An account uncovered by The Independent and linked to Kenyon wrote women can’t “ref, drive or give directions” on an online rugby fan forum in the 2010s.

English women “don’t care” and “just walk around with their fat bellies and odd shapes pushing a pram at 16 in their PJ’s”.

Hardly the worst examples of "sexism" i have ever read. Probably similar to pub banter uttered up and down the country, yes even in Liverpool PoP Grin

Surprised that  Starmer's Stasi haven't been knocking on Kenyon's door.

Mind you, Rodney is probably too busy working out how he can seemingly support Burnham's campaign, whilst also working out how to thwart his bid to take his job

He has said a few other laddish things it seems and he has a particular view on abortion which some won't like, but most of what he has come out with is no worse than you would hear in any town up and down the UK. The comments above were those that were apparently "sexist".

Given he is just an average joe rather than a career politician it seems a bit harsh to retrospectively judge him on past comments imo.

Judge everyone by the same standards.  You don't get let off because you are not a career politician.  That's why Reform are against DEI.  So am I.  I'd say that general thing is the only thing I agree with Reform on.  Their political and economic stance aside from that is to increase the wealth of the very rich even more (which will be at everyone else's expense) and line their own pockets at the same time.  Not Robert Kenyon.  He's just a limited Farage puppet, who doesn't have the first clue about economics.
By:

Given that Kenyon is hardly likely to be lined up as Chancellor should Reform get in, then i would say it's irrelevant that he "doesn't have the first clue about economics"

He'd probably still do a better job than our current Chancellor though Laugh

People have literally lost their minds if they expect someone to follow the bbc guardianista rules of language and authorised opinion when posting on a rugby forum, years before getting involved in politics.

It is literally demented, but sadly the clown world we now inhabit.

It's pineapple that is clutching his pearls about fruity posts on a rugby forum. Apparently. I have asked him to put forward evidence of what has disturbed him, and he has avoided it.

I'm not clear on why you think reform want to increase inequality. Though I also don't want to get into the weeds of policy debate.

If you do want to get rid of 'equity', crt, discrimination, two tier justice, policing and all the rest of it, you aren't going to get that from any other currently viable party.

Blimey!

Ok, arf at the guy terrified to google himself relying on someone else's evidence!

This successful bettor here. Big BIG arf!

But secondly, I never once suggested I was offended by it. I merely pointed out the quote from one woman on QT and the looks from loads more when he stumbled so badly on the defence. The fact that - in the eyes of the fanboys - the offences were so minor merely highlights my point that he should have easily been able to bat away any criticism. Instead he just floundered and couldn't find the words.

That is the bit I'm criticising. His complete ineptness to get round it despite having weeks to prepare. A bit of light misogyny is one thing; thickness is something else.

But there is a way of doing it. Particularly if you're Reform and you're edgy and you're outsider insurgents etc.

Just say it was banter with mates on a forum we all used to go on. What! You gonna police what people can and can't say when they've relaxed and had a drink? Eh? I remember when men were men. etc etc et bloody cetera.

It's not exactly rocket science and would probably get a fair bit of support from both the fellas and the women who don't want their men to be cucks.

Instead he just froze. The lights are on but no-one's home with that lad.

It baffles me why a self-confessed southerner (Cider) is bellyaching to such an extent about a by-election due to be held in the Borough of Wigan?

In the meantime, if Reform continue to field the likes of Rob Kenyon as Reform candidates, the prospect of Farage gaining the keys to 10 Downing Street are less than Hull City's chances of winning the 2026-27 Premiership title.

Has Farage even got any ambition to be PM? Let's face it - he'd be required to turn up for work on a daily basis. Judging by his infrequent appearances in the House of Commons, turning up for work on a daily basis isn't one of Farage's strengths. Laugh

Quite obviously Blakey, the genesis of this monumental effort to smear Kenyon is due to burnham being lined up as the 'saviour' of the labour party. If this was a regular labour blob candidate, you think there would be a national question time on it? Kenyon is a victim of the machine. It's fekkking absurd that someone is expected to justify nonsense posts, written on a rugby forum several years ago, on a national platform. He who must repent for breaking the woke rules. It is shameful, but the liberalists have zero morals and are quite happy to overlook actual bad behaviour and crimes.

I would be equally contemptuous of offence archaeology for labour or green candidates. The only time it is justified is when it exposes hypocrisy. Which, of course, there is endless material of for starmer.

Is the market now effectively dead?  A couple of small By election polls might be wrong enough that Reform could win, although Survation is arguably the best pollster imo, so the chances they are that far out is less.  Momemntum seems to be all with Burnham, but could that just be mainstream opinion, overshadowing Reform support? which will be vocal online, but not in open debate.

I'm fascinated to see how Restore Britain do.  This party is being supported by conspiracy theorists much like Q-Anon off their head on repetitive brainwashed nonsense from SM algorithms, so I really hope they don't do well.  By well I mean get 10% or more.

Why would there be any need to 'smear' an individual like Kenyon? The man is clearly unfit for any kind of role in public life. That's all that needs to be said about it. As for Nigel Farage? I suspect history will judge him to be little more than an agent provocateur. An individual who induces others to be violent or commit illegal acts such as those recently witnessed in the Farage riots in Southampton.

The combined support for Reform and Restore will be interesting to see. As will support for the Greens here. At the moment, there doesn't look like there's a mass of anti Burnham voting just to keep the King of the North in the north!!

Shows the victimhood of the modern far right, that allowing their preferred candidate on to the premier political show on the national state broadcaster where he can state his case to both the constituency and the country at large is portrayed as a conspiracy to undermine him, ignoring his own incompetence and sole responsibility for his poor showing.

Green vote will be incredibly small here. They've benefitted massively from having lots of disaffected Labour voters join them (reform too somewhat). Those voters have been presented this time with an opportunity to improve Labour and they're almost certainly going to take it.

On the ground report from a very experienced canvasser yesterday. He has it Labour 45%, Reform 35%, Restore 10%. He says that is very consistent across his team, with Restore making ground at the expense of Reform. He also said that he didn't speak to a single person whose voting intentions were outside these three parties.

'the modern far right' what is that exactly?

Blakey, as I alluded to already, the whole purpose of question time since before brexit is to socially engineer (colloquially gaslight).

As I also told you, the show is now an irrelevancy and won't influence anyone's vote. Doesn't stop them trying.

Restore is the Poundland version of Reform.

If Restore do pick up 8-10% of the turnout, that's a huge chunk of voters who would have voted Reform Ltd

Has Reform Ltd got such low brand loyalty that 20% of it's existing customers immediately switch to a new start up company?
Reform's chances to win a general election must surely be slipping away if the customers they've picked up already are so easily lost to a rival.
