I've tried all browsers and told him that but that was all he could suggest.

Sod's law but it's frozen again for 20 seconds or so.

I'm not sure what I/we can do to convince them there's a problem at their end.

One thing which is either coincidental or could be a cause is it only seems to happen when I have 'My Account' open in another tab.  I'm not going to have 'My Account' open until it freezes and see if there is indeed a link.

I can't believe they don't even know about the problem and 'haven't heard about it from other customers'. That's really poor.

I'm just resigned to the fact that the website is mediocre, and I hope that Betfair will come to their senses, and take the technical improvements of Beta, and not implement the ridiculous crap that is detrimental to the experience of people who use the site more than 20 hours a week.

Might be worth paying a bit more attention to the people who use the site intensively. The things that are a big problem for us, are a small problem for all the leisure punters. In aggregate it must cost Betfair loads.

If I had to choose between viewing a Correct Score Market with amazing clear, crisp design that uses too much space and causes me to have to scroll because the market doesn't fit on my screen, or a basic design that shows the full market and doesn't waste space, I'd choose the latter every time.

Go ahead and make Betfair look better, but if it comes at the expense of functionality, it's not only a waste of time, but it's actually detrimental.

Templeton just get "The Geeks Toy" and make your bets from there, it's free and a great software (the learning curve is pretty smooth, especially if you have betting experience) you have it all there and you bypass all the betfair b..s

*or betfair rapid althought I havent used it for a while

Yeah, I've been thinking about using something like Geek's toy for quite some time but I'm a little tentative when it comes to technology.  I do this for a living, just me and the normal Betfair site (i.e. no bots, API, other sites, etc), so probably about time I took it on to the next level.

TheInvestor2, I agree completely with what you say. I just want it clean and crisp so I can have as many windows open as possible.  Like you say, you can't even see all the scores in the correct score market in Beta without scrolling down.  And, at first glance, you can't even collapse the list of markets tab.

It doesn't appear to have anything to do with having 'My Account' open.

I do this for a living too just using the normal betfair site.  All I bet on is correct scores in the football.  You have to scroll in the beta CS??  Oh no!  Hopefully they'll sort that out?

If you notice anyting you dislike about Betfair, I'd email them about it.  They may ignore but it's better than doing nothing.

Glad to hear it.  I'll do the same if I get the chance.

In a perverse way, I hope Betfair crashes badly today as there's obviously a problem at their end.  As expected, I'm still experiencing random delays in loading new markets.

THe reason Betfair never think its their problem is because their customers like myself cannot be bothered to report any issues as nothing is corrected.

In my case, I'm so used to issues with the website, that I don't bother reporting anything unless the effects are really bad, ie. I cant change my bets.

Copy, paste, and email to info@betfair.com , this is the only way it'll be fixed. It's been happening for weeks.

Hello,

For the last few weeks I've experienced on frequent occasions a long delay when moving from one market to another, with the following message appearing:

Loading.... Please wait while the marker loads

Sometimes the market loads in 10 seconds or so, but sometimes it doesn't load at all, and so I usually just close down the tab and open Betfair in a new one.  This usually works, but sometimes I need to do this a few times before Betfair is no longer frozen.

Over the last few days, this has become incredibly frequent and is making the site very difficult to use.  It appears I am not the only person having this problem as it has been mentioned by others on the Betfair Forum.

The issue arises with all browsers.  If I have all browsers open at the same time, the issue arises on each simultaneously.  My PC and internet connection are fine.  I have deleted cookies, emptied the cache, etc.  I am not having a problem with any other website.

Please could you raise this with the IT team so they could investigate and fix?  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Angry

I don't remember BBC either asking me if i no longer wanted analogue - i hate digital and all it stands for. Pixelated ,slow pictures with stupid icons popping up .

poor analogy: the gambling commission didn't tell betfair to make the switch.

Glad to hear it, Cosmic Horizon.  It's actually costing them money as we can't get bets on when the site's frozen.

IS ANYBODY FROM BETFAIR EVEN READING THIS?

how can you possibly think it's acceptable to have markets hang for over half a minute when loading and just to leave that unfixed?

They haven't responded to my email yet (apart from the automated acknowledgement).

The guy I spoke to has read this.

I tweeted @BetfairSports, they read this thread and asked me for my details so someone from the helpdesk would call me.  That happened but because they're not getting floods of calls, he said we must all have the same problem at our end...

They responded to my third email with the generic nonsense.  Didn't really respond to what I had to say.

Show's what they are like when they are unwilling to acknowledge problems. Matchbook is quite good and liquidity is picking up in smarkets, you should give them a try. Plus, they don't have a stealing cross matcher.

I've had a reply.  They said:

Any reports of any widespread technical issues with the Betfair site are reported as soon as they occur to our technical team who will look to resolve these as soon as possible.

However, technical glitches can occur from time to time on the website which may affect some customers. We offer a range of troubleshooting technics to assist customer when this occurs (you have mentioned a few of these).

We do also suggest that if this problem occurs it may be advisable to try an alternative internet browser and this often has the desired affect in eradicting viewing issues on the website.

Should this problem continue to occur after trying all of our troubleshooting tips, I would suggest to contact us and we can see if there is anything further our technical team can suggest.

I've tried another browser but was equally bad.  Formatting my partition on monday.  I'll see if that helps.

It seems better today, not a single slow to load market yet.

Has happened to me a few times.

I've also noticed my "Display P&L net of commission" has been automatically unticked.  Not the first time it's happened.

It's still fairly poor here.  As others have said, I don't bother reporting it, as I might as well bang my head against a brick wall goven the response I'd get.  Markets still hanging, having to revert to home page to try to access them again...half the time I give up and don't bother betting.

I have this problem, I am switching between football markets all day long and sporadically the next market will freeze for about 20 seconds, it never actually fails to load, but obviously annoying.
Had this problem two or three years ago and then it just fixed itself, I never changed anything, I've always used Firefox on Virgin broadband.

Oh and I'm not contacting Betfair other than hoping someone competent reads this, because I have zero faith in getting a useful response and can do without the stress.

Templeton are you switcing to a market where you alreAdy have a largeish number of bets? I got the impression a while ago if you went past a limit it'd give some sort of error trying to load that page, can't remember details, but it's a thought. There's seemed to be some sort of limit it didn't like.
