Duncan, yes Hugh is up 1000 plus points because he can get on...

Anyone following him would be well down because after a while you have to take at the most 70% of his advertised prices. If they lose that is no problem.......

Cannot understand why the "bookmakers" cut his prices so much as he only wins to a small percentage, but this is in the era of Corals staff blowing a whistle if they take £10 on a horse !!

Duncan you are the original horses arse and no wonder the spanker loves you !!

I said "I cannot understand why the Bookmakers cut their prices so much"....

So much means that if Hugh (I do not bet) posts a 16/1 shot do not cut the price to 9/1.....

Make it a 12/1 shot and you will still make bundles.....

Clearly he makes a profit at advised odds, but those prices are not available unless you are terminally clueless or set up enough accounts to make internet subterfuge a full time job.

Who does this benefit - well surprise, surprise it's the bookmaking industry, who get to snuff out the value while barely laying a bet, and take the money of those brain dead enough to still want to be on the selections once they've slashed the prices.

Even those who can agree that he's a phenomenally successful tipster would have to accept that the column he writes, which highlights price rics so that those offering them can close them faster than The Road Runner on acid, is totally anti-punter, and we'd all be better off if it didn't exist.

What's most obscene of all, is that ATR know this, but still continue to present the column as if it is some sort of panacea for losing punters, when all it's really doing, after the bookmakers have slashed their prices without laying anyone, is encouraging them to place exceptionally poor value bets...

if you are referring to me yorky, nowhere have i said i obtain the prices Hugh puts up...i dont try...but that figure does reflect his ability as a tipster (and is why the bookies run for cover)

Perhaps I centre 9-45 - 11am 7 days a week on being awake (no matter how hungover or tired I am) and having Hugh's twitter feed open, all my accounts open and being a keyboard ninja to ensure I always get at least 90% of advised price. Most days (like today) i got advised price, and sometimes bookmakers who he doesn't mention have them laid higher (though happens rarely). So those bitching about never getting the price just don't put the effort in imo.

I send out prices 24 hours in advance of most races, some on here recieve them i've been keeping track for the last sixteen week and to 1p level stakes +160 points, averaging probably 10 picks a week.Work that little r.o.i outWink
all written up and prices sent out between 4pm and anywhere between 12am,the prices are getting decimated and miles infront at sp obviously.Looking at the way the prices are contracting i would imagine there are hundred getting on early and thousands reading and passing on also.Cool

yes, we have lives.

Putting everything else on hold for an hour each morning is possible, there's even the 20+ minutes between selections. Anyways while waiting on first selection I predict it will be the catterick 3.50 :)

Yip i hear ya, John's crowd have me limited to 50p bets on anything now too, once all the bookies get onto me it'll be time to look into the IP address carry on that people here talk about...

I have to concede the 20/1 went faster than usual this morning.

Hi dunc/millh/gigs/ I admit I havent read all the posts but have done first and last pages of thread, so apologies if its been said, but what has Hugh said if someone has just asked if he'd put up SP ROI alongside the 'advised stakes' return on atr site? tia. obvviously it ( might! ) resolve a few of the moans on the thread?

Surprised no one on here or Hugh on atr talks more about bankroll.
The vast majority of punters dont have a big tank.
Because he backs big prices and often has long losing runs he MUST tell people they need a massive bank or have tiny bets from a big bank or run a MASSIVE risk of going bust.

1) You can get very little on his selections at anything like advertised prices.
2) You will go broke unless you have a large bank.

Basically he is a nightmare for the majority of punters regardless of big profits long term at early prices.

He understands race analysis and should just do the form factor without explicit tips.

healthy loss at SP, i think, hornshoe....inevitable...not a tipster alive who could turn an SP profit if the odds on their selections are halved the moment they put them up.
