle off of one novice chase, and if that news is correct that we won't see him til the new year, I;m not sure how he can be a punting proposition for it.

Not sure it's New Year, Geraghty said around Xmas time...still plenty of time to get 2/3 runs in before March. If it is delayed then he might end up in the Champion Hurdle.

Don't say that sint, arkle all the way,

Splint problems rarely have a shelf life for when they'll be healed enough to start working again, Remember Simonsig had a splint issue and still isn't right enough to return and that was around this time last year, Sure Henderson has his best people on it but vet will suggest lots of rest, On the walker for 20-30 minutes a morning, Possibly some swimming which at least the swimming will keep him halfway fit.
Anything with a problem in December would be tough to get fit enough for March though, Looking at 12 weeks to get one 100% fit and that's with no interruptions.

Pretty big on Vautour and Conti mate. Went in on Vautour a few times at 7's and doubled him up with Conti at 12's. Did Conti to do the Haydock/Gold Cup double at 40's, so a good week for mW if they both win!

Aside from them, only small stakes on the likes of Smad Place, Beat That, Apache Stronghold, and Shaneshill (any race).

Got more on than I was hoping but its easy to get carried away!

Runner tomorrow , nice little race.... Am hopeful without being all over him as I believe he will like better ground and zig has two runs under his belt

Very tough little race today. Going to have to be very good to win this IMO.  Ptit Zig looks a great bet at 7/4.

Really looking forward to seeing him on the track again. Hendo will be hoping that this will be the start of an improvement in the fortunes of the higher profile horses in the yard.

Am very disappointed with that but wii be better on better ground but that's small consolation

I wouldn't throw away a arkle voucher. Time scale might be an issue, but 16/1 isn't shabby.

ptit zig was 6th in a champion hurdle ,no disgrace for josses coming back from a splint injury and possibly just needed it !

Just read Hendersons comments....sounds like they missed a fair bit of work with him and he believes it will have done him the world of good !! I suppose next time out will tell all we need to know

16/1 right good e/w value. Connections were "delighted" with today.

With Ptit Zig unlikely to run in the Arkle then IMO the only horses to be focusing on are Vautour, UDS and Josses Hill. With one of Vautour and UDS unlikely to run, 16/1 Josses Hill has to be taken in terms of forming a book for this race. Will most likely be 2nd fav come the day
By:

Josses Hill looks much more of a stayer than Ptit Zig to me.

16s maybe a slight over reaction

I like PZ's profile for the Arkle Sage but Nicholls has made it fairly clear that the Arkle is unlikely for him. That therefore whittles it down to 3 for me
By:

When: 19 Dec 14 19:23
JH might be a Spring horse and/or needs better ground. He's not for me but he could easily hit the frame in the Arkle with a bit more practice, especially if Vautour or UDS scare most of the opposition away.

Un De Sceaux aint a Cheltenham horse.
