Bog Warrior hasn't done much wrong so far. I was at Navan last November when he beat Flemenstar in a novice chase and he was superb and the same at Fairyhouse. Form seemed to dip as the season progressed so maybe today is the day he will be at his best.Looks a class above the Nicholls horse and 1/1 looks good to me.
By:
Yeah I let him win at that price though Santry. If he was say 2/1 or something yeah fair enough but really not worth my while putting anything on him with my concerns as voiced before.
By:
Ruby. Bookies not charity's and in what looks a straight match if Bog Warrior was 2/1 I would avoid him as would have to be something fishy.
By:
Yeah but he has a lot a lot to prove. Far too short for me but as I say I hope he wins and wins well just no point IMO backing him at that price.

Beef to Heels ran a smashing little race earlier to win.
FL defintely a massive step up, are they first time cheekpieces? either way he jumped much better and showed real guts after going a fairly strong pace all the way. Quito De La Roque ran a good race and looks to have all the ability still intact but got tired in the ground as he was entitled to after being off for so long. Sir Des Champs price may start to shorten ![]() |

By:
My fear were realised there.
He has simply gone the wrong way now and his once limitless career looks pretty much done and dusted. Every since they soured him at Xmas by trying to hold him up. Shocking fall as well, I be surprised if he didn't hurt something there. Sad times ![]() |
By:
Have to say Bog Warrior looks a shadow of the horse he was.Even if he stayed upright might not have beaten Imperial Shabra, says a lot. Thanks Ruby for your reservations as while I dropped a few quid not as much as I could have.
By:
Lets hope they don't make a mess of that very talented novice chaser they have with the same trainer!

Rule The World 6/4 with Power right now.
Looks huge price! |

Martin is useless,Why trust him with a potential Grade 1 horse?
i just dont get it. |

whats wrong ruby 3.8 on here now.....has it lost a leg.....
![]() |

By:
Looks a bit smelly alright WR,trying to get him all morning with fair lumps,be worried for him.
By:
4.6 now ..makes that 6/4 look a little skinny....
By:
pa i was really taken with this fellow at punch , cant understand this drift...
By:
nothing wrong with that run ...market got him wrong ...he ran a cracker....
By:
Lack of experience probably got him beat, good run and lovely traveller.
By:
That is as happy as i could be having lost cash to be honest.
Ran a fantastic race and when Davy went for him he had nothing left, he pulled to hard with no pace then to compound that he got very hot before the race. Will reverse form with the winner by 10l next time! |
By:
lovely novice for the future ..doesent make me feel any better tho ..mind you he won for me on debut but thats racing..have to say tho the best novice ive seen in a while is bonisland..my only winner yesterday..gigginstown have so much strenghth in debth..great thread..

unlucky ruby,i thought it would win myself and went in twice because of the drift.i never let a drift worry me when i take a position.a word of caution though,i think that is as good as he is.

Dedigout ran a nice race to start off the season and should be one of the top novices this season. The Hughes horse today ran well and lots of improvement to come. Rumours that un atout died on.Mullins gallops this week if confirmed would be devastating blow. If it is true Mullins would have done g Job of ****g up there best recruits.
By:
I sure Mullins would go out of his way to ruin a good one. Ffs the mentality of some on here is unbelievable in the context of the above post!
By:
Horse dies on the gallops and its the trainers fault.
Unbelievable. |
By:
Samain , love the higher law, midnight game , make your mark, cool dine ,cousin vinny , Micky d, sous les cieux, five for three etc etc. Of course there not related to training but so many of his top.horses get injuries far more attrition than other big yards in England and they never really come back bar hurricane fly. Midnight game and make your mark were campained awfully last season. Mullins is a hell of a trainer but his record of attrition can not be ignored..... tarla is another who was pulled up and then hacked up the next time. Could not make it up........ not a word on high Handel either
By:
Ruby the above post just makes no sense, total and utter tripe to be honest.
By:
ruby letting himself down bit time here, absolutely pathetic last couple of comments

I cannot see where Cooldine not living up to high expectations comes into this.I would have thought Mullins has no worse a record with horses getting injured than any other top trainer. It might appear he has but I would suggest that this is only because of the number of high class horses he has in his care.In % terms I could not back up this but I would doubt the poster could back up his claim with statistical evidence either.
With regard to the campaigning of Make Your Mark and Midnight Game I would suggest that the poster should acquaint himself with where the responsibility of placing the horses lay. |

By:
Fair enough if you don't accept my opinion but its a my opinion on willie Mullins.
I state again Willie Mullins is a fantastic trainer and the best in the country for NH horses but I can help feel that his horses get more injured than most and also that the way he prepares his novices for the festival is not my cup of tea. Even to add to the list there is the 2 wylie horses in the Grand National that got injured. They seem to get injured so much and he has the soundest horses and bloodstock in the country bar none. I just hope that Un Atout, Sir Des Champs , Make your mark and Samain all come back and fulfil there potential, there is nothing worse than people or a horse that does not reach potential. Tillahow and Roi Du Mee won on Thursday which makes me very happy, Mouse wise old owl. War Correpondant Un Beau Martin Arnaud Make a track Cops and Robbers Mr Cracker Rocky Wednesday Savello Far Away so Close All run this weekend and hopefully maybe one or two winners. The bumpers in Naas and Navan looks good also. |
By:
Ruby give me your opinion and any background on Cops And Robbers.
By:
Hard to know, he has a engine but doesn't jump great. Mind you a proper track like Naas may play to his strengths and yard in amshing form
By:
Proper track like Naas......good one.
By:
What wrong with Naas??...big galloping track with a stiff finish. He ran at Wexford last time, a truly horrible track. Its like a Nascar track
By:
i agree with ruby here , nass is a smashing galloping track , as is navan , two of the best n.h. courses in ireland if not the british isles....
By:
Can't understand Gant's problem with Naas, one of the best run tracks in the country and I always love going there. Chase course is smashing with its stiff fences.
By:
All about opinions more of a Fairyhouse, Navan and Punchestown fan myself........proper tough NH tracks in my opinion.
By:
I do agree that Naas is well run and the local people and business community support it.
By:
Navan is a fantastic as is Punchestown, fairyhouse not my cup of tea.
By:
So you think mullins is the best trainer in the country,But you then go on to say the way he prepares his novices for the festival is not your cup of tea?
Bit of a contradiction there ruby. |
By:
Not really Chelts everyone has there negatives, Mullins record and where has come has been sensational and only the very best could make such strides he has in recent years but his record of keeping top class horses sound, just look at the name the horses above loads of them and even his Hurricane Fly has missed 2 Chelts festivals and ran a shocker last year, 1 win from 4 for the most talented hurdler since Istabraq isn't pariculary impressive return(i accept that Montjeu etc) but 1/4 not perfect by any means.
Same as Aidan O Brien, I love AOB because he wins me lots of cash when it really counts in Group 1 races but Do i accept he sends out half cut horses every year and 2yr olds that can turn form around by dozens of lengths throughout the season. Or the fact he is a idiot when he speaks to the media. We all have our faults I not stupid enough to believe anything a horse trainer says and I hope you don't think Willie, Aidan etc are all good and no bad. |

'Ran a shcoker last year'
I hope everybody keeps believing that and keep underestimating ROR |
