Haggis is an endangered species

By:
There are still a good few haggis farms
hidden away in the Highlands. Not so many lowland haggis,... |
By:
I wonder do they eat it every day in Scotland ?
By:
A lot of people may go against the haggis now because of the poor behaviour of the SNP
By:
On the BBC news board it say that one of the unionist organisations has withdrawn support for the good Friday agreement. I wouldn't like to be associated with the EU in NI now

fair play to frost/johnson to admit in public we were to thick /stupid to predict the outcome of the deal we negotiated, but can you help us out a little by ignoring a legally binding treaty
but their yet to admit if they thought their supporters were to thick and stupid, ![]() ![]() ,till such time we can continue to join the dots |

By:
i wouldnt like to associated with EU in NI now
as opposed to needing begging for an FTA with biden and usa |
By:
Nonsense , it’s the EU who didn’t understand it , banning sausages and haggis in the U.K.
That’s the only explanation that makes sense either that or they’re bonkers |
By:
U.K. has refused to rule out another unilateral delay
Quite right |
By:
youve got to admire brexitters
dear auld silly LILLY on newsnight last night hadnmt an answer ,but 3 yrs ago was on daily shuttles to brussels waving bits of paper with max fax on the front ,sayit was ready to go tomorrow, 3 yrs on uk cant even produce the officials needed to process the current paperwork think it was trumpted as the malthouse compromise usa/uk/eu/ begging for an aNSWER TO THE PROBLEM, why arnt the trillby squad, malthouse, lilly, pattison, trimble,IDS hitting the airwaves eaving their max fax papers and become hero,s maybe even nobel peace prize winner,s, if it was ready to go 3 years ago must be a well oiled, slim line operation by now |

By:

By:
Exports have gone up with the rest of the world , it’s all good
good to hear there’s less shoplifting |
By:
Now if you see any problems at Dover let us know , cheers
By:
You don't have the problems because you aren't implementing the rules, why do think the UK is so afraid to do checks on EU goods?
By:
what is the DUP's position here
renegotiate the protocol? what are the UUP saying? |
By:
Wallflower mentioned on this thread that the EU cannot possibly make an exception for Northern Ireland in its desperate need to protect the "single market" from chilled meats ,seed potatoes ,processed foods etc ,all of these deadly items were deemed not so dangerous only a few months ago.
I think the whole point that through its unique history and of course the GFA and the impossibility of a conventional sovereign country /EU border and border requirements it is exactly that "an exception" and should therefore have its own bespoke arrangement ,which with appropriate 3 way EU/IRE/UK cooperation is very possible ,unless of course the EU are using it to try to force UK to seek realignment ,are friends in Europe wouldn't do that would they. |
By:
based on the polls it seems TUV has been where many DUP voters have gone?
presumably they have an even harder position on the protocol? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Northern_Ireland_Assembly_election#Opinion_polls |
By:
flat there have to border checks somewhere
either NI-ROI or NI-GB if you don't want border checks you shouldn't have left the single market |
By:
you can't bring stuff into the EU without checks if you are not in the single market
By:
Flat as said earlier above,it isn't what products you are mentioning but the route you are going down with dodgy chicken/beef and who knows what else. Has to be checks.
By:
We do want border checks
By:
lot of people thinking "ha ha DUP support collapsing because of their opposition to protocol"
this is not what is happening support is collapsing because they are not opposing it enough |
By:
Border checks of goods entering the EU should be done on the EU border
If that’s not acceptable don’t expect the U.K. to help you out |
By:
that breaks the GFA
By:
No it doesn’t
By:
Drive up UK government propaganda in NI then so they will want to unite with the ROI then.
Problem solved, checks on the EU border. |
By:
The U.K. doesn’t have a problem , the EU does
Come back and let us know what you propose |
By:
It's the UK that's throwing a hissy fit about keeping the treaty that they signed.
By:
I tax my vehicle electronically ,I do not walk to DVLA Swansea or stand in a post office queue ,there are many ways to solve this with mutual cooperation ,rather than pedantic bureaucratic manual inspections.
By:
a hard border in Ireland is incompatible with the GFA
By:
flat people have been looking at that for years
no solution has been found |
By:
No solution has been found because the EU are using the situation as leverage for other agendas.
