Thought I would post Weeks 1, 2, and 3 sheets as they’re interesting to browse and show how important it is to keep records that can be looked back on.
I will post Week 4 tomorrow after racing – hopefully, that will show a profit-making 4 weeks on the bounce. I will do it on 3 separate posts. Nobody post until all 3 sheets have been posted. Please There are a couple that are .01/.03 over six but given the low SP odds on those horses I thought it fair to leave them in as a Lays. You can work out why there are “No Bets” via the rules. I don’t look at anything other than a horse has two 11’s and going for a Hat Trick. Keep life simple - if it ain't broke. I’ll post the bottom half of this weeks sheet and you’ll see it’s made 18.34 points profit after 45 winning bets and 18 losers over the course of 4 weeks. I’ve seen people in betting shops studying form then throwing things at the TV screen and using naughty words after the race when the form didn’t go to plan.

I couldn't find reasons to lay Casaruan today on form and profile.
Sprint trips never likely to suit on pedigree and since upped in trip and onto polytrack it's romped it's last 2 egg and spoon races at Chelmsford. A different track here but another weak race and the fact it had no bother whatsoever scoring over 7f when dropped in trip suggests to me there will be no problem over this CD (making ground up form the back which is the likely tactic).If it hadn't had that 7f win there would have been more of a doubt about this track today and it's running style but it looks to have everything covered. Trainer dangerous collecting wins with this sort starting off so lowly handicapped. And I’m trying to figure out how to do it. Need help. hapsan, I love jumps/handicaps, I know I'm repeating myself here but, as I've said, any handicapper that is on a treble or four-timer is on a collision-course with [THE handicapper] and there can only be one winner. Your suggestion that HTS s are layable seems so simple and yet so obvious, but it's only one small part of the equation.
I suppose, to make it simpler, you could lay double and three-time winners until they got beat, just keep doubling up your stake, but that would require bells of steel. I like looking through what your plan throws up and trying to find what I consider the the most likely losers with the lowest risk of them winning. There are so many aspects to consider but ultimately you have to make a decision, so, often it's a case of totting up the negatives. btw, you flatter me with your last post. I shall post what I lay and why. I would be grateful to anyone who can persuade me to reconsider and, who knows? I might be able to give them something to think about. happysandwich, are you using any formulae in your spreadsheet or are you just entering the SPs & P/L figures manually?
I ask because, according to the formula bar (I've highlighted it in pink in the image below), that entry of 7/2 in the Bookies column suggests that the cell has been formatted for Date rather than a Fraction or a Decimal number. On my Excel sheet that column is formatted as text because I want to put the odds in as you see them. I don’t want it as a Fraction or a Decimal number. I think you’ve got the Google spreadsheet page up but for some reason it don’t bring the formulas in when I cut & paste them there. Columns E, F, G and H are all Sum( ) to make them add up. I’ve asked Striding on his Lay Naps thread for help, have a look on there. It will explain it better. I did say it would be complicated to explain how to achieve your goal and I will show you why. A work around like you are doing is probably the best option, ie format the table online and then post a link to it or format table and then save it as a 'picture' on your pc then upload it as a picture using manage photos on your betfair profile page.The alternative as I mentioned before is to have a formatting sheet say 'sheet 2' in your excel work book which has conditional formulas that look at data in 'sheet1' (assuming this is your sheet with table) then add formatting ie colour/bold/underline etc etc based on the values of data in the sheet1 cells. I will post what this format sheet would look like using my league table from last seasons lay naps comp. This years comp I am posting the tables as 'pictures' saved on my PC as it gives far more formatting options (ie you can fill the background colour of cells not just change text colour and it negates the need for this formatting sheet.
If you posted as 'picture' I would still have to explain on excel how you use conditional formatting to automatically change cell colour based on their values. Although it's pretty easy it isn't easy from experience to teach this online with someone who hasn't used it before. I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve both put in to help me with posting Red text in a sheet. I know it isn’t easy and difficult to explain to someone like me who only has basic knowledge of Excel. As you can see I’ve done my very best but won’t try the Red again as it was an absolute nightmare for me. The boxes that had formula in them were the worst. Many thanks again and this is the fruits of your labour in black & white (and mine ).
