Benitez lives on the Wirral and stays here because the wife will not move.He knows the Wolves Chairman well (a Liverpool fan) and has to get back in the game soon because he is still paying for a vast number of contacts to keep him up to date.An easy commute from his house... there are worst outsiders....
Thought the Benitez talk was crazy and bizarre. Apparently Benitez has been to a couple Wolves games as a guest of the chairman. Suppose it makes it possible, 20-1 to cover my Curbishley main bet. Also covering my bases with Gus Poyet. |

I've got some reservations about Curbishley. He's never managed a big club before.

Bruce would be hilarious. What price McCarthy to Bolton in the next few weeks ?
The PL strugglers could save a lot of time, money and effort by simply all agreeing to swap managers half way through the season |
|
By:
lol, maybe they could all swap in November and again in February
Bruce would probaly relegate 3 clubs |
|
By:
The chairman wants the new manager in by the end of the week so im not expecting any surprises. Said he wants experience so steve bruce ticks all the boxes.
|
|
By:
Steve Bruce would be an embarrassing choice, Martin oneil has made him look a right fool up at Sunderland, I pity the wolves if they take him on

Curbishley is the front runner now... looks like a done deal?

Would be gutted to see Bruce take charge!
Okay, so reading between the lines of what the board are looking for: 1 - Someone experienced in the top flight 2 - Someone who is out of work, we are looking for a quick appointment 3 - Someone who "fits our DNA" - i.e. someone who doesn't spend money like there's no tomorrow, someone who won't rock the boat, etc. So you can see why the current top 3 in the betting are who they are as they tick those boxes. Rafa would be a great shout, but he's not insane! Of the outsiders who tick those boxes you could probably make a case for Strachan and Smith. Personally, I think you could rule out Warnock as I just can't see him and Moxey rubbing along very well. I'm blinding by my dislike of Bruce being an option, so just can't see beyond Curbishley coming in at least until the end of the season. And given the likes of Keane, Ince, Warnock, Davies and Bruce being alternatives, then Curbs gets my vote!! |
