With the benefit of hindsight a case can be made for Hawk Mountain . It is possible that I underrated his win over Geryon and Al Haarith . Underrated by 8lb which would put him level with the favourite . He is unbeaten at a mile and has Autumn form . Also he goes on any ground and can be sent forward . Double entered but this is his best shout as he might be seen just as a pacemaker . Speculative and risky .
Needle Match must be better than +13 . His run in The Greenham makes him overpriced at 100/1 .

The top figure for Battle Fever is nursery form . The bottom figure is his Sales race run behind Sun Goddess . The real figure probably sits between the two . In The Goffs he had two nice horses behind him namely Sped Of Sound and Satellite Of Love . At 2lb per length surely he is worth an each way bet at 25/1 . The 25/1 is with Betfair so it is likely to be bigger elsewhere .
A fine looking race . The figure for Raging Bull is provisional but certainly feasible .
EDIT: All the talk is about the first two but Gentle Hurricane has run really well . I think he might appreciate a little cut and do not forget that he is 4 months younger than the winner and a month behind the runner up . One To follow perhaps . I have watched the replay plenty of times and the little Balding colt is not dropping away , he is sticking to the task .

Re The Arc , It is clear that Daryz has run 2lb better than last year . Just as obvious is the fact that Maltese Cross was overrated for his Voltigeur victory : but from the revised rating he would have won the Leger by 3 lengths . (One can but hope that ITV employ an expert to be the paddock judge . Mr Pitiful and Miss Cumani can not cut it . Mrs Mulrennan or Miss Hislop are excellent judges .)
Friendly Soul ran a blinder as did Thundering On . Maybe Joseph's filly will be back next year .
Oisin proved yet again that he is the best .

The figure for Cheeky Chesca looks iffy and is much better than anything else that she has done . It was over C/D on Good ground .Edit : oh no it wasn't it was at Ripon . Disregard her .
The lays look obvious as Daryz and Maltese Cross are far too short .
If you believe the Irish form for Saddadd then he is +3 but that would assume that both Almaqam and Bay City Roller ran to their best on faster ground . With hindsight you could kid yourself that they did .
Light The Ghost looks overpriced if the intention is to run .
