You think colleges ask 16 year olds their political beliefs and turn them away?

Question Time tonight from the constituency. Expect Burnham to perform well. Had years of this under his belt, media training etc.

Yes Glasgow is correct. The professional politician against the layman and presentation counts for a lot. The Reform guy is nervous under the tv lights as he is inexperienced. Burnham a shoe in imo and I think he's more left wing than Ryan Giggs which fills me with dread.

The 5 candidates were on QT tonight.
It did not go well for the reform guy and he's drifted out from 4.3

Career politicians are just above criminals in the eyes of the general public right now. They detest them. Expected I suppose, that some people on here and the market interpret (incorrectly) that if Kenyon didn't come across as a slick politician full of word soup, but an everyday worker that it was negative for his chances. I do caveat that I won't be watching the inevitable ambush, but it's not difficult to envisage what will have gone down. It's ironic that 10 years ago this month, the bbc (including via QT) tried to gaslight its audience against leaving the EU. It didn't work then, when it was still relevant! Not sure why it should work now. Of course burnham could be winning anyway, but it won't be due to question time.

"I'd rather have a career politician over a sexist plumber" and the surrounding two minutes of him floundering over his own sexist posts - "allegedly" - and the face of every single woman in the audience who looked like they wanted to spit on him feels a bit like the final nail.

Where does Nige keep finding these people?

'sexiest plumber', you have lost the plot.
was it your first time viewing question time? the audience has been r11gged for over a decade. of course it was a viper pit
By:

ha yes so from what you outlined they had coincidental cameras that just happened to be focused in on random angry vipers in the audience at the right time.
yes, I guess you are actually genuinely new to these techniques, how cute :)

Let's get this right. You don't think that there is any production bias at the bbc, or question time specifically.

Is that what you are claiming?

burnham is now green for me in the next pm market and I'm using that green to oppose him in the by election. I made him green in the pm market by laying multiple people who I don't think could ever be pm. there is some jeopardy, as I suppose theoretically the likes of mahmood and streeting could be the next pm. but for me, that is highly unlikely.

It's clear from the reform supporters response to yesterdays QT that they despise the random working
brit.

The QT audience comprised of a wide selection of makerfield locals, with a typical wide spectrum of IQ's and political leanings.

All the reform supporters on here are blaming the audience for their candidate's poor performance.

Rediculous.

Not seen it, no intention of viewing any of it. 'blaming the audience' doesn't make sense. I'm telling you it would have been set up by the producers to 'other' the reform candidate. From the post show commentary on here, it didn't disappoint.

I'm telling you that if the market has reacted to the show and moved reform out, the market is wrong. Most of the country hates the Labour government, I'll be astonished if that was adequately reflected on the show.

As I alluded to, it was the same in the lead up to the Brexit vote, when QT was still relevant (unlike now). And we know what happened there, especially in Makerfield as it happens.

In a way it's self selecting anyway. Not many people who would vote for reform, or are on the margin of doing so would apply to be in a bbc audience. rather stick a hot needle in an eye.

Actually 3 Shocked

Some curious data in there, especially the profile of the alleged restore potential voters.

Out of 4 wards, reform are winning two of them.

Curiously enough also, the two wards with the highest sample are the ones that show labour ahead.

almost certain I'd say some people canvassed on the phone confused restore for reform. I'm not having 55+ voting restore, hardly any will know who they are. so out of the 29 people who said they intended to vote restore, probably a least half were actually intending reform. Though of course they could also mix their actual vote up.

If you prompt for answer and prompt restore before refuk
you will get a different answer to prompting refuk before restore.

This appears to be an unprompted question, simply asking who they
will vote for.

Postal votes already in,....

QT felt like a Burnham coronation to me. The state of British politics with those candidates.  Was it "Pick A Candidate To Make You Look Stupid next to Andy Burnham Day"?  Kenyon and The Greens candidate.  Like Rodney and Uncle Arthur

I found it embarrassing

Jake Austin Lib Dems.  Just finished his A-Levels.  First time in front of a camera never mind a live audience.
Michael Winstanley Conservative  Potters round his garden rearranging his new Garden Gnomes Fred, Fiddles and Pratchett
Sarah Wakefield Greens.  She spends £10 a month helping dolphins and loves the fact they swim very fast.  She looks like she's on ecstasy and away with the fairies, but all she's doing is thinking about how lovely dolphins are.
Robert Kenyon Reform.  Plays darts for the Eight Bells' second team and has mastered the art of counting down from 501, which he thinks along with his one GCSE in woodwork means he is well qualified to be an MP.
Fiona Bruce Presenter.  Wishes she was doing Antiques Roadshow

Nobody seemed to be bothered about Hannah the fake plumber being a MP. What were her qualifications to be a MP ?

It's ironic actually that you think what people want is a slithery career politician that has never done any real work in their entire life, over a genuine working class person. Or that northerners are bothered about a few fruity social media posts.

Could be pretty interesting this one.

To be fair to The Greens they don't really want to get votes.  Reform do.  I get they are after low intellect voters and they think by offering a low intellect candidate that will resonate with their core support, but actually as you and I know from RTV, if the candidate is too low intellect, your average voter is turned off.  Reform have handed this by election to Labour on a plate.

Being a competent MP has absolutely nothing to do with answering loaded questions on QT. To me the show is an irrelevance but putting burnham up against those people was a deliberate manoeuvre. A sly trick, quite obviously burnham is going to be more accomplished in that area, as talking bullshine is all he has done for his working life.
