........Having spent quite a bit of this afternoon focusing on Saturday & Sundays cards, I did cast my eye over tomorrows offerings, with only 1 race making ny shortlist for potential betting opportunities. That race is on Wolverhampton's evening card, with James Bethell's gelding Rich Again the one that has really caught my eye in terms of a wager.


Plenty look to hold half chances, with interesting runners such as the lightly raced Musharif and Renounce are  most likely to be better than their current respective marks. Mighty Zip could be another on a very winnable mark, with Oriental Relation also falling now  below his last winning mark, which makes for an extremely interesting race.

Rich Again is starting to also look well handicapped again, he too has fallen 7 lbs below his last winning mark, ironically that was the last time he ran over C/D, that win the culmination of a quick fire 4-timer. The third leg in the sequence of that run was a win in the renewal of tomorrow's contest, that off a mark of 75, tomorrow he tries to follow up off a 2lb lower mark of just 73. The best time to catch him maybe around this time of the year, with his last couple of winter campaigns from mid December through to the last week of January producing a form line of  1-2-1-1-1-1 in his 6F contests, marks ranging from 60-80, with his best form of his life coming within those runs on an artificial surface. It pretty much looks like James Bethell has once again targeted him at this race, and I have the feeling he served notice to his well-being Lto over an inadequate 5F on course mid December.

That day P J McDonald rode his usual patient race, and despite never quite being placed to get competitive he rattled home under mainly hands and heels driving. The time was fairly good, with that contest also throwing up some subsequent winners, and the assessor even saw fit to drop him a couple of pounds for those exertions. As alluded to this is the first time connections go back to 6F on track in best part of a year, and tomorrow's race is almost guaranteed to be run to suit, with the likes of Mighty Zip sure to try and make all, with Oriental Relation and Guishan sure to keep him honest in that respect. Having done my workings I was making the tea ( equality and all that shoite), but keeping an eye on odds checker for the prices to filter through, typically I missed the 10-1 with a firm that I can get the amount I'm betting with on, but did manage to get £3.43 E.W. on with PP at that price(generous to a fault). Despite that I'm happy to have the rest on at 8-1 and settle at the same for the thread(if fortunate enough to), but even the  13-2 / 7-1 still on offer holds some value Imo.

Can't blame you for taking a flyer on Billyoakes at the prices Fatlad, he will also have the race run to suit his late flourish, and the yard have landed some monster gambles of late with Money Team and Play Nicely(admittedly they didn't follow up, but pretty sure they were winning when it really mattered), both had the assistance of Philip Makin. It would be extremely interesting if any such money came for him throughout the day, given the fact he seems to like the surface at Wolverhampton. GL

Which leaves your selection Glastonberry who looks better h'capped on turf imo and may just need this run and the horse i think has a decent chance in Yeeoow! Yeeoow runs well here with a C/D record of 12128442 from marks between 75-90, has also ran excellent races on GF ground on turf over 6fs, winning a C3 h'cap at Ascot off 90 and a close 2nd to Goldream at Newmarket from the same mark.
I think that Mr Burke may have been running him on the slower surface at Chelmsford to get the h'capper to drop him a few pounds and it seems to have worked as in 3 runs there he's dropped 5lbs.

I thought Silsol looks a veery good value bet tomorrow at 7/1.  Black Hercules takes a lump out of the market but is very beatable.  You can every go ew (1/4 1-2) for the more cautious.

Rich Again was very flat and didn't finish the race off so probably a race to put a line through for him.

Good luck with Upsilon Bleu, I've followed this horse 'over a cliff' since it's last win at Wetherby over a year ago and it looks like I'll be backing it again tomorrow, I think Whispering Harry could run well too.

.....Tomorrow Upsilon Bleu runs in Wetherbys 14.05 contest, but I'm lead to believe through a friend that this was very much plan B in terms of a run, Kelso was his original target but has been abandon on account that parts of the course are waterlogged.

I'm not usually one to boast about having inside information, but I did work with a woman that is extremely friendly with Pauline Robson, having gone to points with her on numerous occasions, also lending a hand from time to time transporting a horse and tacking it up at the races, and all the other duties that goes with getting a horse to and from the races.  Any how we got on talking one day about some of her favourite horses Pauline trains, she advised she absolutely loved Upsilon Bleu, who she had assisted to the course on a few occasions, going on how he was a bit of a monkey in the paddock blah..blah..blah.. I text messaged her on his seasonal debut at the end of November to see if he was fancied, jokingly asking will I get Christmas paid for. She text Pauline who advised her that she had not had him back long from Raymond's, he was 10 Kilo heavier than he normally was when he comes back in and was as fat as a bull, she said he'd definitely need a couple of runs at least, but his initial target would be some race at Kelso in January which would be a nice pot of about £20K, but more so it was because Raymond Anderson his owner loves having winners on the track.


The one thing they have always stated about this horse is the deeper the ground the better he is, with the ground at Wetherby certainly that presently. However they were favouring a 21F race on a fairly demanding track, where as plan B equates to 16F on a flat track, but did win on his only try over C/D off a mark of 143, and at least has perfect underfoot conditions in his favour. Well I've been told he's fit, fancied and not badly handicapped, and were desperate for James Reverley to maitain the partnership which is the case tomorrow.
Despite the stable confidence I really liked him any how, but it's always nice to be in the position to have that confirmed almost from the horse's mouth, I'm hopeful that he can run well tomorrow.
