Well I've just loaded my bets for Catterick.Just two bets on each horse under 9/1.Took me 25 mins.
I've got 68 unmatched bets now.I'll monitor them throughout the day and load more if and when any are taken.
I feel like I'm going over old ground really.10 ticks below is quite a drop, and in my experience I'll get the vast majority of matches in the last 10 mins before the "off".
I'll post up here any that get matched as they happen.
I have a sad life really,lol

If a horse is withdrawn,I'll have to load em all again for that race, doh !

BTO, A couple of questions if you dont mind answering. When you said earlier 1% of bank max per horse do you mean 1% per price lay ie poss. 5 times per horse or is it 1% divided by 5 poss. lays per horse.
Also what do you do if say 1 horse gets matched maybe 4 or5 times but none of the other horses are matched. Just let it ride or try to reduce your liability at lower odds to reduce the hit?
Thanks.

max of 1% per lay, so the worst exposure is 5%.
If that worries you, go for a total possible of 1%.
If you have discipline problems always go for the lower.
I'm able to control a max total of 5% because my bets all run while I snooze.
I mean control discipline.
If only one horse gets matched let it ride - definitely.
DO NOT trade out even if possible, because your greater exposure will end up being on horses where you have a distinct price disadvantage.

Nothing matched as yet.Betfair crashing dint help.
A non runner in the 1.50 means all unmatched are cancelled,so I'll have to reload those now.

think the way to do this mate is to cover your balance up and check it every month --cos if all your hard weeks work is lost after a few steamers go in, in one day , it will cause you to do something else .
By:

When: 15 Dec 09 12:06
I'll give it a fair crack. It's not too far off what I was doing before, and although I was only break even,I stuck at it for a few months.
BTO has stated that 10 ticks below is break even, and I agree,so maybe he's right about this.

Guys can I just step in here to say I have thoroughly researched this with a database and used it for more than two years solidly.
I don't believe in leading people astray and don't believe in conning people.
I wouldn't post some fantasy idea, it would be pointless except for some sick kind of amusement.
However, there will be times you question it, you just can't help it when three days running ALL the jolly's come in, especially when that's your greatest exposure.
But if you stick to the rules without deviation, I can guarantee it works.
The idea of not checking your balance is not far from what I do to control both elation and grave disappointment.
I take a peek after all races have been run.
That's about it.
The advice given is genuine, but know that there will be tough times.
Even bookies sweat sometimes.

what sort of starting bank would you recommend ?

I apologise if it seems I'm questioning you.You have kindly given us something, and I'm prepared to try it out, largely because of the similarities to what I do (did). If I do lose,no worries,it's entertainment if nothing else.

No no, I wasn't having a go at all,
I just wanted you to know what to expect.
When I started this it was all chocolates, I hit a purple patch, and then the darkness came.
But after learning one lesson, I bounced back and it is a solid earner.
I do notice a lot of people posting ideas, and that's great if they are just testing, but it seems that some people follow what they do and it hasn't been properly researched.
Just letting you know I put a lot of effort into it, and your 10 ticks is spot on.

Brian I can't advise starting bank, it's got to be what you're comfortable with.
If you use a bot you can start with a tiny bank.
I wouldn't recommend starting with a big bank to anyone starting out, not until it's proven itself to you over months.
You have to have confidence in it.
But if you stick to the percentages and advised staking, you'll be fine.
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 15 Dec 09 12:50
Exactly the same happened to me.First month was unbelievably good.2nd month unbelievably bad.Since then I've been tweaking this and that, and going around in circles.I was never sure how many ticks to play at,but now I know,so I thank you for that.I was never sure if I should go in again with more bets.Whenevr I did,I got stung it seemed,so never really gave it a proper run.
I know to expect good runs and bad runs, and I'm only playing small stakes. It's not like I'm gonna lose my house on this.
By:
Glasgow Brian
When: 15 Dec 09 12:54
thanks beat -
only got five hundred to play around with , probably a bit small as laying below 2 quid would take for ever , aint got no bot .
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 15 Dec 09 13:03
With a £500 bank,£2 unit stakes is fine Brian.I'd be amazed if you went skint sticking to £2's.
I used to lay the naps table using the same stakes, never came close to going bust, and that was doing 52 lays a day

Are you up or down so far today, anyone ?
By:
Glasgow Brian
When: 15 Dec 09 13:20
tame --wouldnt i have to have each payout at 16 pound then ?
cos if one was 9/1 in the morning my first lay would be 7/1 , would that mean on every horse at every lay my payout would be 16 pound ?
thanks
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 15 Dec 09 13:30
Yes Brian you would.Obviously that means on a 5/2 chance, laying at 3.0,you would be taking a bet of £5.33 for your first bet
When I layed the naps I'd lay 10 bets on some horses(£20) and only £2 on others.A £500 is enough.

By:

When: 15 Dec 09 13:41
To be honest I'm just taking £2 bets at each price. My bank is smaller than yours.I'm wondering now if that will affect the profitability.

no mate --just following it , just a bit hectic now with crimbo comin -kids n all that --gonna give it a blast though in the near future .
How've you done today ?
By:

When: 15 Dec 09 13:59
tame --taking 2 pound at each price is the wrong method mate ,
your PAYOUT needs to be the same for every runner at every price for it to be fully effective
