It will be an good race to watch. At the moment I cant see myself having a major bet to be honest
By:
i agree billybob, as i said on this thread earlier its hard to analyse a three year old race so soon, thats why i think if having a bet its got to be canford cliffs or no bet.

Good evening again,
Chepstow 5.10pm Good To Firm 1m14y Number of runners: 9 Chepstow is a specialists track. Its undulations have to be seen in the flesh to be believed and they tend to unbalance the big long striding horse. These undulations appear to favour front running horses at the course, who with a clever jockey on board can change the tempo throughout the race. * dnotes what is considered a good draw for the distance and number of runners (IMO) HORSE GRAND TOTAL Draw Effigy 18.1 8* Addwaitya 9.1 2* Ogre 14.1 6* Ocean Transit 10.1 7** Jesse James 7.1 3 Satwa Laird 4.1 5 Southandwest 6.1 9 Aroundthebay -12.9 4 Roman Glory -33.9 1 Looking at the above my plays would be Ocean Transit W/P savers on Ogre and Addwaitya.. GL.. |

By:
Im guessing your backing it on saturday then Mepoor
By:
i will billybob, as i bet dic k turpin last week in french and ran great race, so think it will need be a good horse to turn him over.
By:
you dont rate the one i fancy a little kirty, it was jesse james.
By:
I will without doubt be playing in running If I was doing Canford.I am probably wrong but I think we you see 2 O Brien runners go off like the clappers out front and stretch the field Canford will be tested. He may well rise to the test but on ething for sure is if he ends up going off as short as 2/1 he wont have my cash.I would want 3/1 on the off or better
By:
So Kirty, how did you come to that conclusion of Ocean Transit?
By:
Next Catterick 3.50pm..
Again these are just the rough ratings and you should make up your own minds. :) Catterick is a very sharp track, and like Brighton is certainly a racecourse for specialists. The round course is virtually downhill all the way from 7 furlongs out, and the 5 furlong races which start on a separate chute are also downhill all the way with the first furlong being quite an extreme downhill section. The course certainly doesn’t suit galloping types and is ideal for the small nimble horse. Right the top 2 rated are both course and distance winners so seeing it is a specialist track I will play these 2 in my selections, The * dnotes what are considered to be good draws (IMO) Makbullet could be one to watch but I will play the top 2.. GL. HORSE GRAND TOTAL Draw Mandalay King 17.1 2 Mr Wolf 13.1 7 Makbullet 14.1 8 Green Park 10.1 5 Gap Princess -0.9 1 Frognal -0.9 4 * Sea Salt -11.9 6 * Cian Rooney -15.9 3 Good To Firm 5f212y Number of runners: 8 |
By:
BBJ, when would you decide when to back CC in running then? Hoping this end to end gallop will actually settle CC, plenty keen enough in his races so I think the stronger gallop will suit more.
By:
Ryan, can I answer that in the morning please as the missus is banging on the floor asking what time am I coming to bed. :)
I shall be back online around 9ish anyway as I have to win the scoop 6 this weekend to pay for a nice holiday. Catch you all in the morning and as I said these are just IMO.. Good night. ![]() |
By:
Also mepoor I will go over them again in the morning and look into in more depth these are just the 1st findings.. will have updates for 10am. :) GN
By:
lol wow so it really takes you all night to think about why you select one horse
! Sweet dreams! |
By:
Ryan, it doesn't take me all night to say why I rate a horse the problem is as I said earlier I try and rate horse with the stats and info I have to hand, these are just my first thoughts and I do not want to say yes this horse will win because of blah blah blah as I don't have the racing jargon off to a tee at this young tender age,
I would rather try and explain the draw advantage and a little more but with an irate missus I have to go now. If I do put a selection up and people might be tempted to put money on the selection then I do want to try and have some kind of reasoning, |
By:
I was only messing! Hence the silly face.. not questioning your techniques. Just curious.
By:
My personal opinion Ryan is that when Fencying Master ran last day perhaps he tried to niggle at the pace a bit 1/3- 1/2 into the race as he was always up at the fraont a few times you see him perhaps trying to niggle keader on to force a bit more pace.He did himself a little bit of donkey work.Canford sat towards middle/late and did eventually pass Fencing comfortably 1 1/2 from home. But Im thinking that if fencing can sit in the middle and let a few others do the donkey work will he be better as he will have saved a bit more for the end.
In an answer to your Q ryan canford doesnt always settle early doors, yes a fast pace can help settle horses that run like that but some times what their looking for is cover so the jockey can switch them off and save the thinking for the finish,if 3 force the field out will Canford find cover to settle |
By:
Good morning Ryan and all. I know you were messing but I will try and give the reasoning this morning. just having some tea and toast then will crack on..
Lets hope for a profitable day today. ![]() |

Reasons I think Ocean Transit may run a good race today, first the trainers record at this course reads as follows,
Chepstow 5-30 17% +50.25 0-1 1-4 4-25 — 25% 16% -1.00 +2.50 +48.75 Jockey last 14 days Jim Crowley 3 - 21 14% +8.50 The horse has won at the course which is always a plus here and weight today 8-9 Again this is just my opinion and I could have it totally wrong and be shot down by Jesse James. ;) |
By:
True BBJ, you make some good points.. guess we'll find out tomorrow if he can find that elusive cover lol.
Ok Kirty, morning to you too. So yeah Ocean Transit is back down to his last winning mark of 74, and run a great race off 80 at Chepstow before too. Definitely wouldn't be surprised if it won. 12/1 with betfffrreedd atm, definitely got a chance.. maybe I'll even play it, not looked at other horses in the race though. GL will tell you if I throw anything on it! |
By:
I also like Camerooney in the 7.40pm at Mussleburgh (Same as mepoor) and Killing Moon in the 9.10pm (Hoping the jockey can keep the horse in a straight line this week) I know Redal also fancies this horse today..
Going to play Manadalay King / Ocean Transit and the above 2 in a Lucky 15 and hope to get at least 2 winners today.. Will also play the selections shown in earlier posts.. Good luck today to one and all. |
By:
Killing Moon is the horse that let you down in the scoop6 yeah?
![]() |
By:
Well it let me down in leg 4 was on a roll but would have gone out in leg 5 anyway. :)
By:
great reading above.
different tack today, yankee felsham 4.40 chep ghufa 6.30 hay midnight spirit 7.50 tow destiny,s dream 4.20 catt as my last two runners ran stinkers,if todays don,t show a profit i won,t put a horse up for a while, to be honest i don,t want to spoil the excellent strike rate of the thread,(still be keeping an eye on you, cheering you on.) hopefully steak instead of sausages today. good luck all. |
By:
Haha tell me about it Lapsy, you start to feel guilty if you don't contribute a winner!

ryanwe,3 bets yesterday, west leake, scruffy skip, speed dating.
of course i put up the loser, and not a word of a lie i was going to put the other two up but could be arsed to do a w rite up, instead i made a NATIONAL DISCRACE of myself. ![]() ![]() anyway as you well know its swings and roundabouts, hopeful today. good luck fella, thanks for understanding. |
By:
Kirty, have played that Ocean Transit at 12/1. Ticks mosts the boxes in a moderate HC.. although in my opinion, the trainer form is a negative. However, The horse's odds still undermine his winning chance. All the best!

By:
Well LP that's what you get for not writing it up! Can't even expect most of your selections to win unless they are odds on shots, just hope the decent priced selections do the buisness. GL with your selections! |
By:
Midnight Spirit is probably the only horse in that race that is actually going up in the ratings! Was quite interested in Topflight Wildbird having it's 1st run for Alan King over hurdles, on same mark of 100 when running for L Wadham, and was competitive off it too. 9/1 decent price in a really moderate race. Although 9/1 just gone with with B365, and Boilsports only let me have 30p or something funny
