Well beaten by Danedream in the Arc last year and if the last named is anything like back to his best he`ll take all the beating in my opinion. If you are going to back SNA at least wait until the declarations tomorrow.

Danedream was a freak result imo,Don't think SNA will win the KG either though,Needs to go left handed if his record is anything to go by,and ground will be against him,as will the track,Enough negatives to be taken on,

Gandalf got it right he doesn't like the mud. Remember the Curragh? I'd backed the other Ballydoyle second-string that day Plain

review his form . what has he ever won ? weak runnings of the coronation cup( twice) , bc turf and rp trophy is the answer . and what has happened when he's faced better horses ? he's finished down the field .

sure he's good , but he's also vulnerable against genuine gr1 animals, and at 2s he is - or was - the lay of the season ,imho , regardless of whether the ground is soft or not.

Just check Ladbrokes price - v - the rest of the big bookmakers, that will tell you what chance the horse has.Mischief

Dunaden or Nathaniel for me. I think Nat is just the best but has he recovered from his eclipse efforts? Dunaden would have beaten Sea Moon last time with a clear run.

Agreed sageform, Nathaniel for me, excellent run on seasonal debut over 10 furlongs. Gosden wouldn't run him if he hadn't recovered.

Interesting article about St Nicholas Abbey and his chance here: http://www.theirishfield.ie/site/article.php?id=2184&cid=5

This is usually spot on but confusingly he's 2/1 with Ladbrokes and bigger prices with everyone else.

Ladbrokes are "very close" to the Obri camp,
No worries about a Right hand track and St.N.A. looked an improved horse at Epsom or back to his very best lets say,on his Breeders Cup win,he is a Deserved Fav.
I am also worried about the Recovery time for Nathaniel, but J.Gos knows more than me.

Think i might take a chance with Deep Brillante,The japanese are more often than not under rated when they send one over.

I'm feeling Dunaden to win, too easy to look past SNA and Sea Moon. Nathaniel is interesting though.

Cannot see SNA winning this race. Between Sea Moon and Nathaniel assuming proper gallop on ground with some ease in it. Slight worry regarding whether Nathaniel would have recovered from Eclipse makes Sea Moon the bigger bet. Anything 3-1 or above on either is great value imho.

Very little rain now forecast for Ascot,if this is right people shouldnt forget how fast this gaff drains.

Not one doubt in my mind. John Gosden has clearly stated that Nathaniel would improve massively for the run in the Eclipse. I get the feeling this one is going to be awesome this season. Great race in prospect!Devil

Don't really understand why Lanigan didn't run Main Sequence in this instead of the Grand prix de paris last week.

I dont know what to say to thatConfused

there's multiple proven not potential Grp 1 animals in this race

there was nowhere near the same strength to the Grand Prix

Ye,and how would that scare off the connections of MS?
a totally unexposed horse who was runner up to an exceptional derby winner.

The short straight on the round course is unlikely to suit St Nicholas Abbey, imho - a high draw might also be a problem for a horse that seems to take his time to find top gear...

Pick up a weak Grp 1 for the CV or be unplaced in a strong Grp 1

you choose

SNA needs them to go a mad pace, otherwise he has no chance,Takes forever to get into top gear.
i'm sure Windsor palace will go flying off in front but he'll just be ignored.

sea moon is the best bet out of the top 3 in the market, danedream and the japanese horse would be foolish to write off

Nice race but a bit of a minefield.

The only 2 horses that need to run to form to win are Nathaniel and Danedream.
St Nic through both of the above must improve.
Sea Moon through Dunedin and Red Cadeux and St Nic will have to improve.
Dunedin will have to improve to beat Sea Moon and St Nic.
Reliable Man could be a fly in the ointment through Fahrr. Fahrr was just beaten by Nathaniel and RM ran as good as Farrh in the POW just never had the run of the race. But I'm not sure whether that raises his form or brings down the others. Anyway if he runs the same race as in the POW will be right there next to Nathaniel. It was however Nathaniels first run.

So I think Danedream wins from Nathaniel and Reliable Man.

Does it really matter to flat horses which way round a track is, as it's as if the finishing lines involve going around a bend so once they straighten up it's irrelevant which way the track turns and any supposed preferences seem more relevant to jump horses anyway.

I'd also question whether then draw is much of a factor in a 12f race too.

Drawn 1 at Ascot can be a problem and sometimes the horse on the rails gets the best strip of ground and that is where Nathaniel will be. I don't see the way round will be a problem for any.
