Yep her original posts (allegedly) converted £3k to £100k. I have always believed this to be true but I have been intrigued to hear some of the comments on here! |

by chance i found that maria thread a few weeks back and started aplying the staking plan on the dogs. I am keeping the same original stake(assuming i dont lose it) and banking as i go along but still increasing stakes as per her thread. Rather a good start (you can see the results on the win/lost thread) but will not be posting the bets before the off. The obvious point is to lay any losers at the shortest price you can but as has been said if you lay a 5/2 shot at 10.0 you will lose in the long run. With the greyhounds this happens all the time. Day 3 start bank 1000 BANKED £217.07 STRIKE RATE 27/28=96% the one loss was on day one when i layed a 5/2 shot that drifted like a barge and i layed at 7.2. that was a mistake. i am off to look at your thread toma thanks |

Strike rate is not important in the way that most people think it is. Overround is important. Everything else can proceed from that. |

Hi JonnyG, pleased you found it and yep not doing it again until Monday. I knew I wouldn't have the time this morning and would be out all day today (at the match) and tomorrow recovering and watching my son play in a tennis tournament!

The fact alone that this maria thingy evolves around staking at artifical and unobtainable odds really sums it up for me,.... Just my thoughts. No one makes 100k in a few months with 3000k of funds,.... thats just nonsensical,... i mean totaly,.... |

The problem is she wasnt even matched at some of the prices she posts. when its pointed out to her she says dont take the thread to literally. I got some matched at 12.5 some at 11 but for purposes of thread just put 10.00 or something like that anyway. Then she points out to give her some leeway because she is using 5% commission when her real commission is 2%. Fair enough but then she points out that shes also laying higher priced horses that shes not mentioning on the thread. So how do we know what the results there were. For all we know shes laying 30-40 horses and only posting 20 on the thread to fit the figures the rest may be losers for all we know.

Hi Guys , i have just started to look at this thread as i always stick to the horse racing one . I have noticed quite a lot of banter on the Maria laying system and would like to add something that may or may not be important . I have been part of the Massey websight for quite sometime now and remember this at the time , did you know that many people did and still do think that Maria is Massey himself.

When i look at the threads and how the replys are worded by Maria it all loks a bit to exact , many of my friend are extremley well edgucated and have all said even they would find it hard to word the replies in such english grammer as she does.
perhaps we are all taken in by the fact that massey has no imput only his stats , but would you have such a good websight and not have a little bit more input. Sorry in advance for my poor spelling unfortunatley i was not well edgucated. |

So certainly from my first14 days doing this your 90% figure seems a bit wide of the mark? Don't get me wrong I have laid selections at 8 that have gone off at 5/2 (Night in Milan is an example) but I am sure that Maria had examples of this also. |

There would have been a Rule 4 to reduce the SP where the non runners were , but that is still a very good set of bets you have , but very hard to sustain over hundreds of bets .

i think that Maria did it (or didn't, whatever...) thanks to long term approach and discipline... so just keep to it :) and btw, do you know anything about greeyhounds racing, or do you just pick it quite "randomly" looking at general past results and form, and "just" pick ur lays according to Maria's 3 ranges? I might give it a go in 2-3 weeks, but i dont know anything in horses/dogs racing... |
