Denman didnt look on his A game yesterday. The 20s for IC EW is looking rather big now imo. Still 14s a 1/4 which really is way out of line. Time to roll up your sleeves gentlemen and get stuck in :D

How come I've never picked up on this thread before, absolutely top class, one of the best I've read on here for sure. Some well expressed, thoughtful and well argued opinions, respect for differing opinions and the most refreshing and honest owner's views. Bobby, I wish you every success, hope he goes well and returns safely

BD I am on - my only bet in the GC so far, and I can't say I'm inspired by any of the others. FWIW I think Kauto will get beat this year ... just a feeling. I think IC is the one ...

Brooksielad, thanks I saw that one. Top class, worth reading through all the dross on here sometimes to unearth good reading like those two.

He is in absolutely blinding form at home, sparkling piece of work with Khyber Kim on Tuesday.

Will school Thursday, last piece of serious work on Friday, and then cantering to stay loose until the big day. Looks and feels better than ever, whatever happens he should run a massive race.

If he gets the trip then he will take a lot of beating, having said that Kauto's performance at Kempton was awesome so he has a fair bit to find - but it is the GC and a joy to have a runner ler alone one of this calibre. Can't wait.

good luck Bobby

IC is my biggest bet at the moment (each way) , im not sure the likely good/ish ground will suit cooldine or denman as much.

might go in again if KK runs a race in the champion

Teddy, I was thinking just the same!

Maybe a small double is in order.......

The Champion Hurdle is wide open so if KK is progressing that EW double might be looking a good bet

Bobby by any chance have you any information about IC stable mate Little Josh... have recollection of NTD speaking highly of this horse early in the season, has had a few mishaps jumping but does have an engine, see he's still entered in RSA, if you know nothing no prob....
Enjoy your big day next friday, might see u in the Hollow Bottom to help u celebrate!
By:

Certainly be in the Hollow Bottom - most of the week !
I would think Little Josh will take his chances but needs to find 20lbs to get anywhere close and won''t.

thanks for the reply, was surprised he hadn't been entered in one of the handicaps... the plate or Kim Muir, agree he shouldn't be good enough, could, with a clear round of jumping run into a place... had a speculative bet at fancy odds nothing more...
Always enjoy the carvery's after racing in the Hollow Bottom... still dithering as whether to travel over this year, financial constraints might mean I might have to pass, but there will be a crowd from Clare and Galway over supporting Paddy...

Well all the best Bobby for the big day. Thanks for your informative posts, honest opinions etc - just like last year. Let's hope so. I was one of those who thought he wouldn't stay 3 miles but after watching him win the Betfair Chase ( looked that way to me anyway ) I'm convinced he's up to 3m 2f at Chelters now. Kauto is sublime at Kempton but this isn't Kempton and if Commander throws it down to him so he doesn't boss the finish I honestly think Kauto comes second. Anyway it's going to be fun so enjoy and trust the horse comes back safe and sound.

In my opinion Imperial Commander will stay, having Le Moss close up on his dams side, Le Moss was a very good stayer and won at least 2 Ascot gold cups where Ardross having been second to him went on to win 3 gold cups, maybe I've got it the wrong way round, memory not as good now, someone can confirm or correct.
Good luck, BOBBY.

Thanks all, schooled under John Francombe yesterday so I assume it will be on the Morning Line tomorrow, or else part of the Channel 4 coverage on Friday. Worked really well with Khyber Kim today and thats that apart from a few canters to keep him loose and a bit of attention to his back from Ted McClaughlin.

Seems in fantastic form - if he gets the trip he will give them all a race.

From those who rode in the work session this morning the message was get stuck into Khyber Kim

I love IC to bits after last year, but I fear the GC is too much. I think he may well be found wanting on the run in and maybe 4th is the best to hope for. Good luck though BD, and I hope your horse comes back safe and sound. :)
