10k bank at the start of the run, nearly half of it gone at £100 a pop
Your head will be gone, dreading another 10 losers |

Everyone knows that Hugh is a good judge however a run of 50 losers in a row is unacceptable, I think most people would struggle to match this achievement lol
Noticed last 5 days or so that the prices are getting shorter - question is then? where is the value with these selections? Giving out 10/3 11/4 4/1 9-2 shots etc Alot of his selections recently have come nowhere, i would think the guy is feeling like sh1t just now and is desperate for a winner, it will come but when??? I dont think we will see too many 12-1 and 14-1 shots for a while lol |
By:
are the prices still shortening on his selections when given out ?
By:
Another loser today. Now 4.9k down if you were unlucky enough to start at the beginning of the run
By:
Its very difficult to get on at top price as you have so little time but I find you can get on with good chunk if just under the top end price.
eg I managed to get £400 at 5-1 on Jennifer J at Ladbrokes (shop) Thats not bad considering how tight and miserable that lot are lol |

02 Jul 12 15:05 Everyone knows that Hugh is a good judge however a run of 50 losers in a row is unacceptable as has been pointed out elsewhere on the thread, such a losing run is odds-on to happen in any given year when tipping at the sort of prices he tips at |
By:
if you got that much on a hugh taylor selection at ladbrokes then you must be a big time loser
By:
You can get on ok provided its not top price though you wouldn't want to get on at any less than say 10% of the top price.
I never backed his other selection - wayyyyyyyyyyyy to short!! The shop used to do best odds for a while and they took most bets, might just depend on the shop/area etc might be different round the country, I only use them as the other shops like corals/hills/bfred take a max of 50 lol |

how does this fat mug get a job tipping ?

Im sure Hugh will be destraught being called a mug by an idiot like kingG111111
By:
50 losers in a row, whos the mug ?
By:
I called you an idiot though going by your tipping you are a mug as well.

I thought you were going to leave the forum if Hoofit lost on saturday.

all my other winners make up for it, anyway the question is...how does this fat mug get a job in tipping ?

----same old over-elaborate pontification, but the luck's dried up.--------and for all the apologists talking about the ease and inevitability of tipping 50 consecutive losers----hit the lay button, and try it !
I genuinely hope that Mr Taylor,(seems a nice friendly guy) can turn it round, because it's starting to get a bit embarrassing for all concerned-----actually,I started backing 'em about 3 days ago, so the sooner, the better ! |
By:
if only he could lose calories as easy as he can tip up losers....
By:
and for all the apologists talking about the ease and inevitability of tipping 50 consecutive losers----hit the lay button, and try it !
mathematical models illustrate that if you laid 2-3 horses a day at around 10/1, you would be likely to enjoy a winning streak of 40+ at some stage during the year...however, rest of the time you could well do your brains and only takes 4 or 5 losers to wipe out those profits. |
By:
you dont just lay horses because they are 10 to 1 or so , got to be to do with form etc surely.

are they still going to have 'the yawn factor' on Wednesdays on this new ATR?

By:
so whats your point then duncan
By:
of course no-one would lay horses just cos they were 10/1 (or 40/1 or 85/40 or whatever)...the 10/1 figure was used by Hugh cos he reckoned that was close to the average odds of his selections and he wanted to ascertain the likelihood of a losing run of 40 using those average odds in any 12-month period(which you can do using mathematical models)....
so in short, it was a point about mathematical models, not a laying system...and yes, if you were laying you would usually want to take things like form into account. |
By:
Yet again I will come on late to the debate....
Hugh Taylor..Nice work if you can get it... Someone has made a shed load of money by laying those 50 losers at probably 60% of the advertised price.... |
By:
I think people are going way over the top about this run
lets say he is up 500pts the last 3 years and he has lost 55pts in this long losing run, its only ten% of the bank he can easily go on a small winning run to gain them points back gambling is all about winning and losing hoping to win more times than you lose. simples ![]() |
By:
he was up roughly 1250pts, valuebetting, before this run
By:
Starfish.."Hugh does not bet".......But he has friends who do..Probably 30 mins before his tips go online...
I just hope that they are not Russian with a losing run of is it fifty.... |

Hang on where has starfishs' post gone...

whos starfish ?
By:
Did he not have his biggest bet of last month on a 25/1 > 6s winner at Nottingham?
Shouldn't be problem for any long term followers, except that any new accounts/ IDs will be well and truly sussed for no return. |
By:
duncan I have seen that figure before but surely you have to take some sort of percentage off as only a very small percentage get the odds he recommended but I only used the 500 as a eg case.
I think losing runs are all part of gambling he is having a longer run than normal thats all. no big deal he has the bank to withstand it or anyone following him the past two years has |
By:
duncan i understand what your saying but do not think its relevent to hughs tipping of horses as many unexpected events can not be facted into a mathmatical model. Also you say he was 1250 pts up but the 1250 to me is pure fantasy the only person who can be 1250 pts up is hugh or his best mate !

He says so himself on the website. Do the math and you'll see. Big profits to be made going against him. Fair play, HE can make money, but given that the rest of us can't by backing, the rest of us clearly can by laying. |

he doesnt bet on his own selections....i wonder why....

I understand where you are coming from but surely he has proven that he (himself) can make a profit if you are as good as him, so if you don't agree with the 1250pts figure, give us a figure yourself what you think he is up even after this losing run if he is up 600pts, in my view thats fantastic which puts this losing run in to perspective. |
