By:
sinfin, ive brought this up over the years on threads, its very regular in cricket especially on inngs runs , the lowlife putting in a back at as you say 34, when its 3.4 in reality, hoping someone lays in error , i wonder if you did this in error when its obvious , if betfair would void it etc
|
|
By:
betfair do not void bets unless it suits them to do i once put £2 on a 500/1 but put it the wrong way round and ended up aving £500 on a horse avergae matched i think about 28 i phoned them straight away and they said my fault nothing can b done it was antipost the horse never made the race

O'Brien's Abbey memories create 2,000 Guineas fears for Camelot
By Marcus Townend Aidan O'Brien says the disastrous 2,000 Guineas experience of St Nicholas Abbey in 2010 is behind his reluctance to publicly commit hot favourite Camelot to Saturday's race. The Evens favourite is on course for the Newmarket Classic but his trainer has been determined not to rush the unbeaten colt's preparation. Like Camelot, St Nicholas Abbey is a son of Montjeu who entered his Guineas as an unbeaten Racing Post Trophy winner. He also started Evens favourite but could only manage sixth behind Makfi and never ran again that year. O'Brien said: 'St Nicholas Abbey is only coming back now. He is only starting to quicken like a really top horse again. 'You saw that in Dubai (when second to Cirrus Des Aigles in the Sheema Classic) and America (when winning the 2011 Breeders' Cup Turf). 'It took so long for the brilliance to come back. He lost it in the spring of his three-year-old career and, maybe, I forced him a bit. That is why I am only saying now I've one eye on the Guineas for Camelot. I have not forced him. Abbey failure: O'Brien 'Everything is going smoothly and we are very happy. His work is more or less done. But if there was any question mark over him, he will not be there. 'I don't want to make the same mistake as I did with St Nicholas Abbey.' A plus for O'Brien is that Newmarket clerk of the course Michael Prosser expects a drying week and the Rowley Mile to turn from soft to good. That will deter a supplementary 1,000 Guineas entry for impressive Fred Darling Stakes winner Moonstone Magic and trainer Ralph Beckett now eyes the French Guineas on May 13. Had a good look last night at the race, and if I told you there was a horse running that had won the Gimcrack, Mill Reef and Greenham and was staying on beaten just over a length in the Middle Park over C&d and was still available to back at 32 on here at the time of writing.
If the animal in question was trained by Sir Michael or AOB folk would be all over it. Sure it might not win, but the way it stayed on in the Middle Park suggests a decent enough run. Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere on this thread. |

Since Montjeu died I've been waiting for Ballydoyle to pull Camelot fom the Guineas and send him to a simple Derby trial. The fact that he's still in the race tells me they think he'll win.
It's looking like the race will be below par and on more testing ground than usual and whilst SNA is still fresh in people's minds, he's a different horse in a different race. He may not win the race but I suspect he'll be there or thereabouts at the end of it |

O’Brien pair head Guineas contenders
By Nick Robson Tuesday, May 01, 2012 Aidan O’Brien’s ante-post favourites Camelot and Maybe head the entries for the Qipco 2000 and 1000 Guineas respectively. Camelot features among the 22 confirmations for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday while Maybe is among 21 fillies left in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket 24 hours later. Camelot, the son of Montjeu, was a brilliant winner of last year’s Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on just his second career start and he has headed the market for both the Guineas and the Investec Derby during the winter. The Ballydoyle team have two other possible runners in Power and Furner’s Green. Another fascinating contender for Ireland is the John Oxx-trained Born To Sea, a half-brother to the great Sea The Stars who won this in 2009 before going to win the Derby and the Arc. Jim Bolger’s Parish Hall has arguably the strongest form in the race having won the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket last October, beating the likes of Power, Most Improved, Bronterre and Trumpet Major. Richard Hannon has both Bronterre and Trumpet Major engaged in Saturday’s Classic. Bronterre was beaten at odds-on in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury on his comeback, but Trumpet Major impressed in his trial, the Craven Stakes. The champion trainer also has Coupe De Ville and Redact in the mix. Roger Charlton is set to saddle his much talked about Newbury maiden winner Top Offer, while Abtaal, French Fifteen and Hermival are all contenders for France. Other interesting possibles include Caspar Netscher, Boomerang Bob and Fencing. The sole supplementary entry is the Jeremy Noseda-trained Talwar, an easy winner of a Lingfield Listed race last time. Maybe, the daughter of Galileo, heads the 1000 Guineas market thanks to going through her juvenile campaign unbeaten. She won five times, culminating in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh at the end of August. Trainer Aidan O’Brien has three other possibles in Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial winner Homecoming Queen, Up and Wonderful. Lightening Pearl, winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes, could try to give Co Meath handler Ger Lyons Classic glory while the other Irish-trained entries are Jim Bolger’s Alla Speranza, David Wachmans’s Fire Lily and Kevin Prendergast’s La Collina. Mashoora, winner of the Prix Imprudence at Maisons-Laffitte and trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, is the sole remaining French filly. Godolphin have a strong hand in the shape of Discourse and Lyric Of Light, who both have 100% records for trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni. Discourse won the Sweet Solera Stakes on the second of her two starts while Lyric Of Light’s three successes included the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and the Shadwell Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket. Also among the home contingent are Diala, Gray Pearl, Laugh Out Loud, Lily’s Angel, Nayarra, Radio Gaga, Starscope, Sunday Times and The Fugue. The list is completed by Moonstone Magic, who has been supplemented by trainer Ralph Beckett. Meanwhile, Henry Cecil plans to take Frankel for a racecourse gallop at Newmarket on Sunday as he builds towards his seasonal return. The world’s highest-rated Flat horse suffered a leg injury earlier this month and for a brief period there were real concerns about the four-year-old’s future racing career. A subsequent scan revealed the unbeaten nine-time winner had suffered no serious damage though, and he is now back in full work ahead of his likely return in the JLT Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 19. The clash everyone wants to see this summer is Frankel versus the world’s second highest-rated racehorse, Australian wonder-mare Black Caviar. Peter Moody’s six-year-old stretched her unbeaten record to 20 last weekend and is on course to run in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. However, the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood seemingly the only conceivable contest in which the pair could meet. It is a battle Cecil would relish. "She’s a brilliant filly, obviously, and so consistent," said the trainer. "I’d love to meet her. I would look forward to it." French ace Dunaden is one of the star names among 12 remaining entries for the Qatar Bloodstock Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. The Mikel Delzangles-trained six-year-old enjoyed a spectacular end to last season, winning the Geelong Cup and the Melbourne Cup in Australia before dashing to Sha Tin to collect the Hong Kong Vase. Possibly joining him on the trip across the Channel this weekend is Andre Fabre’s Grand Prix de Paris winner Meandre, last seen finishing sixth in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Another horse who has been off since that Longchamp contest, Masked Marvel, is another major contender for Saturday’s mile and a half Group Two. Fiorente showed some decent form last year and is an interesting player making his four-year-old debut for Michael Stoute. Al Kazeem, Blue Bajan, Eternal Heart, Highland Castle, Modun, Quest For Peace, Ed Dunlop’s Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux and Sadeek’s Song complete the field. Kevin Prendergast feels La Collina may be the forgotten horse in Sunday's Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
A daughter of Strategic Prince, she had some top-class form as a juvenile in Ireland last season, including beating Aidan O'Brien's 2000 Guineas hopeful Power in the Group One Phoenix Stakes. Not many fillies beat the colts at the stage of their careers and Prendergast hoped she would follow up back against her own sex in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, but she could only manage a well-beaten third behind 1000 Guineas favourite Maybe. Given there had been little between them when the pair met in the Silver Flash Stakes in July it is easy to forgive La Collina, especially as Prendergast feels she has a valid excuse for her last run. "She's a runner this weekend and I think she'll run well, I suppose she has gone under the radar a bit," said the County Kildare veteran. "I wouldn't want it soft though, she's much better on good ground. "I've seen the forecast and they should have had most of the rain they are getting so I'd hope it will be good ground by the weekend, that's what they are saying as it drains so well." |

Newmarket clerk of the course Michael Prosser said: “The going-stick reading at 3pm today was 6.1 from 6.8 yesterday and the ground is now ‘Soft.’ The course has taken the rain well. It is in good order and I am happy with it."

Think much will depend on how much of the forecast rain they get on Thursday as to how soft the ground will be

Anybody heard anything about Fencing, out to 75 on here

Where are the stalls going to be - on soft I'd want to be drawn low if they are on the stands side or in the middle.
More persistent rain due on Thursday so can't see Saturdays going be anything but soft. |

Anyone know if Mandaean gonna show as was huge price on here yesterday, now price collapsed soft ground will suit and will certainly stay?

On my knees for them to run this horse. Surely it just depends on whether they think he's fit enough?
There aren't many in this field with the potential to be outstanding but he is one of them. |

Amazing how the COC was so bullish about it being just worse the Good ground. He must have been living underground and only comes up to check the going.

Kieren Fallon believes Trumpet Major could be the horse to give Camelot most to do in Saturday's QIPCO 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Richard Hannon's charge is a top-price 11-1 for the colts' Classic after a runaway win in the Craven Stakes over Saturday's course and distance last month. That was on rain-softened ground, and, with conditions turning in his favour, Fallon is expecting a big run. The former champion jockey wrote in his Racing Post Weekender column: "Of those with form I am a big fan of Trumpet Major who showed that soft ground is no barrier to his chances when taking the Craven Stakes emphatically last month. "Richard Hannon is a terrific trainer with a good record in this Classic and, of his four entries, this colt has the best chance and is by no means out of it. "He is tough and genuine and when many of his rivals will be crying enough he will be finding more." |

Bolger keen on Parish but not soft ground
Jim Bolger, speaking about 2,000 Guineas hope Parish Hall in Wednesday's Post, said: "We like him a lot and think he'll give a very good account of himself. But if it comes up soft he won't run." (3 hours ago) |
