I think we all just want some form of response from Betfair, their denial that "there's nothing wrong" is proving unfounded.
Even if the reply is along the lines of sorry boys the old site is a shambles, it's not going to get any better and it's up to you lot to continue to use with the full knowledge you're going to get stuffed every now and again. At least then we know where we stand. |

someone said on here the other day that that other unnameable exchange has seen a big increase in liquidity. I wonder why that could be.

im just puzzled at the lack of an in your face advertising by the purple place you would think they would grasp the opportunity with both both hands
|
|
By:
when I last spoke to them, which was when Betfair kept crashing, they said they were sorry for the delay in answering as they had been inundated with calls from new customers, so evidently they are quite happy to sit there and mop up the deserters.

I was thinking the same as Sweetchild, Bet4q will never have a better opportunity. I opening an account with them last month, never been tempted previously.

imagine the impact this ad would have
''our markets load immediately'' ''we care about our customers'' ''unlike our main rival, we wont take up to 60% of your winnings off you'' |

Just had an interesting conversation with the Helpdesk.
There's a small problem (the confirm button disappears after a bet has been placed) with a certain market on the old site (for all matches) and I raised it with them. The response from their IT team is that since it only affects the old site, they won't be fixing it. They're concentrating all their efforts on fixing problems with the new site. Nothing new I guess, but whilst I'm not surprised they won't fix a slowness issue, I am surprised they won't fix an issue such as this. The disappearance of the confirm button means I can't amend bets or cancel individual bets. |

I meant the 'Submit' button, not 'Confirm'.

This has been the best Saturday in quite some time.

Yes, they have either fixed it for the weekend, or at least today. Or fixed it permanently, less likely I think.

i can understand why they want to fix the old site -if it's what we're going to have to put up with, i'd sooner have it in good working order .
bear in mind that BF don't operate for our benefit ,we would be very arrogant to assume this wouldn't we ? |

the new site * sorry

I don't use the website for betting, I use it just for looking at lists of markets, but thought I'd attempt to load a market to see if you guys are exaggerating. You're not!
It does seem like it's a deliberate ploy. I Have a true 20MB download speed and it takes 25 seconds for a market to load! Switch to the new site and it's instant. |

and that last post just says it all..according to BCM2 betfair are monitoring this thread, well there you go, trevh has it all in a nutshell

Goodness, the old site's a steaming pile of dog's mess tonight.
|
|
By:
for me too.
|
|
By:
Yes, slow as a snail in quicksand again.
|
|
By:
I managed to login to Betfair Lite, find the market, put the bet on and logout again in the time that the old site had taken to get the market on screen. Pathetic. If they can fix it for the weekend, why revert it to its slow form again for the week? Must be on purpose, and if that is true, then it shows what they think of the customers.

LOADING ...
Please wait while the market loads. |

![]() very slow again tonight, I've taken the plunge and started using the new supa dupa site - I guess i'll be losing a shedload of cash tonight on NFL |
|
By:
I managed about 90 minutes, what an awful site the new interface is. Just been trying to place some bets on the 'moneyline' and I get the message this bets may have already lapsed - WTF???
Such a shame, somebody somewhere is responsible for spoiling Betfair. |
|
By:
The old site's been horrific this weekend, which is a greater shame than usual considering it had improved over the last week or so.
The new site's a non-starter (for now). I'll try and use Gruss next week (with my second account) to see if it's a viable alternative. They also seem to be getting rid of a few markets. I know they'd got rid of the spread-betting type markets and now they no longer have a 'Substitutes Used' market in football. |
|
By:
Just like many others here have reported, it's been terrible again this weekend after being a little better recently.
|
|
By:
old site is lightning fast today. we should not only critizise the bad times, but appreciate the good times as well.

Is it any coincidence that since people reported bets being duplicated on the beta site the classic site has stopped with the loading please wait issue suddenly just like that after 9 months? I've used both sites extensively and I have to say the beta site is bollox and has been since it first went live all those many months ago.

It's certainly interesting that all of a sudden the old site has been virtually perfect the last few days/weeks.
However, I've just logged in to find the old site now has blank vertical margins either side of it. Must be a result of whatever 'maintenance' they did this morning. Anyone else seeing them? Any fix? |
|
By:
TP- there's a thread on the football forum about this, many having the same problem it seems..

By:
Thanks, I'll have a look.

Credit where it's due (and hope I dont regret this) the classic site has worked perfectly for the past few days for me.

The old site has been stable + fast for me too. It is surely no coincidence that this upgrade in performance has coincided with the reporting of more serious problems with the new site. I also think that Betfair have taken a closer look at their own site usage stats and have found that while many existing users have sampled the new site, the vast majority have reverted to the old.
There are still many things to be resolved before they kill the old site, unless their grand plan is to lose a swathe of their (so far) loyal customer base. |
|
By:
Yep, for the first time since I started this thread 8 months ago, the old site is working perfectly. Something which wasn't going to be fixed is somehow working properly. I think it's fair to assume they fixed the old site as the new site isn't fit for purpose. I think it's also likely that they weren't making as much money as the could because of the old site's loading issues preventing/dissuading us from putting money down.
Hopefully, whatever the reason(s), Betfair will extend the time they keep the old site (which really is nigh on perfect for me)or, even better, keep the old site up and running for good. The 'fact' their servers can't cope with both sites now appears to have been a bluff. |
|
By:
as long as they do not reinstate soccer coupons for the top European leagues I'm forced to use the new site for that part of my betting, but still will use the old site for the rest as long as possible
