I'd say straight there, imagine the Derby is just as high on their agenda, if not higher.
By:
Wont stay !
By:
With his pedigree id say he will need all of the Derby trip.
By:
You would ! But how is he going to beat SNA ?
By:
he wont.

Kings Best a stallion that gets backend 2 y'old by Kingmambo from the stout Urban Sea family the dam a full sister to a St.Leger winner where is the speed for the guineas coming from?
By:
Same place it came from in Creachadoirs pedigree.
By:
yes I can see what you are saying but the family is faster than WF C'dam is out of a mare by Ajdal a souce of speed.
By:
I'll leave it to the Ben and Push thread.Where you can agree with each other to your hearts content!
By:
:D
I think he'll be given every chance to get the Derby trip. Like I said not looked at his pedigree closely but encouragement there and the way he ran last time shows he has stamina possibly. |

Steinbeck still not being offered above bookies prices, despite all the negative postings on this site
By:
I think, to be fair, that most of the 'negative' postings have been aimed not so much at the horse himself as at the over-hyping of the horse by people who have backed him for the Guineas and are determined to talk him up way beyond what is justified by what the horse has actually achieved. He's clearly a smart horse and I wouldn't personally be looking to lay him for the Guineas at this stage, even though I think SNA is the likelier winner. I have, however, laid Canford Cliffs to quite sizeable sums.

jamesp, Yes as has been said before Opinion and being prepared to back with hard cash is what these Ante Post markets are about, and is a big part of the joy of our game.
I tend to back what I consider a good price and lay off when the price shortens. Have suffered with this strategy. Backed Finsceal Beo all winter around 9/2. Then layed back at around 13/8. a win would make me 10,000, a lose making me around 8,000. But looking after IF I had held on I could have made nearly 40,000. But a profit was the aim NOT a big risk, so happy with 10,000. |
By:
Tirol , what is your main selection ( bet ) for the 2000 G, at this stage ?
By:
Steinbeck.
Footsteps on the turf at Newmarket...............................and he wins the Guineas. :D |
By:
push, not got seriously involved this year. but have had a small interest in Arcano at 17/1. but must wait to see if SNA runs. I had a small double 1,000gns & Derby. with SNA at 20/1. which I hope to lay if I get the 1,000gns winner.
By:
oh, and a small bet on Awzaan.
By:
Tirol , i think i have the same 1000G / Derby double, goodluck !
See you have gone for speed horses in the Guineas. |
By:
bits of money for Fencing Master on the exchange today? any thoughts , 26 too big?
By:
Its not Ballydoyle money , still if he turns up the price is value, not much between him and Steinbeck on form and sure to get 1 mile easily.
By:
I see Kingsfort is down to 24-1 on BFair, do you think God will run him in the Guineas ?
By:
Stupid Thread....Steinbeck NO CHANCE on 1st May
By:
I like Steinbeck, the fact he didn't show too much as a 2 y/o makes him a better proposition. It's good if they show potential, fill out during the winter then come back.
By:
agree graeme, can't say I want the beast to win. But at least you and kirk are remaining true.
By:
I don't know about remaining true, i just joined the thread on my previous post. I covered my Steinbeck bet with SNA, who i think will go there with Murtagh on board.
SNA would appear to have the better chance. One thing of concern for Stenibecks backers would be that Footstepsinthesand 's stud fee has halved, yet Montjeus has increased 4 fold. There's very little to go on at the moment. That mob speak alot without telling us anything, plus anything can happen from 2-3...whos to say Footstepsinthesands stud fee would take a big hyke in the next few years ? I'm in the dark. I have small bets on SNA for the 2000 & derby, aswell as Steinbeck as my main bet for the guineas. |
By:
yes graeme, These Ante Post races are all about getting there on the day. And whatever performances they have achieved at 2, they must have trained on, get a decent draw, get their ground, and get the gaps during the race. 20/1 to get a run???
By:
Am also covered on SNA and Murtagh will be up if he runs

All the 12s for Steinbeck have gone now.
By:
and the 11s
By:
The bookies are squeezing the ante posts. From 12s to 10s means somebody must have put ten quid on him e/w.
By:
As you say Graeme, No significant moves yet. Time to look closely is during & just after Cheltenham....
By:
Will Kingsfort be Gods main 2000G runner ? As low as 10-1, most firms 14, 16-1. Looks like there has been some money for him recently. May be because their horses are running well in Dubai ?
By:
Kingsfort imo will be their main 2000 Guineas hope they dont have a lot other than him for a mile to be fair.
By:
They have certainly bought enough, what about Chabel ? will he make a comeback ?
By:
Maybe so, he drifted for the Dewhurst someone knew he wasnt going to run well in that.
By:
Agreed, very strange betting on him.
By:
wow... steinbeck being offered at 12/1 on betfair....BUT only for 2 pounds
By:
Something wrong with the horse??? IT'S ON THE DRIFT !!!
By:
cheers for the word Tirol, i'm gonnae lay it for £1000 at 20/1..brb.

A RUN OF MONEY AT 12/1.....ha ha ha.....mug money
