If you paid any intellectual person £50k a year to pick horses theyd produce better results than Tom Segal
|
|
By:
The worst thing about him is that he is granted prices that are not available to joe punter..
And still those freaks cannot make it pay.. Anyone that follows the goon (who does an hours work per week - trainer in form - horse on a lower handicap mark -jockey booking - good trainer comment in the soon to be published racing post) cannot win. |

Anyone who thinks his job is easy has never been under the pressure of having to make his bets.
But it may be time for someone else to take up the mantle. Pays £100k. Come and have a go if you got the chops. |

If there is sound criteria to your selection process
If you have at least five years of data And each year a level stake profit is achieved If the selections over this period amount to at least 1000 - 1500 bets Then LLRs will be known Whatever is the maximum, double it. This then becomes the Bank you start with ( level stakes) With this Bank there will be a sufficient cushion with which to comfortably operate .One that will absorb any losing run. No need for panics, cold sweats or desperation and lack of confidence creeping in. The absolute key factor is to only bet with a unique, sufficiently large Racing Bank, completely separate from your living expenses. |

"if you got the chops" = yank

"if you got the chops" = yank. Wrong on this occasion, dunlaying, but please don't let it deter you. Post your selections in the races Tom Segal has to choose from, and see if you can beat him.
Good luck! ![]() |

Yes, it is.

try a few poker books for dealing with losing runs and bankroll management.
a lot of the mathematics and theories translates well to sports betting. |
|
By:
it's a bit like flipping a coin a thousand times, it's an even money shot but you will get runs of 8 or 9 or more in a row coming up the same result

toms jugements there tipped up 3 horses just one to good all started well below advised price, tom must think hes cursed
gutted about line of reason had 13/2 this morning looked all over the winner |

You guy`s have this all wrong......... he must select from the C.4 races...... usually tough handicaps....... and I for one know`s he does not punt all his selections..... Yes his Ante-Post stuff is poor too, but again he is forced to select a horse at a certain time of the year. So to answer he can`t pick or choose his races he is FORCED to select from those races.
Mr Taylor..... can choose which race he wants...... I can tell you for sure if an all-weather meeting was on every Saturday I say it`s 1/8 shot he will select from that meeting. Wait until the jumps starts........ three NH meetings on along with an ALL-weather meeting Mr Taylor will choose the sand first 9 times out of 10 (why) because Hugh rarely bets over jumps, along with Kevin Blake who rarely bets on NH in Ireland. |
|
By:
Thank you, easygold, that's cleared that up.
|
|
By:
No Problem G.B....... feel free to ask anything about tipping.........
|
|
By:
So let's get this straight, pricewise picks in televised races on terrestrial TV and St Hugh likes to pick them on the AW during the winter?
|
|
By:
If the sand is on ......... most definitely...... no question about it..... and if therE is no sand on his must select something from somewhere in the U.k AND i CAN TELL you he won`t be punting on it.
|
|
By:
Thanks for your contribution, easygold, we're all a lot more enlightened now. Cheers.

|
By:
No problem.........

couldn't they start ShortWise
shortest price of the day |
|
By:
Or even Laywise
|
|
By:
biwise
you guess wether it's a back or lay |
|
By:
How about Ernie Wise.

By:
When the racing post is in bed with most bookmakers, price wise "tipping" all those losers would be in agreement with the philosophy of both parties, therefore tom Segal's position will never be untenable judging by his results.
|
|
By:
I think the reality of the situation is that Pricewise is largely irrelevant to bookmakers win or lose . There can't be much doubt that the machines have brought in more money than his 59 losers - and if he starts to win again the happy sound of machines eating tens and twenties will help them forget the pain - the main reason I don't want him to win is that I don't want to see Simon Clare et al given a platform to spout their rubbish about losing a fortune

By:
Martyn Ford from Ascot is pretty quiet on this fred.
|
|
By:
it has to be in the 90s of losers if you put in the extras and tom on sundays...
never know today may be the start of a rescue mission , the extra is 5.10 cork deadly catch |
|
By:
it is true that Tom's hands are tied to a degree as he has to bet in certain races, also there seems to be a restriction on tipping more than 1pt win or 1pt e/w. I'm sure he would go more points on certain bets if he was allowed. Having said that Ben Linfoot is tipping in exactly the same way as Tom does and makes consistent profits
