Surprised Cambridge is weak during the early exchages for the Musidora, though that might because of the ground.
There are reasons to believe it won't be a problem, interesting to see what price she goes out to. |

Blue Wind Stakes at Naas this evening, 7.15. Dazzling and Tarfasha look candidates for Epsom. Tarfash finished 3rd behind My Titania last season over 7f when she is related to proper stayers like Galileo Rock and the John Oxx horse which finished 2nd in the Ascot Gold Cup. She's crying out for this trip.

On form shown it looks a weak race, although there is obviously scope for a lightly raced filly to show big improvement. I don't think her debut win was anything special but as the race looks weak I still have her among the higher rated fillies today. Maybe she'll come on a lot for the debut but her Oaks price looks terrible to me. As for todays race it looks far too difficult for me.

Her Oaks price is due to connections comments. Bookmakers just run and hide when that happens. Comments posted on here a couple of weeks back.
Shamkala wins a Group 3 in France just now. Not seen the race yet. |

I am not convinced that Cambridge will get the oaks trip (although I have backed her in double with Miss France and on a multiple 25-1 and 16/1).This trip and ground should be no problem though, both Sire and Dam won on soft ground.

disappointing there Cambridge and she's been beaten by Regardez this time so probably hasn't run to form but doesn't look an oaks filly now. Quite like that winner though.

My top rated filly, Lily Rules, finished second, she set a moderate level, though, disappointing race as far as the Oaks goes.

No surprise to see Taghroodha shorten again after that, Madam Chiang looks a stayer and can't really seeing her winning the oaks unless it came up soft.

agree with what sint said earlier and I too like the weld filly at Naas, bred to stay well and whilst a bit disappointing behind My Titania surely over middle distance she could step up on that form.

Ground not getting any softer, definitely slower on the straight, though, and that's also how it looked visually to me.

It's always a worry whether or not Dermot Weld will send his horses over though Stevie so bare that in mind.

Yes fair point. He probably won't take the same approach as Ballydoyle, i.e run them all if they have a chance.
Best to wait and see what Weld says. Top price is 16/1 which would look decent IF she is confirmed a runner. |

She was beat 6 lengths by My Titania but in fairness we don't know how good the Oxx horse is yet, so 7f on Good ground when she is totally bred for 12f and more was probably a very good effort.

Weld is saying he will encourage the owner to go to Epsom so i've taken 16/1. Worth the risk!

I had a bit on here sint, 3 quid at 36 and 68 quid at 34. that's all that was on here at the time.

Nice one. I would be surprised if the owner says no to Dermot's and Pat's wishes tbh. And if you through the race it is not unreasonable to think he could have the first two home. Looks quite a weak renewal as AOB has nothing that stands out so unless the Newbury trial on Friday produces anything I reckon she could go off 6/1 on the day.

Oh and there is Goodwood to come aswell, so two more trials.

She did it nicely enough sint though the 2nd is a 100 filly and the 4th a 93 and I would expect an oaks filly getting a generous 14lb wfa to beat those comfortably and tbf she has done that so with it looking quite a weak oaks atm then she has a good chance and her half brother Galileo Rock did step up again when he went for the derby and I think she could do the same if she goes to the oaks. Taghroodha and Ihtimal look the obvious dangers at present but nothing has put a big figure yet.
The Newbury race doesn't look that strong either, though I do think the Gosden filly Likelihood could be a big improver this year and yes the Goodwood race of course was won by Snow Fairy previously so that could throw up something. |

Yep. Probably sounds like i'm getting carried away. But she is certain to improve again for the extra 2f. No doubt about that. Galileo Rock was a Derby punt for me last year for the same reason, posted on the thread at the time.

Another disappointing oaks trial there, that Sound Reflection doesn't look up to much this season, I liked her early on as a 2yo.

Still that race might be better than it looks as that hcap Volume ran in is always a hot one and looks to be working out well this year. be interesting to see how this time compares to the other races on the round course today.

think the ground must be on the fast side at Newbury as was not a bad time when you consider the rails are out and distances are supposedly 22m longer.

Sound Reflection was beaten 7.5 lengths today, the same distance behind Taghrooda at HQ. Luca Cumani will have an idea how good Taghrooda is as he had the runner up that day Jordans Princess and trains the winner at Newbury, Volume. Anyway, the form looks weak imo.
Tarfasha top priced 9/1 now, as low as 6/1 in other places. |

Sara Cumani, representing husband Luca, said of the winner: "The idea was to possibly make the running if nobody else wanted to and just ride her forgetting about what else was in the field. Richard Hughes said she jumped out nicely, found herself in front and he was happy to make the running on her.
"He asked her to go a nice easy pace as she has a high cruising speed and she's very genuine and she did it well. We're thrilled and it's very good for the owner. (There are) no plans as where we'll go next although Richard Hughes did say he thought she wouldn't handle Epsom." |

I've got quite a decent figure for that volume today, think she's actually quite a decent prospect and I like the way she found plenty for pressure. Still with hughes saying she might not handle epsom then perhaps the Irish oaks or the ribblesdale. I shall keep my eye on the first 3 in that race today. might work out well
