Stoute said to the RP that Sea Moon could go to Ascot for the Cumberland Lodge or Longchamp as a prep for his 'main' aim the BC Turf
|
|
By:
SEB - probably more lies mate...why should Sea Moon be running in group three company (with a penalty) and have a 'target' (Breeders' Cup) where there's likely to be fast ground?
![]() Besides...he's a group one winner in waiting that fully deserves his place in ANY international group one - he's definitely in with a squeak in the Arc, and running against (potentially) progressive horses (improving 3yo's) with a penalty really doesn't make sense, when the 'Holy Grail' and the immortality of the Arc is far from a pipedream! I find it hard to believe that he's not being aimed at the Arc...and as I said earlier, I can't see good ground being a problem at all! In this day & age there's no excuse for all this faeces we regularly hear from connections! Furthermore...what has Abdullah got representing him in the Arc? Last Train's chances of lining up look expired and it's a grave failure when an operation the size of Juddmonte can't even find a runner in the world's greatest race! |

Don't trust what I said about entries/field. It could well be wrong. Headmaster always seems to have a good
understanding of these things. I think he must have been a French teacher before his promotion! ![]() |
|
By:
You have earned many kudos by that statement but I don't believe he was even
a teacher, never mind a headmaster, he knows I am not a KOW TOWING IDIOT. |
|
By:
He clearly wasnt a very good teacher or headmaster then was he !

Navel, don't know if you buy the Racing Post, but they are doing an few write ups this week on the ARC, which MAY go some way towards extending your knowledge of the competitors.

I very much doubt Camelot will run. The fact is he is nowhere nearv as good as they would have you believe. If he did run he would get stuffed, and they can't have that. He will either be retired with superlatives and excuses, or he will run at 4 if they suspect next seasons 3 y/o are as sub par as this seasons lot.

As for Stoute why he is not in jail is beyond me.Fact

That is the sort of ludicrous comment that deserves to be rubbished. First off, why do you use "fact?" Is it to give emphasis or to suggest that what you say is indisputable? Anyhow, it is not "fact" but "opinion" which any reasonably educated child would know the difference between. And what an opinion to express! I'm surprised that BF allow it to stand. You slag off someone with a comment that is libelous and expect to do so with impunity. You deserve a ban for such a thing.Your forum name is very apt. |

I hope the lack of coverage of the Arc on 'free' TV will not be permanent.
The 2012 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will not be shown on free-to-air television after the BBC and Channel 4 decided against picking up the rights to the event. Dedicated racing channels At The Races and Racing UK will pick up coverage of Europe’s most prestigious flat race live from Longchamp, but none of the meeting will be broadcast on a free-to-air network for the first time in many years. There will be a video of each race across the two days posted on the site below (but no live coverage):

Bazzar - "Navel, don't know if you buy the Racing Post, but they are doing an few write ups this week on the ARC, which MAY go some way towards extending your knowledge of the competitors"
That really isn't good enough in this day & age...there should be regular updates EVERY day! I find it inexcusable, as do many on here, but in defence of the Racing Post, the trainers themselves are far from forthcoming about their plans ![]() |

Successive governments and the Racing Post are in league to take as much from us in the form of tax, Labour allowed each betting shop to become casino's, even newspapers can run bingo from their premises, so why should they inform us so that we MAY take the profits from the bookies?
Keep soldiering on , NAVEL , but with purpose and determination, cut out the extraneous and concentrate on the vital. |

On the Nicolas Clement website today was confirmation of Yellow and Green's participation in this years Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
News from nicolasclement.com We're a little behind in keeping you up-to-date, so please find below a round-up of the Clement activities since our last log: Much closer at hand however are Yellow and Green's (Monsun) exploits. The attractive and hugely talented filly has changed ownership since her victory in the Gr2 Prix de Malleret and now also runs in the colours of Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al Thani. In her first start for her new team, she flew home and eyecatching fourth in the Gr1 Prix Vermeille - leaving much the best impression in the field. On the back of that run; with careful consideration between trainer and owner, and seeing how well the filly has taken the race in her stride, we decided that Yellow and Green will be allowed to take her chances in Europes most prestigious race - the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe! The build-up to the race has been going well and we're looking forward to the first Sunday in October.... Keep your fingers crossed! Also news on French Fifteen We're happy to report that after an injury-enforced-break French Fifteen (Turtle Bowl) is back to being ridden and going well. He will stay in training as a 4yo next season and his targets may include Gr1 Championship races such as the Lockinge Stakes, Prix Isphahan, Jaques le Marois - and we're sure he is bound to provide his connections with much joy in the future. |

I know many of you shrewdies are on Orfevre at 16, 14 etc but I only got on board at 5.9 couple of weeks ago hoping it would shorten up to at least 9/2 on here, for a trade. Was getting a bit nervous last few days as it looked like it was being challenged for favouritism. Relieved to see some where backing Orfevre last night, so finally got lay matched at 5.5 and now have some nice green on the Japanese tank.
Feeling quietly confident now. Nathaniel is the one danger I'm most worried about. |
|
By:
I do not know why there is still a minimum of interest in German Derby winner Pastorius. You can still lay this horse. That is free money. He will not run in the arc. He is more of a 10furlong horse and they planned on running in the Champion Stakes but instead opted for a run this Wednesday in Berlin.

Teddy Grimthorpe has confirmed Sea Moon as a likely runner in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old was last seen finishing fifth when sent off favourite for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July, but was only beaten a little over two lengths. He looks set to renew rivalries with Danedream and Nathaniel in France this weekend and Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah, expects Ryan Moore to be in the saddle. Moore has been sidelined by injury since late August and his comeback date has yet to be confirmed, but Thursday will be the earliest he can return after his name did not feature among Wednesday's declarations. The news of Sea Moon's probable participation may have wider implications, as Moore has been linked with the ride aboard Derby hero Camelot, who will require a new jockey if he does line up due to Joseph O'Brien being unable to make the weight of 8st 11lb. Grimthorpe said: "When we've made a final decision we'll let everyone know. It's on the agenda and at the moment we're heading that way. "As long as things keep going as they are, hopefully we'll be there." Asked when Moore would return to competitive action, Grimthorpe said: "I'm waiting to hear more news, but hopefully he'll be on board (Sea Moon)." |
