Think Bluebook was owned by Stavros Niarchos, Sanquirico by Howard de Walden but could be wrong.
By:
freddie it won the museum maiden at the newmarket craven meeting at odds on. most cecil newcomers were odds on when i started betting
By:
I remember Vacarme, ridden by LP
I think the owner, Daniel Wildenstein, forbade Lester from riding any more of his horses after the race Touchy the French |
By:
i thought sanquirico was charles st george but wouldnt argue with you
By:
Be My Chief was an american bred 2 year old who looked a champion at 2 but didn't train on. Chimes of Freedom I seem to remember winning the Coronation Stakes.
By:
Was RB Chesne Cecils??
By:

Bluebook I think was bloomsbury stud from Mrs moss line Sanquirico won a stack of 2yrold races C.St George was Sweet Chesne his as well? As he also had R.B Chesne Cant recall Reine De Beute/Plumbe Tempeste where they Wildensteins Recall Vacarme & Buckskin from wildos Rakaposhi Lord Howerds Thorn Dance sheik mo Be My Chief won plenty of 3 yrold races Burrells? |
By:
tenby.......it was fav in the derby commander won...odds on .....the bookies in tenby would have gone under if it had won

By:
He was zil.
Owned by Charlie St George, and a son of the Brigadier.. |
By:
I also think Wildenstein angrily jocked off Walter in similar circumstances after clearing up 4 group 1s in a month and a half of action which led to the horse being named horse of the year
A bizarre man |
By:
reine d'beaute won her only 2 races.plumbe tempeste won his maiden on his only race
By:

Indian Skimmer was a cracking filly
One of my fondest memories is watching the Cecil string work on the Limekilns one superb July morning & followed them as they walked back across the top of Warren Hill with Indian Skimmer & Ref Point in the group. |
By:
Henry trained Wolver Hollow who was the sire of Wollow, Both won the Eclipse although Wollow got it after Trepan was chucked out after his Trainer won the "Chemist of the year" award and when "Clean" was well behind Cecils charge in the Benson and Hedges

Old Vic will always be my favourite Cecil horse. Massive stride looked like winning the KG at 4 but got beat by Cecil's other horse Belmez - I think Henry was pretty sick about that.
