Martin Atkinson the well known red is the ref

True odds should be 3.5 but having this clown reffing is as good as letting the RS play with 13 men

Beware

The Atkinson factor could work either way - ie this fact will be mention all day on Sky and a red to Newcastle today and an apoplectic Fergie could see Atko reffing Macclesfield v Matlock next season - price on the scouse gits all depends on whether the Far East money keeps coming - there's only currently about £30k to be traded at this price, if thats it then the price could bomb, whereas if they keep topping it up it may be around the SP

The odds dont stack up here. Newcastle are 3.5 to win and yet Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba are both trading around 3.0 to score!

These odds do not make any sense. How can Liverpool possibly be favourites against a side that are above them in the league and enjoy home advantage?

Is it Christmas already?

Would a couple of Newc players really be dumb enough to take big money to help throw a game? If this were an Italian top flight game of the same stature, and the heavily backed team were to win, imagine all the "corrupt League etc" quotes that would crop up on this forum. The prices are just crazy.

So williamson at cb, simpson or perch along side him. Who's the other defender? 3-4-3? or is tiote playing in the d line or will gutierrez play fullback

I think (whether it wins or not) that Liverpool HT at 3's is a great lay.
Current away record at half-time 15 played/3 wins/8 draws/4 losses scored 6 conceded 6,  8/16/6 if you include their home record too.  This is awful compared to newcastle, 11/12/7 overall and at home 6/5/4.  This makes 2/1 look an awful price as Liverpools win rate was 3/15 and newcastles lose rate is 4/15.  Away losses were to Bolton, City, Stoke and Tottenham, drew at half-time at home to Newcastle.  Looks a solid bet to me but will probably trade it in match if Liverpool look too strong or trade out slowly when price hits 4 and upwards.

Liverpool are probably a little bit short, but not too far from representative of the actual probabilities of each of the 3 possible outcomes. Liverpool are a better team that have just had a bad season. Newcastle have overachieved this season and have had some really poor performances recently. Norwich (h), Wolves (h), Tottenham (a) , Villa (h), Blackburn (a) , Brighton (h) , Fulham (a) and QPR (h) were all pretty shabby imo.

This ref has sent of three opposition players this season when refereeing Liverpool games, would you fancy Newcastle with 10 men? Not me.

Zzzorro. I really do not consider that to be a significant factor. If anything, it'll work in Newcastle's favour because he's probably so nervous about his integrity being scrutinised.

I actually trust him to not all allow that statistic to affect his judgement. I don't think he'd be in that position if he was biased.

Plain facts say a home side in good form against an away side with poor form shouldnt be that price , esp when you think adam is missing .

There is no logical reason for these odds
By:

Hello. The logic is that Liverpool are a better team that have underachieved and Newcastle have overachieved.

Rowan86 it's your opinion that Newcastle have overachieved, it is not a fact. It could be that Newcastle are a better side than Liverpool, they have bought wisely in the transfer market and have picked up quite a few bargains it seems. Liverpool have paid over the odds for many players.

And please stop pressing the post reply button over and over again...thanks.
