Well yeah...lets see your recommendations, Menelaus.

Currently, your credibilty stands at
Zero + $340 - $540 or minus 200 on here.

You should have asked me yesterday. Silly

I loaded up on March 17 QQQs 62s at 24 cents this morning.

Feel free to keep track of this trade and report back.

No, I don't know what they are, the only thing I recognize is the after-timing.

Are you American, by any chance?

LOL....whatever mate....LOL Laugh

You "described" in rather graphic detail your "trip to nirvana" with apple dating back to 2008 but you have the gull to shout "aftertiming" on a trade I made hours ago and ironically enough is out of the money.

Is stupidity a british thing too?

People feel much happier with themselves and the system when they decide to take charge of their own financial decisions. Grab control of your pension and whatever else is in your name and make your own investment decisions. Even if you get it wrong, and you will sometimes, it's better than someone else getting it right and taking the profit in fees. Your money could be sustaining the lifestyle of an absolute cretin. No disrespect to Menelaus, but the characteristic refuge in technical language "QQQQ 24 26 - March 17th - that will be $500 Sir" betokens someone who is "blagging it", and should be borne in mind when reading the "management fee" aspect of your investment.

Just for the record, I never posted anywhere I'm into giving "financial advice". On the contrary, I posted repeatedly that I'm into mergers and acquisitions. I am fortunate enough however to have a earned a degree in economics from the LSE which enables me to comment on here with a certain degree of understanding about what's going on in these unprecedented economic times.

It also helps me avoid doing one of the following two things:
1. pull my finger out of my arse, stick it up in the air to see which way the wind is blowing, and make calls on the direction of the AUD
2. keep shouting "buy apple" without really understanding what's really going on with that stock.

Your last few posts have been quite revealing, especially if you think the trade I posted is "exotic". You are either a mug who has nothing better to do but troll on here, or a lost small investor stuck in a "buy & hold" mentality, where owing shares is the only game in town. Both will lead to to ruin.

Anyway, enough is enough, I never find the same joke as funny when I hear it twice, and your posts have crossed the line well into that. Good luck, and stay out of trouble. Time to move on.

Get back to us when the shares reach the price they were when you started this thread. Just so nobody loses any sleep about your fees coming out of their investments, Menelaus, who is it you work for in the City?
By:

You continue to be an idiot although I'm holding your hand and keep pointing you in the right direction. Apple is NOT the only way to play this market, there ARE far more profitable opportunities out there. Apple is expensive and I like to make the most use of my money rather than having it tied up into a "safe haven" stock. This market has been a traders wet dream, not a "buy & hold' play.

I have no idea what compelled me to do that, admittedly not the brightest thing to do, but I posted my real name on this forum once. Some people actually tracked me down and I started getting threats and hate mail. I kid you not. I suspect the Australian had something to do with that but I can't prove it so I won't accuse him of it.

So asking where I who I work for in The "City" is akin to putting a target sign on my back (although technically I don't work in the "City", our offices are in Mayfair). Sorry, you'll have to figure that one out all on your own.

As you wish. According to Johnnywalker, the price was up 20% to 29 cents at the time of your posting. Unfortunately, the market seemed to be turning as you were typing, and other posters have reported a price collapse with speculation of eye-watering losses on the trade.

You were doubly unfortunate, Menelaus, to combine both after-timing and a loss on your recommendation; and even more unfortunate that Johnnywalker has subsequently busted you for evasion as well.

According to Johnnywalker

According to jw are the active words here. At least you weren't stupid enough to commit yourself to posting "according to reality".

Yes, yes, yes, according to jw who frequently shares his wisdom on here, consistently expresses his affection for me personally and my posts, who holds his head high by debating so well with me in the past and one who clearly has no agenda. Got it....LOL.

And of course, not to be overlooked, your own unbiased, honest admiration and affection for me that you have expressed so eloquently so many times in the past, choosing to accept jw's word as gospel and write this post....LOL.

I'm still undecided if there are more hypocrites on here, or halfwits. I think hypocrites just pulled slightly ahead.

CLUELESS

It's going to appeal, where the matter can be heard by specialist judges, not by a judge who had already ruled against Samsung in previous cases and should have been disqualified to preside over this case, nor by nine apple fanboy jurors who don't know how to operate a cell phone or a tablet, let alone understand technical issues about them. This case would have been thrown out as a mistrial in any other jurisdiction other than California.

Apple has now figured out that since they can no longer stay ahead with product innovation, they can maintain their lead by owning the US Patent office and the California courts.

And the only ones celebrating this appalling approach that tries to stifle competition and continue to ram high prices down consumers throat are.......CLUELESS FANBOYS

From the telegraph website :-
• 1 in every 1000 searches conducted in the UK last week (week ending 8th September) was for iPhone 5
• 25% of all online searches relating to the iPhone were specifically about the iPhone 5
• 42% increase in online searches for ‘iPhone 5’ and a 68.3% increase in ‘Apple iPhone5’ searches in week on week comparisons, both of which coincide with the 33.8% increase in searches for ‘iPhone 5 release date’ for the same time period
• There has been 19 times more searches for the ‘iPhone 5’ than for last year’s model the iPhone 4S this week alone

Very interesting "makes you feel kind of all warm inside" story for the fanboys.

As for me, as usual I question, probe and research which brings me to this tidbit:

Experian Hitwise who is the Telegraph's source also had this to say in March 2012......and we all know how that turned out.

Facebook most searched for brand of 2011

http://www.hitwise.com/uk/press-centre/press-releases/facebook-most-searched-for-brand-of-2011/

But hey, having said all that, I have no doubt the fanboys will line up outside the door for a couple of city blocks to buy this thing. There's no other brand that gets this kind of hype with Bloomberg and CNBC virtually turning themselves into a 24hr Apple infomercial. Apple is the economy now, so I hope this launch all goes well otherwise there goes another 0.2 points shaved out of the GDP. Then what???

How exactly did you sell half of your Apple shares this morning?

Last I heard the NYSE hasn't opened for trading yet.

Can you trade afterhours as an Institutional investor?

Can you buy and sell equities in the shadow banking system?

Please enlighten us how EXACTLY you sold aapl at $537 this morning?

And why would you sell this "great company" that will be "trading over $1,000 soon" (your words, not mine)?

No wonder this forum has turned into a cemetery, reality is catching up with all the halfwits.

Well, I put in an an order with my stockbroker at 11.00am.. He said, "Do you want to wait til Wall St. opens?" and I said, "No, I'm looking at yahoos' financial services site and 11,000 Apple shares have been traded already." The site even tells you what prices were struck. by the time Wall St. opened, 250,000 Apple shares had changed hands. Stop pretending that you know everything Menelaus, and never flatter yourself that I think enough of you to lie to you.

@ biscuits

Just to be clear, it's becoming more and more apparent that some on here are not trading the "markets", they are simply amusing themselves with punting on (joke) small time proxies of markets who at least give one the illusion that they are "players". Again, it's a matter of perspective.

I couldn't give a toss TBH if you traded on NYSE, on yahoo, with your neighborhood's bookmaker or your second cousin. I doubt very much anyone who didn't even know what type of pension plan they belonged in would have anything of significance in an investment portfolio to be worth discussing.

As for me, I'd be more interested in knowing WHY you are NOW selling all of a sudden, when hardly a word was spoken from you while this stock fell 25pc from its highs, and while everything you EVER posted on this forum has displayed a misguided understanding on what was behind this stock's price movements.

Not exactly holding my breath for a response. Wink

Delusion is spreading like a bad virus on here apparently.

Nice "hey look over there" from you but not good enough I'm afraid. Next time you trade on "yahoo financial services" ask them to send you the actual certificates of the stock you just bought. It just might sink into you then, although I wouldn't bet on it, that your trading fiction, not the market.

I didn't think you would answer my WHY/NOW question. You hadn't the faintest why this stock kept going up and evidently you haven't a clue now why $170bn of market cap has vanished into thin air the last couple of months either.

It's time to eat crow fanboys.

An appeal to authority is, in general, a rather pitiful argumentative strategy. The more so, when the authority appealed to is, what I presume is a bachelors degree, at a second tier university.
