I think you’ll find the EU signed up to that as well
The point is to make sure it doesn’t stop trade .. get your facts right |
By:
ok with that ? No thought not
![]() |
By:
you were talking about what the UK govt is trying to do. you seem to think it's possible for them to simultaneously be trying to avoid something they have signed up to.
if that's your understanding of the world, then that's not something I'm prepared to debate. Facts all straight here, cheers. |
By:
Let me explain again , the U.K. didn’t sign up to not being able to send produce from within the U.K. , from one part of the U.K. to another
Get your facts right , cheers |
By:
okay, if that's what you think. don't take it personally (that you have followed something so absurd seems unbelievable, I know). however, the fact is, UK signed up to a border in the Irish Sea. goods crossing that border are now subject to checks.
By:
checks are fine , there are checks on every border in the world
By:
the fact is in a legally binding treaty they did sign up to it , They just thought /hoped the EU would turn a blind eye
if this dispute went to high court it wouldbe 1.01 EU 999 UK Wether thats right or wrong whats written in the treaty proves it, johnson/frost and cabinet ministers have all admitted that on tv this week |
By:
Don't bring the Sudetenland into this lfc, you might start the Third World War!
By:
I have to say I am also rather fond of Merguez
By:
Let me put it this way wd
‘If the application of this protocol leads to serious economic , societal , or environmental difficulties that are liable to persist , OR TO DIVERSION OF TRADE , the Union of the United Kingdom may take appropriate safeguards ‘ Article 16 of the NI protocol |
By:
erm I would have to say you may have me confused with someone who gives a fffff f
Stupid people who worship the same God allegedly killing each other, hating each other. Let their God have them and swallow them up just like the Israeli's and Palestinian God fearing folk! |
By:
There you have three boxes ticked , economic , societal and trade
By:
Always read the small print wd
I’m beginning to think remainers aren’t particularly intelligent and will believe any old nonsense they’re told |
By:
bigpop is a bit like that
![]() |
By:
Oh. Ist poster also , he hasn’t read it or understood it
By:
ask yourself who,s prepared to go to court over the deatails of the protocol, the people who signed the foooking thing have already admitted on live tv they didnt fully understand the consequences of what they signed up to
as said on here at the time the EU had basically a media blackout till the uk had signed on the dotted line because they couldnt believe what the uk were prepared to sign up to and you can copy and paste that on to the aussies cant believe what the uk is prepared to sign up to to clinch a quick fta with them |
By:
Ist poster I’ve just pointed out to you what the protocol says
Signed up to by the EU ..let’s see if they go to court for not agreeing with what they signed up to , lol |
By:
The U.K. is the court , cheers
By:
Now it’s for the EU to abide by the protocol and what they signed up to
Let’s see if they can behave themselves reasonably |
By:
So basically you are saying they signed the withdrawal agreement knowing they were breaking their own constitutional laws Lfc?
By:
I’m saying they are breaking the protocol on three issues , economic , societal and trade
Now they’ve signed and so they better amend their bad behaviour and honour their commitments |
By:
All that was cleared through parliament at the time.Johnsons explanation is "he was having a torrid time",he considered that a good enough explanation for the people of the UK.
By:
Yes I know all that was cleared through Parliament, and signed by the EU
That’s why the EU must honour what they have signed up to |
By:
Have to cut the lawn

he's in a position where he knows enough people (and lfc is providing a great example of what I'm talking about) will go along with any old made up bullsh1t, so long as a bit of time elapses before the bullsh1t comes home to roost.
there's no real media scrutiny. The bbc is running scared of the charter renewal, the papers are right wing sh1t rags, others the gvt just ignores. BJ will bail out anyway soon enough; he's had the job now. That's all he wanted, he doesn't want to do the job, and he definitely doesn't want to try to unravel the impossible contradictions of Brexit. He's bright enough to know it's nonsense, and he doesn't even think it's the right thing to do. It always was just a vehicle for him. it's a fact that the gvt signed up to a border in the irish sea. They said they didn't but they did. now they're blaming what they did on 'them'. It's not complicated. whether lfc is just trolling or not doesn't matter; some real people do think these things. victims who remain in love with their abuser. Got to feel for them really. |
By:
"There is no media scrutiny" exactly, why not?
Allister Heath in Boris's paper; "The Imperial EU is blind to the folly of its unequal NI brexit treaty" 9th june'21 " All Eurosceptics should back this deal, this is as good as it gets" 17th Oct 2019. Some change of tune! Not good enough. |
By:
"There are always custom checks on every border in the world "
not on the ROI-NI border it goes against the principles pf the GFA |
By:
the ROI-NI border was until recently an internal border within the EU; there are no customs checks on any internal borders inside the EU as there are common rules across the internal market. The EU is interested in checking what enters its external borders.
By:
NI-GB basically is the external EU border now
By:
“ that being said, of course the U.K. and the EU need to work out the specifics
and the modalities on that , need to find some way to proceed that works both for the EU and the U.K. “ well said Mr President . |
By:
Ministers today warned the EU they will ‘ not be allowed’ to threaten the integrity of the U.K.
Boris meets with Macron , Merkel and Von der Leyen today Quite right |
By:
Ministers today warned the EU they will ‘ not be allowed’ to threaten the integrity of the U.K.
it's a bit late for that |
By:
What are they discussing then if everything’s fine with the EU ?
So far the U.K. is quite happy |
By:
LOL BY the uk your obviously not including the DUP AND UNIONIST parties in NI,,
anyone remember the THE CONSERVATIVE AND UNIONIST PARTY ![]() ![]() |
By:
johnson tells the word THE EU need to no realise NI is 100% part of the uk,right lets get down to brass tacks then
unionists wont have a border in irish sea sein fein etc wont have a border on the mainland so that leaves johnson either rejoining the EU or rejoining the single market and customs union no over alternative available |
By:
You forgot no deal and my money is on that is what Boris is aiming for
By:
Die Wurst ist lecker. If it's used as a pretext to annul the cockeyed deal we have with the EU as macaroney suggests then bring out the barbies.
By:
johnson was free to take no deal for 18 months and didnt
he,s now had evidence of the confusion/problems even without tariffs, trade wars would seem ridiculous even for johnson and his loony ministers for now to go for no deal |
By:
and of course trump was in charge back then
By:
We will need a new variant after the Indian or Delta Variant or maybe we can provoke a war with Spain. Anything to suspend reality!
