So do you think TPTB lost the plot or was this deliberate?
Neither they just didn't get as many votes. That's how it works. |
By:
tend to agree.
A mixture of both tho really. |
By:
What like you would George!!!

agree with Dizzy that is.

Dizzy
I answered you but you didn't answer me? ![]() How much did you lose on Ella? |
By:
Lou - I was fortunate in that the 25/1 on Tulisa losing all of her acts first acted as a bit of insurance on my Ella bets. I had laid off some of my stake last weekend at 6/4 and 7/4, but she was still my 4th biggest green going into last night's show.

By:
Blimey Lou - give me a chance to type!
By:
Unlike you, I fortunately always believe the Star leaks!

By:
Altho regards Ella, they either lost the plot with her (ie. could easily have made her voter friendly) or decided they weren't that bothered with her after the first couple of weeks.
By:
How are you feeling about Star leaks today Lou
![]() |
By:
They gave up on Ella too soon IMO. Shame...
By:
Can't wait for the percentages to come out. The red faces on here if they were wrong!!
By:
Definitely. Made a right mess of it. Tulisa's voting appeals should have been more concerted.

Btw Lou, your potato man has never topped the vote as far as we know

By:
Any proof yet they're right?
I'll answer that for you ......................... No FACT. |
By:
If they'd played it sensibly Tulisa's voting appeals shouldn't have been necessary.

By:
Ok what about this year any proof?
By:
By:
plenty of clues the leaks have been pretty much correct with the way the results have panned out since.
By:
But the song choices, performances etc. were SO dull...
By:
She was becoming worse than Rebecca Ferguson for being a singing candlestick and a one-trick pony.
And I love her voice. I think she's one of the best they've ever had on this show. But in the last 3/4 weeks they did very little to showcase her talents in the best possible light. |
By:
Exactly, they played it perfectly with LM making them look young, fun, accessible, girls next door, etc.
A mixture of songs to appeal to a wide range of ages, done pretty much straight. |
By:
Her last effort was awful. Told you all in my write up but even that got shot down in flames by some!
Thought she did better in the sing off myself though. He sang another dreadful dirge and screamed. Awful. |
By:
James wiped the floor with Ella in the sing off in my view. And I too thought Saturday night was awful for her... Didn't get what everyone was raving about on Twitter.
By:
James was better in the sing off imo . Was far better prepared for it
By:
Everything with Ella become so dark and brooding. The core voters don't mind changing up a song the odd time, but changing a song every week (and ultimately sounding the same every week) is overdoing it and being a bit pretentious tbh.
By:
If Cowell was there, his comments would have helped Ella no end.
I guarantee he would have said that she was coming across as too old for her age, need to have fun, try something different, be young, enjoy the performance etc. |
By:
Ella was in bits when starting the sing off, she was all over the place and couldn't sing properly.
By:
Fair enough to each his own re sing off.
I thought they both sang well on Saturday but just ridiculous song choices, really bad. And some like it!! |
By:
Spot on Squares. It was certainly switching me off - and I had a vested interest in her doing well!
By:
I thought Ella was great on Saturday. Performance makes very little difference sometimes
By:
Yes, and then the next week they would have done that - young fun more appealing Ella. In the end, they've run out of time to do that.
By:
Her performance was great, in terms of her singing quality. It was just so boring!
By:
“So do you think TPTB lost the plot or was this deliberate?”
I actually think they lost the plot a bit. Early slots were an advantage with a show ending after 11pm for the first time. But now we’re back to normal. They didn’t think the Rylan banter would propel him so much (the Take That banter with the right section of the VT lined up to be re-shown had to be scripted). And Chris’s laser eyes would have propelled him after the judges started arguing about it – basically telling the public that this was a stupid attempt to derail him. |
By:
I disagree, supported her from start to finish. Switching my vote to James now Lou
