mepoor: soz,but ........................
IN THE 2.50 HAYDOCK: VISIONS OF JOHANNA: your horse didnt beat a 211 days horse,VISIONS OF JOHANNA is well in front of that horse on form !! so why the diff in price ?? JOHANNA goes on the ground, ran well on SOFT ASWELL,but so well handicapped in my ratings it should be fav. Soz,but bet you know this, but HAYDOCK form is always good,so look at the last time at the course for "VISIONS OF JOHANNA" PRICE LOOKS BIG NOW !!!!!1[smiley:crazy]!!! |

yes your right ryan as the official rating is what the handicapper has him, but if you look at form all the time then i analyse what grade i think the horse is at the time being not in past, as current form the best to go by,then when you study the form the rating builds in to what its done lately, yes you can go further back and find if it finds its old form it can spring back up the rating quickly, but dont forget the handicapper is just a guy like us, so if you beleive you can study form , then i use my built in clock to rate the form.

Posted this and not sure if any use to you guys and gals..
Hi, Going to try and get some info to assist finding winners at certain courses.. first port of call will be Kempton.. I have had a look back over the last 38 races (Winning draws and RPR of winners) not actually viewed the races just gathered the data.. (These were all flat races) Out of the 38 races the average winning RPR was 64.9 (This covers all classes so just out of interest really) Seems a minefield in regards to the draws but races between 5 / 7f threw up the following: Draw In the money 14 races possible 42 places up for grabs 1 3 2 2 3 4 4 5 * 5 2 6 6 * 7 3 8 5 * 9 2 10 2 11 5 * 12 1 13 1 16 1 Races over a mile + Draw In the Money 24 races with 72 places up for grabs 1 7 2 7 3 7 4 9 * 5 7 6 9 * 7 5 8 6 9 2 10 5 11 2 12 4 13 1 14 1 Again 4 + 6 highest percentage of returns but notably again seems a pretty open affair as the number of runners per races averaged 9.. A snippet from a 'Draw Bias' website mentions the following: Kempton is an all-weather track, it is the only right handed all-weather course in the UK. The surface they use is a polytrack one, although it is felt to be deeper and therefore not as fast as both Lingfield and Wolverhampton . The course is generally a fair track with a cut away in the straight ensuring that there are few hard luck stories. Having said that the 5 furlong and 9 and 10 furlong races have a very short run-in and those distances definitely favour front running horses. Will stick my ratings on here today and continue to do so for all races at Kempton to see if any patterns form.. If anybody has anything they think could assist others in regards to Kempton then please feel free to assist.. Thanks in advance and good luck.. Kirty. |

you will notice in my initial pick id id say yours could improve but it needs to, as my horses 5th at haydock is best form here, yes i was shocked he got beat last time, but that was possible by a improver, and yours being suited better by soft not really abig play not less ground soft, as i said before i think its a good thing not less yours improves, maybe nice forcast there though.

SORRYMEPOOR.
but on the 6th of May I think VISIONS OF JOHANNA ran a better race than your horse, under the circumstances, better form, how do you read the form ?? |
|
By:
better suited by SOFT ??
24TH april: not beaten that far in a class 4 1m 30yds,on g/f at HAYDOCK !! 1£ OUT THE HANDICAP,239 SINCE LAST RUN,16/1~12/1. The trainers had a few good runners of late !! g/luck ![]() |

Speaking of maidens the maiden in which west leake bridge looks an above average maiden and will be interesting to see how he runs tomorrow.Colorado gold was well clear of the 3rd but that was a poorer maidens than West Leake Bridges but the winner in Fifth Ave looks above average. Is between those two IMO

hi bluenose i know you fancy yours, but on the day on question 24th i rate my horses form far superior on form, ok there is improvemnet in yours from that day as he showed in next race, but he still needs to improve alot to get close to mine,on day inquestion i rate that form , so i am sure mines will run a massive race, but its racing it makes fool of us at times.

good morning all.
west leake 6.30 sal. looks an improver, stayed 5f really well from a poor draw at bath last time to win a shade cosy. Extra furlong tonight should be no problem, slight negative is the draw but giving the fact he should be held up it mightn,t matter so much, at around 7/1 looks good value ew. billybob 00.17, agree it looks between the two, imo i thought wlb looked a tad one pace, if cg settles a little better i would expect him to beat him. gl today. |

hawaana form horse but trainer and horse stats at this track is off putting, plus sign jocky 1 ride. gl

Selections
Wetherby 17:15 Novice Hurdle Dice 11/4 (SJ) WIN Easy selection for me at the prices as I rate Dice to be around the 105 mark already and jumping improved significantly for only 2nd time over hurdles. Receiving 19lb off the favourite Quo Video, who is now rated 120 but only proved to be better than his 109 mark LTO.. It's ODDS ON too, definitely worth taking on. Mr Moonshine is the only other realistic danger and was a big eyecatcher LTO after basically being schooled round on his 1st time over hurdles. Has some very decent ptp form, but I don't think he enjoyed the quick ground LTO, and I still think he needs to step up in trip. Good luck! |
|
By:
Actually just found out that Tom David claimed 7lb on Quo Video LTO.. so he only won off a mark of 102. No 7lb claimer today either, but McCoy is on. Almost tempted to place lay the favourite at 4/1 ON
Can't help feel he is really vulnerable with a double penalty of 14lb. |

By:
Wetherby 16:15 Hcap Hrdl Cute N You Know It 12/1 BF/LB/SJ WIN
Won this race 2 years ago off a mark of 95 (92 with 3lb), running today off 64 with the 7lb claim in effect. The race is a ladies race, so having a good jockey is important. Isabel Tompsett has to be one of the best in the field, 10% SR over hurdles, 14% over fences.. very respectable for a amateur rider, regardless of sex. The horse has run pretty poor this season, only decent run was 2nd over fences off a mark of 78, but at least we know the horse still retains ability. Anyway it could easily come no where, but definitely worth a chance at 12/1 off this mark.. where Flying Doctor (the fav) is looking a now a lot more exposed and 25lb worse off with Cute N You Know It on their last encounter. Good luck!! |

mepoor , what do you use to study the form and do you watch all the reruns of tomorrows runner? curious because this thread has taught me a lot and not to rush in to backing horses . me been a lucky 15 man tends to pick out a load and combine the lucky 15s but i am begining to realise it is easier to make money on an horse to get placed.
i hada friend who died last year , who i know almost knew everything about racing , i went to is funeral and it came out in the church service that he had packed his job in to become a pro gambler . when he died he had 250k in his account. RIP Chev |

By:
hi sparta, first of all im sorry to here about your friend.
and thanks for being here as im just enjoying a new lease of life on here,as been betting since i was , well lets say very young. about 40 years betting |
|
By:
back to racing now, well the main thig i try to concentrate on is races run at good pace. i use the sporting life racing on net ,as find it very ease to get used to and you get all the form you need there.if you look at the form in a general format you can usually eliminate most of them by form ,very quick as there races arent working out.
then i try and study in depth the form of whats left, and you soon see what you think is the form horse, i some time look back at a race if i want to check the ground,as some time the ground stat on day is way out the times usually tell you that. |
