I think Helena will get a midtable televoting result, but could be helped a lot by the juries. I can't discount her as a winner, but I think there are 3 with better chances. (Sanna, Yohio, Ellen)
By:
A Jury vote something like this for example, would make it very interesting indeed:
Helena 115 Ellen 90 Yohio 70 Sanna 55 Oscar 35 Alcazar 35 Anton 30 Ace 20 Linus 15 Panetoz 10 |
By:
Helena's total could be a little high, but I think she will get 10s and 12s pretty much across the board from the juries. I will try and work it out a bit better once we know the details.
By:
The bookies think Sanna is a surefire winner though.
By:
Well, her price is controlled by punters who expect her to do well with both juries and televotes. I think she will too, but would not be surprised to see her beaten on both measures, so the question is will it be by enough?

The favourites turned over in Estonia too

Good for my book as I've laid quite a few countries now based on them picking the fans favourite songs only for them to go for something else and drift, but bad for the contest

I'm going to struggle to pick a top 10 this year

That Estonia song is awful!
By:
How did they vote for that?!
By:
I have yet to hear a song, other than that Swedish song which won't get chosen, that could win.. makes Spain seem to have a realistic chance!
By:
The Iceland entry is the worst.
By:
rivalled by Lithuania.
By:
I'm the same. Some absolute dross
The running order in Sweden fwiw 1. Anton Ewald – “Natural” 2. Ellen Benediktson – “Songbird” 3. Alcazar – “Blame It On The Disco” 4. Oscar Zia – “Yes We Can” 5. Linus Svenning – “Bröder” 6. Helena Paparizou – Survivor” 7. YOHIO – “To the End” 8. Sanna Nielsen – “Undo” 9.Panetoz – “Efter solsken” 10. Ace Wilder – “Busy Doin’ Nothin’” |

I have a suspicion that Spain will actually have a good year, but I just don't think they can win without at least some top votes. Denmark probably wouldn't have won without their Scandinavian allegiances even.
By:
I expect Russia to qualify, but I think they will be hampered by a lack of votes from anywhere bar former USSR.
By:
Macedonia, Albania and Greece could benefit from the lack of Balkan countries this year.

What is that tweet about bear?
I checked out his youtube channel. The guy is a tw@t. I can't believe he's our entry |

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Azerbaijan win, and I think the Ukraine are very likely to do well.
By:
Ukraine might be part of Russia of May
By:
not a chance.
By:
the West simply wouldn't allow that to happen.
By:
There must be some quality songs coming. But where from? Germany? France?
By:
nuclear Armageddon then
By:
Not the UK if we send that Brad guy

There's been money for Romania

I have a suspicion that a certain Denmark could have two winning years on the trot too.
By:
as long as they dont choose Rebekkah Thornbech.

"It was announced that Wurst would represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, after being selected by the Austrian national broadcaster ORF. Wurst's selection sparked controversy in Austria. Four days after ORF announced its decision, more than 31,000 people liked an "Anti-Wurst" Facebook page. In October, the Ministry of Information in Belarus received a petition calling on BTRC, Belarus' state broadcaster, to edit Wurst's performance out of its Eurovision broadcast. The petition claimed that the performance would turn Eurovision "into a hotbed of sodomy". In December, a similar petition surfaced in Russia.
If they edit out performances, these countries should be banned from the contest. |

If he does get to the final, then he could be a winner.

Some unbelievably incompetent choices so far this year. A great shame as some really decent songs have been out there but not selected.
