Haven't read the thread so sorry if already mentioned but if you're looking for ex-players who have got a reasonable track record then surprised no Darren Ferguson in the market..

Darren Ferguson a good outside punt if he can bring 3 or 4 Man Utd loanees with him.

no use this season - loans only available for non prem league

Feck him then if he can't bring Berbatov.

and i think prem clubs can only loan 2 players from premiership clubs as well - although it may come in handy for them next year

Well looking at a green board now, still just pennies on the non-Curb side though.  Easy market for once.

I was referring to Wolves fans, not Betfair punters!

Why do you say that Jason?  As per my post at the end of the previous page, I think the noises coming from the club lead to it being quite a shortlist of realistic candidates.  Not a shortlist *I* would go for it must be said!

Whats this talk of Bruce having a meeting with Wolves this morning?  Apparently offer to finish out the season and Bruce asking for a lot plus extra's for keeping them up.  Anybody else hear this?

Forget about Curbs been out of the game for far to long....people will be mentioning keegan next look what happened when he was brought back having been out of the game for so long.
If anyone is a past master it would be Neil warnock.

warnock's never kept a club up in the top division in at least 3 attempts and bruce has spent the last 3 seasons doing his best to get sunderland relegated.

"warnock's never kept a club up in the top division in at least 3 attempts"

Mafeking....I think you're wrong about Warnock in that it's only 2 attempts, and one of them was Notts County who'd just jumped from the 3rd tier to the top in 2 seasons so survival would have been quite an achievement. He's also won 7 promotions, more than any other manager I know of. Not saying he's the man for the job, just trying to look at his record with a degree of accuracy and fairness.

Obviously I haven't counted this season as an attempt.

not having a pop at warnock just saying if you were a chairman wanting someone with a proven track record of keeping teams up he wouldn't be anywhere near your shortlist

I dont think theirs a fella out their who could keep this squad up!

Apparently Warnock is bookies favourite to take over Huddersfield cant see that dropping down 2 division to manager a team. Steve Bruce kept Wigan up twice from relegation. Apparently all 3 bookies favs are getting an interview.

I don't disagree with you on that point Mafeking.
