I have left a few out .
Alderman ran a good race at Epsom and seemed to shore up my figure for Water To Wine .
I am having second thoughts about Bay Of Brilliance . He was going nowhere close to home in The Derby . Unless there was an excuse he looks as if 11f is his limit in the top grade . With hindsight there was a suspicion of that at Lingfield . I will continue to follow him however .

Some people still fail to see how good Bay City Roller is . " A good horse in the mud " they say . But it was not mud at Chester or The Curragh .

Do remember that it is 2lb a length for both races .

Ombudsman's win at Sandown is puzzling , In short he ran as if he had no penalty on his back or he is a superstar or he is so strong that he did not notice the extra 7lb . I have opted for the last option . Others put it down to the lack of pace through part of the race , It is curious that people arrive at the same conclusion given that they use completely different methods .
Bedouin Prince ran a fine race as both he and Arabian Light were only there to ready themselves for Ascot . He ran 7lb below the high figure that I had him on so he really could be a good group horse .
Arabian Light might have improved too .

The figure for Causeway is 8f form .
Fourth at Chantilly A Boy Named Susie paid a compliment to Christmas Day .
If Action runs he is likely to shorten up as many will spot the line with Benvenuto Cellini and Hawk Mountain .

In fact only seven qualified ,, the other three were Raheeb , Joulany and Port Ferdinand . The last named has earned a rating of 92 .

I would have no worries about Colin Keane .
As for handling the track Lester said that if they are good enough they will handle it .
And for the Lingfield form my concern is that the third horse holds it back . Balzac became upset before the race and pulled his chance away during it .  Under the circumstances a Derby winner should have finished more than seven lengths in front of him . The trainer of Balzac says that he was short of a gallop at Lingfield .
Last season was dreadful for young Hannon . His babies were useless but now he is back on song I would not write off Alderman with respect to the place only markets . With interpolation it would be easy to push the horse up a few pounds .

The figure for Bay City Roller is from Munich on heavy ground , it is not from his close second to Daryz . He has not got the class of Calandagan but he is not without his chance .

Beautify was second to Precise with Venetian Sun 2 1/2 lengths back in third last season . That is why she is so high in the list and she could be place value . 33/1 with Betfair so probably 50/1 or better elsewhere .

Beautify was probably flattered and is unlikely to get home .

Amelia Earhart looks short . Plenty of ability but she could boil over .
The figure for Precise goes beyond the norm but the form can not be read any other way . One "expert " , after a visit to Ballydoyle , said the vibes were that she was not ready yet . To this rank amateur she looked plenty ready enough even though both horse and rider looked untidy in the last furlong .


Almaqam did nothing that he has not done before .
