Hi Jon - the cards for today looked really good last night - I was focussing on the 14:00 Newbury, 14:15 Sedgefield and 15:32 Thurles - but all of those races are now ruined due to non-runners.
The 14:00 and 14:15 are still playable (on here only) imo. I don't like anything else much. GL |

I hope you did do the two-bet in the 13:22 Jon.
I'm gonna swerve the 14:00 (that I was considering playing in the EW market on here as still 3 places) Saturn n Silk has lost a leg in the win, place and therefore also in the derivative EW market - and the volumes available (in the normally tumbleweed) EW market are a bit too "fishy" for me. I hope I am wrong, it's horrible to dodge one because the price is too big. Maybe it will revert nearer to my idea of the right price before the race - but I will just watch this race with interest! GL |
|
By:
I know it's counterintuative - but much happier to see Saturn go of at 1.3x for the place than 1.6x!
|
|
By:
I have now played Genever Dragon EW (on here - with 3 places) at average of 10/3.
|
|
By:
That's frustrating - I seem to have developed a habit recently of selecting horses that won't settle or pull hard! - Both the very short priced favs struggled (14:00 & 14:15) with one (just about) winning and the other (only just) beaten - but no cigars for me and my selections on the filth today.

Hello TM. I didn't two bet them he market seemed to change so much pre race. The shape looked ok early on with the fourth fav as big as 16s with some firms. A strange couple of days. A bit of after timing but I did have a kids bet on the FTO in the 12.55 at 15/8. Lets hope tomorrow has bit more to offer.

hello all !!!!!........had a pop at a couple in the next at Kempton......TICH TOCK .....and ...EVALUATION.....
|
|
By:
Had a tiny pop at both first light and evaluation ew

I only had the one filthy EW thread bet today - and although the 4/11 fav proved beatable - it wasn't beaten by the EW selection that I chose to take it on with! - I took the "insurance" of betting EW against the fav on here (to still get the 3 places) but 4th place is still no good to anybody!
Todays Filthy EW thread bet: 14:15 Sedge: Genever Dragon - EW - Full Steak - 4th at 4/1 ISP (Backed EW on BF at average of 4.33) = -2.00 Daily Thread Bet Total: - 2.00 Running Thread Bet Total: + 13.98 See what tomorrow brings. GL. |

Possibly a couple of slightly more clear cut filthy each-way races today imo:
12:25 War: Wilde About Oscar - the most obvious selection in the race - but not mad about it at the current price (seems a bit short imo). 13:45 Hex: Stainsby Girl - looks an EW no brainer on the betting shape/maths. Not quite a filthy enough race - but possibly interested in Illustrator EW (16:30 Newcastle) And then, not filthy at all but later on (depending on prices) - I might be interested in again somehow opposing/betting EW against the cheek-piece wearing Thowq (17:00 Newcastle) and also somehow betting against Colour Sergeant (17:15 Dundalk). GL. |

Morning TM. I'm going to be out most of he afternoon so it's gonna be a case of getting on sharpish for me.
Wilde About Oscar and Stainsby Girl (A song wrote about a school at the end of our road) are the obvious ones and i'll be on both. Like you I like the shape of the 5.15 Dundalk even though it's not filth and i'll be backing Zozimus ew. The other race that caught my eye, again not filth, is the 5.00 at Newcastle with 6 of the ten runners priced between 80/1 and 150/1. I might have a look at that later on. GL today everyone. |
|
By:
Missed the boat on Wilde About Oscar and won't be playing unless theres a drift back out.
|
|
By:
Same here Jon (12:25) -
But had now had a lot of little bits and pieces EW (which when combined amount to a Full Stake EW) on Stainsby Girl at 7/2 (13:45). GL. |

Will Sting interesting me now ............Bumper form working out well........
|
|
By:
12.25 no eachwayable. Fraternal.

12.25 now eachwayable. Fraternal.

The issue with the price of Wilde About Oscar has resolved itself! - I thought it was a bit short - I assume now that was people in the know pumping up the reduction factor
![]() . The the new market has an even nicer (more filthy) shape than before - but it's not a race for me. Swerved. GL. |
|
By:
just the fact he ran at Fakenham puts me off don"t rate the form at that track at all........
|
|
By:
Won a four runner race is a slow time (not that I'm a time guy) - and I don't like the trainer (unless his runners are backed) - but that's the beauty of the filthy EW - sometimes they can run like a drain and get beat by a distance - and you still only lose buttons (relatively speaking).

1.55 Curragh looks like a fit on shape

BOOM!

NICE!!!!!!!!

Gonna swerve it Jon - last 2 runs a worry imo but GL will be cheering it on!
|
|
By:
13:45 an absolute classic in every sense - especially the result..
|
|
By:
Fill the Power gave it a shot for you Jon - very limited damage done.
Please tell me you were all over the 13:45 winner? |
|
By:
Yep I was on full stake TM. Everyone around here was it's a Chris Rea song written about his wife (she went to Stainsby school). As good a reason to back it as any I suppose !!!!
|

![]() Well done Jon - apart from At Ease (19:30 Chelmsford) on 29th October - that 13:45 at Hexham is the filthiest EW race we have had since starting the thread imo. A proper classic shape - although admittedly the thread would have been pretty sparse if sticking to only the absolutely perfectly shaped races. It's why I struggle to play some of the (imo) less filthy races - they just don't compare - and it's hard to justify the stakes (by comparison) but so few beauties like that today. GL. |

That's me done for day (on Filthy Each Way Bets)
As I posted earlier, I think there are a couple of interesting non-handicap races later with favs I would like to oppose (17:00 Thowq & 17:15 Colour Sergeant) - but both are probably quite capable of winning their races today and could even become EW bets themselves if they drift (everything has a price). So at current prices (or shorter), I would much prefer to oppose them with something EW against them rather than just laying them. I also (at current prices) prefer Illustrator to Silvestris in the 16:00. However none of these races are filthy (imo) - and both my views and my EW bets could change if the market changes significantly. Back to the Filth - a very pleasing day: Todays sole Filthy EW thread bet: 13:45 Hexham: Stainsby Girl - EW - Full Steak - 1st at 3/1 ISP (Backed EW at average of 4.50) = + 4.20 Daily Thread Bet Total: + 4.20 Running Thread Bet Total: + 18.18 GL all. |

Well done today fellas.....get those bookies battered

Good Evening 37+73 - one of those rare days where I think my initial view on pretty much every race was accurate. What's even rarer is the fact that I managed not to change my mind on most of them as the day progressed

Well done TM and all, yes an obvious selection at Hexham today, one for the good guys!
Tomorrow looks absolutely as clean as a the very cleanest whistle (no filth whatsoever IMO), looks like a day off to be doing other things the question is what can we do though? |
|
By:
Hi Biffmeister - a sad day indeed - last day of the flat (turf)
and as you say the jump cards today look pretty "clean". The twig-hoppers aren't really my thing anyway - I don't much like betting EW in beginners/novice chase races (which rarely attract as many as 8 runners these days anyway!) - I will probably play a few hurdle races and I do like my Tapeta, the Polytarck and especially the Fibresand at Southwell - so I will probably keep the thread going for a bit and see what the gods of odds bring our way. |

Having TRAWLED through today`s abSOLEute dross... 4.10 Naas ...Cafe Con Leche 11/4-5/2 e/w.....only one for me

and at 1.35-1.4 in the 4 tbp market maybe the catch of the day !!!!
|
|
By:
That race isn't leaping of the page at me as an EW race - but I hope you win a few squid. GL
|
|
By:
I can't see anything over here so out of desperation i'm off to the Breeders cup for some ew semi dirt.
5.02 Keenland Serengeti Express 3/1 8.54 Keeneland Swiss Skydiver 5/2. Preference is for the latter but it's purely because I like races with big priced third or fourth favs. I'm clutching at straws if i'm honest. |

I thought I was brave going over the SEA to the Emerald Isle !!!!!....good luck Jon

|
By:
should have won......not the jocks finest ride to say the least...what a POLLOCK !!!!! Plaice money was a nice catch

It did appear to end the race with a turbot charged finish - not the best timed ride. UL
