Happy New Year to you to GH.
Yes fair comment. I would have kept GCB and can't understand why the board thought this an improvement. But he's doing okay so far although I thought his late substitution of Sands for Tillman cost us victory in the game. (allowed McGregor the freedom to get forward) I certainly wont write him off just yet though but he must win the Scottish cup at least or he'll be off lol. |

Was reported earlier this week that Todd Cantwell
was on his way to Ibrox for a medical but haven't heard anything since. Paper talk? Glad to hear Beale say that he'll be talking to both Kent and Morelos about new contracts. |

Just announced.
Rangers have signed midfielder Todd Cantwell from Norwich City on what the Ibrox club says is "a long-term deal". The 24-year-old came through the academy at Carrow Road but has fallen out of favour with new boss David Wagner, who was appointed this month. Cantwell has played 45 times in the Premier League during his time at Norwich and has had loan spells with Bournemouth and Fortuna Sittard. "I am delighted and I feel very proud," Cantwell told Rangers TV. "This is obviously a massive football club and I am delighted to get started. "They want to see a player that works hard and can win them games and that is something I am hoping I can bring." |

Rangers v Partick Thistle in the last 16 of the Scottish cup.
Good to get a home draw for a change. |
|
By:
Thistle must be delighted to have gotten a team on the way down. Imagine if they;d gotten the rough end of the draw and copped Darvel away!

Scottish football at it's best.
Chris Sutton had tweeted in praise of Todd Cantwell. As soon as he signed for Rangers Sutton deleted the tweet. I wonder why. Actually I don't. |

Nicolas Raskin’s move to Rangers will be 'finalised in the coming hours', according to reports.
Reports on Tuesday morning suggested that the Belgium Under-21 internationalist had completed a medical in London on Saturday ahead of finalising a move to Ibrox this week. 21 yo and highly rated central midfielder. A good addition to the squad. Reports that a third signing is imminent. Better players on the park than leaving the money in the bank. |

A glimpse of one of Rangers greatest players on his birthday (79). Wee Willie Henderson. |
|
By:
I sat in the company of Wee Willie and Jimmy Millar at a dinner one night. Different people but great company both.
Jimmy a great example of how even players themselves, let alone mangers, are unware of their best playing role. Wing half, shoved up front on a U.S.A. tour because of injured forwards and he never looked back. Goals, goals, goals! |

Met Wee Willie on a couple of occasions
Talked more about boxing than football. Came across this Honcho, had you heard this? Wonder if the Jags fans will sing it at Ibrox? Used to love my trips to Firhill although the last time I was there was against Clyde. https://twitter.com/i/status/1617476739088932870 |

slightly surreal....
Castore and Rangers F.C are today thrilled to launch an exciting collaboration with the legendary rock and roll band, AC/DC. The collection features the Rangers crest and the iconic AC/DC lightning bolt logo throughout. Grammy winning AC/DC are widely considered as one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time, selling out arena and stadium tours worldwide, and whose most recent studio album Power Up topped the charts in 21 countries in 2020. |

Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, who founded the band, are
weegies and apparently lifelong Rangers supporters. |

By:
You have to laugh. Fergie had Howard Webb, Rangers have Willie Collum. It is pathetic how history keeps reinventing itself. Even VAR can be manipulated or ignored or simply interpreted as the referee sees fit, to help them across the line.

Honcho obsessed with the Rangers.
Can't blame him though as we are the worlds most successful football team with 117 major trophies. |
|

Another clean sheet yester day and but for the heroics of the Saints keeper could have been by a much wider margin.
Good to see VAR doing its job and between it and the ref managing to get all the big decisions right. Was great to see Janis Hagi back to the fold, like a new signing for Beale. |
|

Cheers honcho.

Mark Reynolds, football pundit, claiming Ryan Jack tackle should have resulted in a penalty to St Johnstone as it was clearly in the box. He wasn't at the game but saw it on tv. he was partly right but it was in the St Johnstone penalty box. Not paranoid, no way. |

Nicolas Raskin has signed, subject to a work permit being granted, on a
four and a half year deal from Standard Liege. Good signing. |

Got home just after the the start no no game thread.
Rangers 3 v 2 Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup. What a game, had everything. Firhill for thrills came to Ibrox and Thistle lived up to their Maryhill Magyars nickname. A missed penalty Rangers) and a scored penalty (Thistle), both harsh decisions. Rangers go 2-1 ahead thanks to a controversial goal and Michael Beale instructs the Rangers players to let Thistle walk up the park from the restart for the equaliser. Brave thing to do as Thistle were well in this. Rangers got their winner in the 86th minute . I'd imagine Beale was a very relieved man. |

Irishone, Rangers died that's how successful they were.
Sevco had done not bad one won scottish top league title and a scottish cup in 10 years, may consider themselves a wee bit unlucky not to win Europa league, not sure they managed Irn Bru cup, might be wrong on that. |

Good and well desereved 3-0 victory away to Livingston today.
Tavernier opened the scoring from the penalty spot before adding a second from one of his trademark free-kicks. Roofe ended the scoring with a shot from close in. Good overall performance but Nicolas Raskin (22 on Thursday) stood out and already is looking an astute buy. |
|

I would add a c to that badjoe.
Rangers to be reported to FIFA for "non-trying" during an Association Cup tie and allowing an opposition player to walk the ball into their net unchallenged and without putting up resistance. They surrendered. |

i believe you deserve a spot there Akabuliar
As the only idiot stupid enough to start a thread about a football club that he says he supports but has never been to watch. |

McGregor has been a superb servant to Rangers if on occasion a divisive one. Who can forget him and Barry Ferguson taking no pains whatsoever, whilst sitting in the stand, to stick the vickys up to the Rangers management and ultimately the club. The other two have been good servants and have at least played for sides which were untainted by phoney wages, tax avoidance and bogus bonus deals. Or have they?
