Feels like Reform have a really big problem in picking candidates. There is a good portion of people who like Farage and for the likes of the locals, where candidate personality and competency is subsumed under banner and simply getting the bins emptied on time, this seems enough. But when it comes to something like this where the focus is much more on the individual they're often found wanting. He needs to spend some of his Thai millions on better selection and training of his minions if he wants to do anything more than shout from the sidelines imo.

Had nothing to do with people voting to get Starmer removed ,your safe pair of Hands has created nothing but Chaos for 2 years AT
|

By:
"Safe pair of hands". LOLOLOLOL. Taking the p!$$ obviously.
That Is even more preposterous than Starmer's absurd claim that the voters chose Labour over something he called "Division and Hate". Do you REALLY have to believe all that rubbish if you are on the "Progressive" Left? |

Seems people voted for Burnham not liebor, be careful what you wish for, if you think it cant get any worse for the country you just wait.

I can see the Tories having a bounce after Aberdeen. I reckon Reform have got a big problem on their hands and I've just had a little nibble on Farage leaving before the end of the year. He'll know the picture better than anyone. The Restore issue for them is huge. Those guys are just gloves off and make Reform look like another bunch of establishment goons (which, let's face it, they are or are at least trying to be). Add in Elon's algorithm and that vote is only going in one direction. Meanwhile Badenoch is quietly making the Tories look close to competent again. Reform are almost doing the splits trying to keep the two factions of their voter base together. Add in the whole working for foreign billionaires, the links to Trump and the incompetence of their candidates then I just don't see how it holds for them.

Has Our Andy got the 81 MPs together yet? Get a move on lad

Funniest thing is the labour loony tune lefties and the left media thickos thinking reform losing this local by election, is a such a big win for them.
Where the reality is that Labour winning this is probably the most undesired outcome for the labour government. Should and hopefully bring an end to this woeful and inadequate labour government before 2029. Here’s hoping….. |

Andy Burnham will be PM by the time Parliament shuts up shop next month. In the meantime the steward up the British Legion is predicting a heatwave with temperatures up to 100C will begin this weekend. He reckons it'll last until Eclipse Day at Sandown. I'm off to Turkey for a week July 13 - July 20. I dare say it'll be warm enough out there as well.

a lot of very delicious salty tears on here today

The process may start by then, but it will be very difficult to finalise. More likely we have a new PM announced at the Labour conference in September. Also, it is the least disruptive to both Labour and country.

I didnt expect (or bet) Burnham to take so many votes off reform but it stacks up in hindsight.
Restore was a bit of an underwhelming momentum killer. They may have just reached their full potential very quickly and replaced UKIP/ brexit party etc as the non establishment vote.. 3 thousand odd votes out of 75 thousand. Either they have a very shy vote or a very lazy vote. Or they are struggling to spell X on the ballot paper |
|
By:
Restore matched bets £450,000 approx. Reform matched bets £350,000 approx.
Restore backed at 44 on Thurs morning, still being backed @ 100 at midnight last night. Restore never polled over 10%. Was this betting influenced by Polymarket? A mad bot-led X.com community? |

A pleasing meerkat.
A 1/6 shot winning like it should despite market manipulation. Now refuk loses to Labour no reason for the more nutty refukers to not restore racism. |
|
By:
Just back from Rhodes. Polls wise, fairly reasonable. Restore spot on, Reform fairly close, Labour underestimated. I think that the last poll which had Labour at 49% had detected the start of a late surge in support for Burnham.
|
|
By:
I think it just signals the extent of tactical voting, with Makerfield being an A+ example where people wanted both Burnham and not Farage, so you even had some tories lending their vote over to get the right result.
|

By:
By elections are often tactical, and polling
can be +/- 6%, so 12% error in effective 2 horse race. Some pollster was saying the raw data was more accurate than the moderated content.. Lol. |
