Tomorrow evening we see the debut of the yard’s frankel  foal Frankuus who races over 7f at haydock (7:45), I hope it runs well for them.

4:10 Newbury Shadow Game: Current Price 11.0

This horse won a modest mdn at HQ last august over 6f before looking totally out of it’s depth in a class 2 at Ayr.A couple of spins over 6 and 7f on the aw at Lingfield this spring when resuming as a 3yo. I noted this horse as being a likely type that would prefer a straight galloping course than the tight speedy lingfield track, it took time to get going and just kept rolling strongly when winning it’s mdn at Newmarket.It should easily get this 7f as a 3yo and it’s come down the weights a bit now to hopefully be very competitive in an average looking class 5 over these conditions.

5:25 Yarmouth Miniaturist: Current Price 8.2

I thought this one ran a cracking race on it’s return at big odds at Leicester only buckling late on over the 1m60y course to finish just out of the frame.Ridden with more restraint in a 12k class 3 race next time out at Musselburgh saw it a bit free and at one point there seemed some interference which saw it throw the head around and lose stride near rear before regaining it’s momentum.It wasn’t beaten up by any means getting into 4th and it gets a class drop here, I Think racing closer to the pace it could be another well placed runner if wanted with Liam Jones getting the call.

This Horse has also not won since it’s mdn success, this time a 5f contest last june at Newcastle.It was up to a mark of 91 after decent listed and conditions efforts, it’s been gradually coming down the grades since.Last race showed plenty of speed over 6f when going head to head at a kamikaze pace with Justice Angel, If ever there was a case of cutting each other’s throats this was a great example.Tomorrow’s race see’s a drop into a class 4 and a drop to 5f and a return to  straight track, all of these things are a positive for me and I think this should be able to play a big part here.

Into the red on here again after yesterday's trio.Miniaturist was quite well supported but folded very tamely from 2f out, certainly no step forward there. Shadow Game may perhaps enjoy a return to a straight 6f on that evidence, treading water the last 100 yards after being on the pace.Plagiarism showed a lot more yesterday can't complain about that run at all.

I'm going to ease off until the 3yo+ horses are firing a bit more like normal (1-14 so far this week in turf hcps)

I don't mind failing by missing winners if he's striking somewhere near the normal rate, in this group, but as mentioned last weekend these runners have been under performing in general so far this season.

A good week for the 2yo's though 4-7 on turf.

What do you make of Riflescope Striding ?
He gave it a very positive write up in the stable tour
First go at 5f was hopeless, the Chester run proved he can't cope with 5f but ran on strongly enough under a gentle ride.
Now a couple of pounds lower sticking him in a very hot race with a claimer up - not too familiar with the lad ?
33/1 probably going to tempt me in.

Renfrew Street out again striding should win I have her in multis with Caravaggio and Mister Trader
That Carlisle race R S made her comeback in has been well franked the last few days 2 winners including Al Shahaniya 12/1 yesterday but I was too thick to back her but should know better by now

I wrote in my book that I would back her at 2/1+ and multi if shorter I think she shouldn't be bigger than 6/4
The biggest worry for me is her not running a race at all though she is so much on the up and has plenty in hand that shouldn't be a factor yet
