That sounds to me like the interview went very badly.
I always expected him to shorten around the time of the interview - he's available and au courant but as the Sunderland journo said, they will also wait to see what applications from real names they get and I reckon they will interview a few other candidates as well - maybe Mclaren, Curbishley, Hoddle etc. |

He was **** for Sunderland as a player. Its one of the few people that have been mentioned that I could actually see happening though.

Hi MC :-) Yea .. he wasn't the best as a player at Sunderland .. but it was quite early into his career & he scored a few a Rangers. I just think he's got an infectious personality & I think the players & the fans would take to him & it could be onwards & upwards :-) Hiya Akabula :-) Yea .. it WOULD be a wrench for him pal .. but it's the English Premier League & that's quite a draw. Ally McCoist would walk down from Glasgow to manage Sunderland, his kids still live in Sunderland and he is a regular visitor to our games when it doesn't clash with Rangers games.
Unfortunately for him though, there in zero chance of him getting the job. |

Based on absolutely nothing but a gut feeling, I don't believe Poyet will get it. In the past when we've sacked managers a new man has been in place within a few days and with Poyet already been interviewed and now going talking to the media about it, I don't think he's going to get it.
