Surprised so many people are talking about Klopp.
Not that he isn't the best choice, but I can't believe he would consider it. I think he loved Liverpool, not England, which is the norm for people from there. Also I remember him at a press conference talking about how crap like the Nation's league was clogging up the fixture list. About 80% of international football is shyte like Nation's league friendlies , qualifiers vs Andorra etc He would be bored to death. |

Assume Howe is their main target but would he leave club football?
Klopp is a romantic and loved the idea of bringing success back to Liverpool. Can definitely see him tempted to do the same for England and get paid huge amounts for it Probably the value given he is available now too |

Of course Klopp is unlikely, but that doesn't mean you don't at least try to tempt the best available. He can only say no.
If we are talking 'can't believe' then I can't believe Lampard has been suggested. Next someone will be mentioning Gary Neville. |

Lampard ticks all the same boxes as Southgate.
The biggest factor is who in the list would be likely to take the job. And Lampard would take it for half the money Southgate was on. So would Carsley and Potter, though they might have the 'show us your medals' problem. Klopp seems poor value to me as - even if it was reported that the FA were phoning him now to offer the job - i think he'd be 20/1 to accept it. Eddie Howe I think would like to stay at Newcastle, but would consider England if he felt he was on thin ice at the club. Poch and Tuchel might consider it on a 2 year basis, but perhaps more likely to wait for vacancies such as Man United. And the FA tend to have long term plans so someone who fits in with all that stuff would be preferable to them. I think people have not appreciated the extent to which the prestige of the England job has declined last 15 years or so. People amazed that Southgate was on £5M a year, but Sven was getting £4.5M twenty years ago. Capello was on £6M in 2010. Pep is getting £19.5. So by all means ask Klopp or Pep, but the probability is a never won a trophy Englishman. |

Southgate was hired for being woke. Wiegman would be woke on steroids - a wind up surely. It has to be a manager who has won things in the MEN'S game to command any respect. You can't expect players who are coached by legendary managers like Pep & Don Carlo to then respect shyte trophy-less coonts like woke Gareth. Even his name sounds woke ffs! |

Look at what I said after I suggested Wiegman.
Tuchel would be great. A great cup manager who can still be effective in attack. Was 1-0 up in the bernebeu 2nd leg til Neuer f'd up with a poor Bayern and won with Chelsea against City. Only manager to get PSG near to the golden chalice too. Give him a big contract for 2 years for the WC. Losers like Potter and Howe? Do you want to win? |

for god sake not Lampard. He was a good footballer, not a manager. He'd be a worse manager than Mr Southgate. He's all talk, no substance.

Southgate was the same and look what he done with England... where proven winning managers, like Capello for example, previously failed.
I do believe that in the event Lampard was given the role, he'd gain the respect of Bellingham, which is a huge plus to begin with. International football is clearly a different ball game, meaning that anyone could fit the role... even Southgate, our most successful manager since the 60's. Who'd have thunk it? |

southgate /ENG have 4 leadership players,brilliant till 2 of them are the ones been talked/debated about klane and jude,i imagine maguire is another but wasnt in squad,you if you think your on the outside looking in,who,s left for you togo to to complain/? kanes,judes roles in the team

I meant a different take on International Football. Otherwise it's like teaching a grandmother how to suck eggs will not do with them, and rightly so. I think now is the right time to appoint a proven foreign coach at club level with a winning mentality.

That Klopp statement is said to have come from a Sky correspondent so why are the Sky odds no bigger than 12/1 if it's no chance of happening? Bet 365 actually cut their odds three times today.
