i'd forgot the world championships were starting till i noticed last night.1st event i looked at was womens 400m,expected Sidney Mclaughlin to be long odds on..she's 5/4

sidney's doing the 400 flat not the hurdles - she'd be unbackable if it was over the obstacles

womens 10k 1.30pm - chebet won't be beaten

BBC's coverage embarrassingly lightweight without Johnson. Far too wishy-washy. Radcliffe has never been remotely good and Ennis-Hill similar. The only bonus so far is not hearing Jackson. Also far too much concentration on the home team. Crazy when they ignore the actual race and instead we get a close up of one of 'our' runners. That should never happen.

In next years 'enhanced' games we may see the first ever javelin thrown out of the stadium.

nasser has faster times this year but you can't tell with sidney because she hardly ever competes and peaks for the championships |
|
By:
nailed-on certs for these champs mostly in the womens:
kipyegon 1500 keeley 800 bol 400 hurdles chebet 5000 |
|
By:
in mens duplantis in the pole vault of course - maybe warholm in the 400 hurdles
|

How about a few potential winners that are not 1/10 shots?
Relay squad made a right mess of trying to get a bronze. |

mens 100 looks competitive - seville and thompson have impressive times but noah lyles is the man for the big occasion 2/1

Is she still a bet rico....will she outclass them? what's the level of the flat girls? no idea tbh..seen no athletics since world champs last year...semi finals are the form lines. |
|
By:
Lyles wasn't the best in the first round, but hopefully, he will progress through the competition. At 5/2 I think that's worth chancing.

you mean the olympics there were no worlds last year |

same thing innit

Lyles was underwhelming in the early rounds with most having given up on him by the time the Olympic final came around only to then win it.!!

Cracking race in the Womens Marathon , Ended up as a 200 M sprint

That's what happens if they insist on running the marathon at Lingfield.

Julien Alfred looks nailed on to win the 100m and 8/11 will be long gone after the semis imo.
|
|
By:
alfred is a machine and has proven champ form but jefferson-wooden has been faster this year and beat alfred in their only 2025 meeting - 2.3

Betfair only have markets for a handful of events this year? e.g. nothing for the Mens 10000m final today

Other bookmakers available, but they could offer more in terms of betting without when there are so many short priced favourites.
I backed Alfred at 13/8 before the first round on the basis she has the pedigree and J-W doesn't. That defeat was very close, and certainly not conclusive. Favourites flipped after the first round. I think they made the right decision in not re-instating Koech last night. Cram made far too much of what happened. |
|
By:
Ingebrigtsen was not the only big name to go out in the heats. France Azeddine Habz, who came in with the world-leading time, was seventh in the first heat while Kenyan teenage sensation Phanuel Koech, who beat Kerr at the London Diamond League, fell in the final heat.
the shocks have began. |

lyles and jefferson-wooden for me in the 100
tobogo may get a bronze - beautiful athlete to watch looks like he's jogging |

I think Hudson-Smith was about 6/4 to win that 400 Metres. Anyone who opposed him is laughing. Looked like he had run a marathon.
The three favourites all qualified comfortably in the women's event. McLaughlin looked as if she had landed in the easiest heat. Tebogo was the surprise package, and much the best at the Olympics, but where has he been this season? |
