Anyone who believes that Marias odds where genuine is seriously deluded. I followed her original threads and was very suspicious at the time, the trouble was there where hundreds of folk praising her and any comments saying she was manipulating the odds where met with negative replies. Nothing wrong with the staking plan though.

Last race of the day an 8/1 shot robbed me of my 12th consecutive winning day and left me with a small negative. Not to worry though will get it back tomorrow, starting with my 300th selection. Stakes tomorrow stay the same as today (using Marias ratchet system).

Read your thread and good luck with it. Keep it going and see where it leads to. Stick with it even when there are very bad days which are inevitable. If you look at Maria's original thread it was a very slow process with some very bad days. Hope you prove to everbody that it can be done. I shall follow the thread with interest. Regards Trademate |

After 17 Days Maria was approx 20% up on her bank, I am currently at 54% so I am not going to beat myself up just yet. I think discipline is key to this system and if I can maintian that and stick to the rules then I might make a few quid. Regardless though I have pledged this bank to this system so I will run it to the end....whatever end that is £0 or a few quid! I appreciate your support though, its much appreciated :) Cheers Toma |

Im not sure what you mean by "do you think it may be worth " keeping " your bets at the price you originally put in ??" The prices I show on my 1pm post are the prices I am matched at they can't change (unless there are non runners etc.)? |

say for e.g youre laying blue kite - its 7.4 back 7.8 lay
you put a lay in at say , 7.4 and " keep " the lay to go in running, if not matched pre off . . or even put in a few ticks lower , or do you have your own price and thats that ? thanks |

Sorry Zealot, I am with you now. For the purposes of my version and proofing of the system(which can be seen at http://www.tipstar.co.uk/forums/post/89/#postid_89) I make sure I am matched. Couple of reasons why:-
1. Maria is taking a huge amount of stick because she never showed her matched prices until after racing. If my selection isn't matched by 1pm then you guys never even see it! 2. I ave my own idea of what is a decent price and I want matched on my selection ASAP. I would hate to put up a correct selection(a loser) but then not get matched for the sake of .2 of a point! However, if I was just doing it for myself then there may be occasions where I fancy a selection to get beat but can't get the price I want. Therefore I would do exactly as you say put it in at the price I want and leave it there all day or maybe even KEEP it for in running matching. But I am sure you can imagine the uproar doing that would produce on here...."NO WAY YOU COULD HAVE BEEN MATCHED ON THAT AT THAT PRICE etc etc." I just want the easy life mate, sticking to Maria rules by the book (only difference is I am showing my matched prices at 1pm) :) Good Luck |

Oh no is this my first Stewards Enquiry.....sorry about that mate. I have no idea why that would be, all I can say is I posted it about 12:30pm today and I could see it at that point. Like I say my afternoon has been disrupted by visitors and I haven't been on their again until now!

Thanks Jonny...yep still a few to get past today but pleased so far. Again, I am going to swerve the evening meetings tonight. I have picked out a few but they are bigger prices to lay than I wanted and there doesn't seem to be much money around yet either for the evening meetings. I am sure that will change as we get more into the summer racing.
But I am going to cal it a day after the 17:35 today and start looking towards a hectic bank holiday weekend! Good luck! |

Just read this thread. I also dabbled with Maria's Staking plan a couple of years ago with mixed results. Of course if you are successful with this plan now there is one huge stumbling block further down the road called the Premium Charge. Betfair don't like winners. Wonder how Maria's system would have performed for her since the goalposts have been moved. Good luck though Toma, looks to be going well so far.

Cheers Cobra, I hear what you are saying and that (HOPEFULLY!) will be a problem we will have to overcome in the future and we will deal with that as and when it happens. If it does happen I will take off any premium charges applied to the figures (same as I take off 5% commission).
