Mirror:
Bruce is due to meet Wolves' owner Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey in London on Friday. Daily Mirror: Bruce had an interview on Thursday, 24 hours after Curbishley. LOL |

Daily Mail that is. Anywho papers making out to be a head to head Bruce v Curbs battle. Bruce at 5's seems worth a bet.

According to a guy called Andy Maxey - check him out - he worked at Birmingham under Bruce as Press Officer and followed him to Wigan and Sunderland !!!!!!!!!!! Bruce has been interviewed and is waiting to hear....
His proximity to Wolves - he still owns a property in Knowle (Birmingham) and his proven skills at getting sides out of relegation danger - Birmingham 2003 ; Wigan 2007 have made him Morgans favourite.......the big negative with Curbishley is his time away from the game and the fact he has "no team" in place... Bruce has a "team" that followed him from Birmingham to Wigan to Sunderland e.g Eric Black etc..... BRUCE on Monday is my hunch! |

!!!!!!!!!! the son's tweets were erratic and overall painted the picture Curbishley wasn't nailed on. He tweeted first he thought his dad didn't want it, and then later said he wanted it but he didn't seem to confident after the meeting. Guy could easily be playing games or just not have a clue himself. The comments he did make within a day or two contradict each other anyways.
Got a feeling Wolves have a couple names in mind (younger managers) they want to get but would like to do so at the start of next season. Maybe just want to rent an older manager to get the job done this season. Of course if the two obvious don't work out then perhaps they'll just throw in the up and comer they like. Reading all kinds of names, could go a million directions if its not Curbs or Bruce. |

By:
can't imagine any wolves fan will be happy if they've dumped mccarthy for bruce
|
|
By:
Eric Black is at Blackburn now.
Do you ever get anything correct wally? |
|
By:
There are more than the 3 names mentioned in the media in contention.
Curbs is desperate for it. Bruce's demands stunned wolves. |
|
By:
Im reliably informed bruce is not in the running.
MW you posted that a few days ago. Apparently still got an interview, no? Agree more names are involved, not sure what's happening with Curbishley. I assume he wants it as you say and they could get him for a reasonable price. On paper everything seems to fit but maybe the interview simply didn't work out. |
|

@BBCSport
Alan Curbishley, Neil Warnock & Steve Bruce all interviewed by Wolves. Others possibles include Gordon Strachan, Walter Smith & Paul Ince. Smith or Strachan for the rest of the season I could see possible but I think they're just guessing now. |
|

seems odd to fire mccarthy without having a scooby who they want to replace him

Id be disappointed if our entire candidate list was made up of out of work Managers
I find it strange that if it is one of the '3' (or other out of work candidates), that we havent got it done and dusted by now. Hoping for an approach to an employed candidate after the weekends matches (No knowledge of this ..just hoping) For info have backed Holloway on that basis of 'logic'. That theory may be blown out of the water very quickly obviously |

Warnock just matched @3.5

Yep, I'll be in there on Monday.

mighty whites....
I have forgotten more about midlands football than you will ever know! Eric Black as was initially Mark Bowen is a trusted lieutenant of Bruce and is not happy at Blackburn! |
|
By:
Eric Black is Steve Bruces assistant however him and Bowen will never work together again after Bowen stabbed him in the back.
|
|
By:
Bilko....I TOTALLY AGREE.....Black will NEVER work for Bruce again....
However, the facts are that it was not Bruce who stabbed Bowen in the back but Karren Brady who stabbed Bruce in the back therefore tarnishing his relationship with Bowen. Bowen was due to revised contract and Bruce told him he would handle it for him......Bruce was due to meet Brady to finalise it but Bowen went behind Bruce's back and started harassing Brady to do a deal....Brady took offence and sacked Bowen without talking to Bruce.......Bruce did NOT back Bowen and hence the rift.... Bruce then bought in Black.....when Bruce left Birmingham - Black assumed caretaker managerial role at Birmingham for one game - a defeat at home to Portsmouth courtesy of a howler by Richard Kingston in goal whom Black had given a debut to in preference to Maik Taylor and Colin Doyle......that sealed Blacks fate... IF Bruce goes to WWFC and Andy Maxey his trusted PR/Media Man is lined up to move with Bruce - then Black will not be far behind..... |

if its till season end then reviewed..Walter could be a decent call
|
|
By:
If it not AC or NW then it must be SB for the job cant see anyone else who would be willing to take the job or has the experience. Wolves however will not be happy with decision a bit like Aston Villa. Glad i layed AC as i quoted some days ago he wouldnt get the job as hes been out of the game far to long.

By:
Yes. I wonder why he has been out so long when he was supposedly interviewed for the England job last time.

I would give Graham Taylor the job

this market definitely showing why backing managers is for MUGS

Share In with a shout: But Bruce wants longer deal Steve Bruce has turned down Wolves' offer to take charge of the club's battle against relegation because they are only offering the job for the remaining 13 games of the season. Bruce, out of work since being sacked by Sunderland in November, stunned Wolves boss Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey by saying a temporary manager would not be able to save the club from the drop because the players would not respond to anyone who might only be at the club for three months. The club, who sacked Mick McCarthy last Monday, now have to decide whether to return to No 1 target Bruce with the offer of a two-and-a-half-year deal or stick to their original plan of recruiting someone short term. Former West Ham and Charlton boss Alan Curbishley is believed to be open to the 'trial' suggestion as he attempts to rebuild his reputation after spending more than three years out of the game. Wolves had wanted to make an appointment before their next match, against Newcastle, on Saturday. According to a guy off the Express and Star, Bruce hasnt turned it down, the Curbs interest has cooled for reasons unclear and the club are totally adamant they are NOT offering a deal for 13 games only
|

By:
seems like wolves have got themselves in a real pickle here. got rid of mccarthy without any guarantee they could find someone even half decent to replace him.
|
|
By:
In my opinion Curbishley is decent, and they should be moving heaven and earth to get the best guy available, and for me thats him.
|
|
By:
absolutely. he wants it (doesn't he ?) and head and shoulders above any of the others in the frame if you ask me.
you'd look ridiculous if you end up with bruce, a move i'm assuming would be go down like a lead balloon with wolves supporters |
