Didn't look great Skip - ironically the (huge imo) price put me off!

It went out way yesterday with Sovereign Duke to be fair.

GL all.

Or was that Skip actually (Young Buck) - too much action for me to keep up today imo Happy

Cheers Bullraider and welcome to the thread.

Thanks tm for the welcome
This forum has lost it's legs recently but the  strategy of placing appeals to me as so often i miss the main target.

The next three at Kempton all look to have potential and the added bonus is I don't fancy any of them which bodes well for their chances.

The market is in the process of absolutely hating Saeiqa (18:15 Kempton) - but assuming whatever was amiss LTO was a blip (and hoping that blinkers are a help) - I have now been sucked into betting him half stakes EW at what seems a fair price (11/4) if he is a fit horse. Obviously the market thinks he might not be!

I can't bring myself to also bet on Rommel (ew) - giving weight to what I would imagine are better and likely more progressive/less exposed horses - but if the there is anything amiss with Saeiqa, he is consistent and I wouldn't be surprised if he runs above himself just to annoy me! GL

Yes Jon - been dripping in EW on here at 4/1+ - but as you say - more shape than anything else.

At least Run For Freedom (2nd in the 18:15) has given Riflemans last race a little boost though (hopefully!)

A proper disappointing day in terms of decisions - so happy enough to come away just -1.10 on thread bets.

Upwards and onwards - see what tomorrow brings. Happy

Well I played fast and loose to small stakes breaking just under even in two races, winning in two races and no return in one race making £69.60 on the day.  I'm in no way saying this is the way forward I just thought i'd see how the day would go on betting on the numbers and market shape without letting my opinion of form get in the way.  I got away with it particularly with Rookie Trainer being gifted the race by the faller.  The day could easily have gone the other way. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Cheers Jon - sometimes doing the lot can break the pattern and restore a bit of faith/confidence - paradoxically having a day off can sometimes have the same effect.

Chopping and choosing hasn't gone great for me again today - dodged the winners and backed the placed only/unplaced ones yet again - but it will come good.

Catch you tomorrow. Cool

56 races across UK & Ireland combined and hardly a speck of dust between them - let alone any filth!

I would consider betting a selection or even two-betting EW selections against the Favs in the 17:40 Wolves (Collinsbay) and 18:00 Chelmsford (Arabic Charm) if either of them were to shorten significantly in price - They both have a "lay profile" (imo) but their potential vulnerabilities look to be priced in at the moment imo.

So nothing filthy for me today unless there are some significant NR's somewhere during the day - or some significant market moves/NR's in either of those two races this evening. GL all.

The first at Ludlow is starting to look interesting... The fav hasn't run for 2 years and Ajero showed a pretty questionable attitude for me on debut Grey Spirits form is rock solid... Can't be out of the frame.....

I thought that too Skip but giving them all 12lbs was my concern. I know the Jockey takes off 7lbs but there is a reason for that. It's certainly a tempter. GL.

Also done Hollie EW (not gonna name the horse because the forum curse is feckin real imo!) in the 18:00 (thread bet). Average of about 9/2.

Arabic Charm the other Fav that I wanted to oppose (in addition to Collinsbay) is going to be each wayable soon, but sticking with a one-bet on Hollies mount.
By:
The Management

Happy enough with that - had a good day - disappointed for the thread P&L that I obviously can't count Rafiki as a thread bet - but pleased to have correctly identified a couple of short priced (or short tissue priced) favs that looked worth betting EW against.
By:
The Management

Think I might two-bet EW against every short priced fav that looks beatable tomorrow as thread bets - but my timing is still shot (with naming bets as thread bets), so probably best not to!

Todays Filthy EW thread bet:

18:00 Chelmsford: Messalina - EW - 2nd at 3/1 ISP Backed at average 7/2 (9/2 was a typo^ but I did get a little 9/2) = -0.30

I HAKE to disagree S..KIPPER....but can`t see past Crassus in the 2.00 Sligo (not a stayers track),if it stands up.....have a look at the form LINE through Scholastic....just a class above imo ?

Good afternoon guys - I was going to swerve the 14:00 Sligo altogether - I thought the fav (Crassus) looked the likely winner but was short enough for a horse that hasn't hurdled well yet - quite liked Skips selection (Battle of Benbulb) EW. I don't have much joy trying to discount (or bet on) GE's FTO'ers! (he always does me over - either way!) - and THEN also quite liked the idea of Made In Pimlico EW (at a much bigger price) and would probably prefer to do that at each of the respective prices. But if I can make a case for any of the first four in the betting (Doh!) - it doesn't really fit the thread criteria (EW Filth) imo - so I will swerve the race altogether - but GL to you both.

Looked at quite a lot of races today - not sure why - because a cursory glance last night indicated a non-filthy day - apart from the Cheltenham race that has now fallen apart due to NR's! - I might yet play in a couple of races - if the market shifts a bit - but I don't think any of them would be filthy enough to be EW thread bets. GL all.

There you go! - I know I pretty much covered all the bases (above) but Crassus can't hurdle imo - and the GE FTO'er confounds the market (was 2nd fav on the tissue but drifts like a barge) and bolts up at 13/2 ISP. Welcome to Ireland - and you're welcome to it (imo).

TM...you were SPOT(ted Dogfish) on re g EELiot FTO`ers......that maybe a decent recruit as the drift suggested it will come on for that, and it won with ease, leaving mine FLOUNDERing.
Unlucky Skip...horrible when 4th I know

yes 37+73 - that was a nice run. I can't get involved with him though (in terms of EW Filth) - as others with a very similar profile get backed and then jump like they have never seen a hurdle before in their life! - I find him a bit "all or nothing" which isn't really conducive to EW betting. GL.

And very impressed with all your fishiness!

Fair play Skip - it did look like a fair enough "bet to nothing" with 3 places getting paid EW on here.
