Korals have just pushed their prices out (McDowell 28s, Kuch 28s etc) but website appears to be screwed! Whole market is unclickable, wallopers!
|
|
By:
What a scam. They'll claim they offered these prices now, even though nobody could get on.
|
|
By:
All the other markets are available its just the outright is not available. Just a publicity stunt to get a few new accounts.
|
|
By:
What a joke! They finally put the market up and held the McDowell price for around 3 minutes. Managed to get on for standard stake (which is not large)

Marcus Fraser was on Melbourne radio this morning. He confirmed, the course has taken an absolute hammering, and said it was very messy. The plan to combat the low yardages was no 1st cut, from fairway to deep rough and with all those sloping fairways it would have been hard to avoid. Now the course has no run, he was predicting those balls will not end up in the rough and with the soft greens, absolutely the course is there for taking. He was estimating a winner at -10 or lower. sort of feel sorry for Merion, they had to lobby hard to get the event back, and if the course is smashed they will probably never chance it again given the lack of length. With brand new courses of length being added to the rota, some of these older, shorter tracks are well and truly obsolete.

Pepperal has great taste in shoes
This could be a farce event, shame, but there we are |
|
By:
Same conditions for everyone I reckon.
Whoever can handle them better, will prevail on Sunday evening. Sure, the fairways will be receptive now..........that's if you actually drive in on the fairways ? Bring it on, and the weather will do whatever it does, so don't worry about that. ![]() |

Well said Heinz. Should still be tricky enough, another on the same radio station was saying that the lack of run may force some to hit driver when they would have gone 3 wood. The rough from what i heard is truly frightening and only gets thicker with the water so anything not on the short stuff should at the very least be an adventure.
|
|
By:
Could be low scoring with occasional horror, getting in rough
|
|
By:
Correct Heinz, enough to think on other than the weather and lovely and sunny it is here to in old norn iron.

Does this point to a increased volatility? I certainly hope so...

Forecast 2moro looks terrible(wind, damaging hail, lightning),thunderstorms Friday as well, as much as I am looking forward to the event I can't help but feel its going to be a frustrating watch.

On the exchange i would expect the odds to fluctuate more.....ie, if one hits a ball in the rough on a short par 4 birdie chance hole....i would expect the layers to presume that the chance of birdie has gone and par or bogey is inevitable.

For you who have backed Rory.. Its not his short irons or putting that is the problem.. Its his driving... He spoke to Jack about it and said he is fighting the drive to the right.. Lets hope it aint too bad this week as he is on my team..

Our resident weather expert, Ski-Wiz, thinks that they should play on through thunderstorms..
He is currently walking the course wearing a BacoFoil suit and a tin hat, with a scaffolding pole sticking out of his rear end, to check for electrical activity. Local energy providers have plugged him in, hoping that he will provide Pennsylvania with enough voltage to see them though the week. |

In a normal US Open a par is a good score not this week, apart from a few of the par 4s and the long par 3s ,par will be an opportunity missed.I have backed all the players that finished in the top 10 at the Memorial playing this week as this could be a good form guide. For my best bet this week i was looking for a player that drives it straight and excels with the wedge and putter.Since this isn't going to be a "normal" US Open expect a strange result and big outsider wins. David Hearn 600+could be the man !!!

anyone fancy Matteo ??? wots his chances ???
|
|
By:
I think his chances are very good. Obviously in terrific form, and this track could well suit him.
Having said that, I am not on. Bit skinny for me, and I'm running out of money.... |

Lets hope it stays like it...the weather that is....
07:49 a.m. EDT | Welcome to Wednesday at the 2013 U.S. Open. It's a beautiful day for the players' final tune-up for this year's championship. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Billy Horschel have already drawn a big gallery for their 7:30 a.m. tee time. |

Merion praying a top 5 player wins
Iconic course |

By:
much better news weather
looks misty thurs,no rain fri, sat, sun sunshine ground, greens soft, could be lowest scoring in US OPEN history |
|
By:
It's still a par 70 course with three very long par 3s and a penalized rough...I doubt we'll see total scores below 270...surprised by the drift on Rory to 25 with wet condition and that G-mac has shortening with a soft course...

No Italian won a major ? History maker.... Im on! nice1
|
|
By:
Well no Aussie won The Masters until A Scott.........first time for everything. I predict that Matteo will be the first Italian to win a Major (assuming none has) and more chance than Westy, Donald, Poulter, etc.

i love it when around par is a winning score, it just always seems like your guy as a chance, i know thats mental thinking but thats me
|
|
By:
especially in running, some see +3 an offer great odds
|
|
By:
Can't see it being that type of us open. To many short holes for par to have a chance. Given the soft conditions and the lack of length i think it's going to be a free scoring us open. Brings alot of player into it. Could get a shock winner.

Had to take some David Toms @ 385..
My team's beginning to look like the U.S. Olympic team when they enter the stadium... Takes ten minutes to see them all.. |
