In the 15.30 at Beverley the 2 to focus on for trading purposes are Hadrians Wall & Ypres. The nod is being given to the latter based on a better draw and smooth traveling style in comparison to Hadrians Wall who needs a little more encouragement (although this hasn't prevented him trading recently).

Ypres is a gelding who has really got his act together this year since being dropped back to 5 furlongs being placed in each of his last 5 races and trading as we would require in each of them too. He's been raised in the weights but as a 3 year old we can still expect some improvement & his consistency should give us the trade if he's delivered with a chance around 1 furlong from home.

Ypres can be backed at 6.0 with the bookies or 6.4 on here for 2 points, if you want 30% profit then lay off 2.6 points at 4.4 or if you're looking for 50% then lay off 3.05 points at 3.85.

In the 17.40 Nursery at Goodwood the 2 year old Mark Johnston colt I'm looking at is Opt Out. He's been available to trade in 6 of his 7 starts to date & the only time he didn't he was practically pulled up by his rider due to an issue. He doesn't find much for pressure but his high cruising speed usually puts him at the head of affairs very early on. His high cruising speed means that his jockey is often last to ask for extra effort which is what should provide the trade between 2 & 1 furlongs.

Unfortunately he's not the classiest of types but is genuine enough to leave it all on the track, he doesn't often find much for pressure which makes him hard to back for win purposes but fortunately the trade is all we need.

Opt Out can be backed now for 2 points at 7.4 on betfair and 7.5 with the books (stan james). If you want 30% profit then lay off 2.6 points at 5.5, or if you want 50% profit then lay off 3.05 points at 4.8 to earn 1 point profit in all outcomes after commission.

I've been looking at The Nunthorpe for quite a while to see if there are trading possibilities and keep returning to one at the top of the market. This race has thrown up some big priced winners in the past and it's very possible we could see another today but it would take a better man than I to nail his colours to the mast to say where it will come from. This leaves me with the top 4 in the market to look at for a trade.

Ortensia & Sole Power both have excellent chances but are well known as hold up types who deliver their chances late, on a course that is known to slightly favour prominent horses I've passed over for these as too risky for a trade. Pearl Secret is unproven at this grade so for all he's undefeated & unexposed I still don't want to get involved.

The selection I've returned to every time is Bated Breath, he's been very consistent in group races finishing either 1st or 2nd in each of his last 10 races. He tends to sit much more on the pace than the other market leaders and will kick towards the front with about 1.5 furlongs to go which should hopefully give us a trade.

You can back Bated Breath now at 6.2 for 2 points, if you want 30% profit then lay off 2.6 points at 4.7 or if you want 50% profit then lay off 3.05 points at 4.0 to give you a 1 point all round profit.

The Yorkshire Oaks (15.40 York) is a race with strong lines of form through many of the runners as they have met a few times on the track already this year. Much will be made of The Fugue's claims and she's a worthy favourite after her impressive victory at Goodwood under Richard Hughes last time out. But at 2.78 she's plenty short enough for a fillie who failed to justify favoritism in the Epsom Oaks & The Ribblesdale Stakes at Ascot beaten both times riden on both occasions by todays jockey William Buick. I'm not saying that Buick isn't a great young jockey, he just hasn't found the keys to The Fugue & her hold up style makes it particularly difficult to nail it. Perhaps it was the experience of Hughes at Goodwood that allowed her to show at her best.

The stand out value in the Yorkshire Oaks to me is Shirocco Star available to back at 9/1 (10.0). When The Fugue was beaten at Epsom Shirocco Star was in front of her & at Ascot they were separated by just a short head. The piece of form that makes a mockery of Shirocco Star's price is the Irish Oaks at Curragh, in that race Shirocco Star beat another of todays runners Was comfortably by 2 and a quarter lengths. Was is available at 7/1 & Shirocco Star 9/1??? Surely this will be reversed by the time the race goes off.

Shirocco Star's trading record is 100% and available to trade in all 6 of her races to date. With the experience of Richard Hughes back on board I expect her to make this 7 trades from 7.

In an earlier race at Perth Hunters Belt runs in the 15.25 in where takes on a similar race over C&D to his last 2 times out where he has run very well and traded around evens in running both times. Both of those runs were under todays jockey Jonathon Bewley so it makes sense to back this partnership to match up to give us a nice trade again today.

We can expect Hunters Belt to be dropped out the back for the 1st circuit and then make steady ground on the 2nd circuit, if he is still on the bridle with 2 hurdles to jump then the price should contract enough to give us an easy trade. There has been a mood within the markets to push out the price of Hunters Belt so be wary about taking a price too soon but I will put up current prices available now anyway.

I'm hoping to have a selection at Yarmouth later today but I also wanted to take a 1st look at the Perth card and have come up with a couple of trading options for us here. This is the 1st time I've put up horses over the jumps but it can be just as profitable as trading on the flat and we will have to look to the NH season to generate the majority of our profits during the winter anyway so we may as well get started now!

In the 16.25 the Lucinda Russell trained Urban Kode is a gelding who has been in very good consistent form this year and available to trade in every one of his starts in 2012, he's also struck up a very good partnership with the amateur jockey who keeps the ride today. About 2 from home, Urban Kode was galloping all over his rivals last time out which allowed him to trade down to 1.52 and whilst todays task is tougher under top weight I'm still hoping that his style of running will give us the green screen we need.

A 7 year old gelding who is always worth considering for trading purposes when he runs is Light From Mars who runs today in the 17.20 at Wolverhampton. He runs today in a class 4 handicap but has already run with credit in a class 2 & a class 3 this year trading from big prices both times.

The switch to a new yard saw him run well with positive tactics used in a similar race over course & distance last time out and this is the sort of race that he can pop up & win at some stage. I hope that the positive tactics are used again which should see him turn into the straight at wolves either in the lead or close to it which should give us a trade.

He steps down in class today after running with credit in his last 3 runs and really seems to be getting the hang of things in his 2nd season on the track.

We got a trade out of Miss Ellany last week and she's available to back today in a similar race at double the price! Her smooth traveling style allows her to cruise up behind the leaders very much on the bridle which is what usually provides the trade between the 2 & 1 furlong markers. She goes from the 2nd best stall today in the 16.36 at Ripon which should allow her to sit nicely on the pace and her price should drop accordingly.

It's a shame there has been quite a few non runners at Chester in the 15.00 which is a shame because Communicator was at a very nice price last night, however he's a very consistent gelding had has been available to trade in all of his last 9 races.

Communicator has recently run with credit on heavy ground however his best form was shown in a class 2 handicap on firm ground at epsom leading me to think that he's even better on the firm ground. His consistency means that his jockey is nearly alway able to deliver him with a chance around 1f out which I'm hoping will be enough to give us a trade today.
