Anyone got the slightest clue who gets this job? I don't fancy Di Matteo much, after all they've just got rid of one Di, I can't seem them appointing another. I reckon Lady Di has more chance.
I reckon they will appoint someone steady and safe, English and well known. But I reckon it could be someone a little bit left-field. I've got a few names on my list but I don't really have any strong reasons to think any of them might be in line to get the job. |

some one is laying dimateo at 4, looks like a nice price

Di Matteo's price probably slipping on account of the stories that he wouldn't be interested in taking the Sunderland job, thinking he'd be on a hiding to nothing.
Regardless of whether Di Canio was too much of a disciplinarian, it does sound like those players have quite a few issues with attitude. And with 14 newbies to integrate (most of pretty dubious quality), that job's hardly shouting out 'Take Me Now!' I'd be very surprised to see Di Matteo or Poyet take it. Unc Tony seems a decent shout though, since he'd be a good steadying influence - something of an Anti-Canio. Still wouldn't fancy his chances of success though. I can see Norwich and Palace struggling. Those teams aside, though, I'm not sure there's much there that Sunderland can beat. |

Lordbobbin....if Poyet was offered the job he'd walk here,he's desperate to get into the Premier and unlike Reading last year he has enough time to affect things.
|
|
By:
If he had to walk there, by the time he arrived he wouldn't have enough of the season left to affect things though.

The local newspaper the Sunderland Echo is claiming in today's edition that the new manager will be a "young, up and coming, tracksuit head coach", this rules the likes of Pulis, McCleish etc out.

Zola 66/1 into 8/1 and has told SSN that he is "flattered" to be linked with Sunderland.
|
|
By:
Told them also that he is happy at Watford and he won't be able to get loan players like the ones at Watford, so No Thanks

Zola always struck me as the type of manager who appears to be a soft touch, our bunch of coward players will love that.

Well there was big rumours before we got Di Canio that Poyet was Ellis Short's 1st choice but would have meant paying compensation to Brighton.
