Jaiswal looks supremely confident/comfortable, arguably the issue with both Iyer and Gill is that they don't quite.

No doubting their ability but unsure of their minds.

Dang 392 in 2 balls!

Absolutely Apt

I would take Jaiswal over both Gill and Iyer and I really rate both but appear atm to have mental frailty

Wonderful stuff from Jaiswal

Some interesting chunks matched on the extremes for India 1st Inns Runs...

India 500 or more £799 @ 2.6

and

550 or more £499 @ 3.5

The boy played a blinder, there. He could be around for the next fifteen years.

England would have taken 336/6 once they had to field first.

Batting fourth won't be fun so India ahead by virtue of winning the toss.

Depends when the pitch starts to spin and if England Baz away at India again. Woeful from India. Hill and Iyer are gawn for the next Test. This looks like a 450 minimum pitch. We shall see when both sides have batted. England on top imho but batting last.

A little nervous now as I am on over 396 and 403

Interesting half hour coming up.

Seems like there is still a little in the pitch but good enough pace to suit England batters but

KPis telling Jaiswal’s story

What a story. I hope this kid can manage the moving ball overseas. He deserves every success. Unbelievable Jeff.

Poor shot lad. No need for that. Anderson was near the end of his spell and now I am sweating on another 20 odd runs. Advantage England but batting last

Poor end for India. Missed out on the 493 but had bet on o395.5 so not all bad. Second time I’ve nicked a bet by 1 run but don’t think over 493.5 was too much to ask for.

Considering the way they go about it, it is nothing but impressive that Crawley & Duckett average more than 48 for the first wicket.

Seriously impressive, in fact.

I 'snoozed' my alarm at 03:12 this morning.

Except it appears I didn't, woke up again at 04:50 Laugh

*Love* how we punish anything remotely loose.

Makes it difficult for opposition bowlers, so much pressure.

Scrambled head.

Then scrambled captain.

And suddenly Australia have seventeen boundary riders in the fifth over of the first innings.

To be fair, it's not dissimilar to what Jaiswal has served up to us so far this series.

Added pressure probably comes from it being both ends, and the knowledge that it will be unrelenting so you have to get it right.

Ball doing a fair bit, especially bounce-wise. SO well set, this!

Easily goes either way but...

~360 deficit, lunch on day two, with ten wickets remaining.

That is a very good beginning after losing toss on this deck Cool

Excellent start by England. Crawley really looking the part. I am not fully convinced by Duckett but pleased he is taking his chance.

Yes Apt, plenty of bounced. Nothing is given atm

Was tempted to go under 372 on England. Think they might have trouble on this pitch with the bounce. That was a poor **** from Duckett, over reaching imho

Commentary is poor! Missed stumping also no mention if Pope was injured himself

I just messed up a little.

Lumped India when they ripped to 1.68...

When it didn't budge downward quickly, persuaded myself it could rocket still further (and I could get out of line quickly).

Shipped it back and watched wicket three deliveries later.

Grrrr!!

Looking back without the panic, it isn't easy to see a rational India price much beyond 1.8, even if we are 100 odd for none.

Ah well.

Only cost me green so at least that's my preferred mistake Grin

1.68 is a good price but a few more overs of Crawley and you might get better!

Crawley maybe been inspired by Jaiswal's sublime knock.

Great stuff from England thus far...

Jeez - turns out he was actually inspired by his dismissal Whoops

Great catch that.

Touch of complacency from Crawley after drinks. Big shame, he'll be kicking himself.

Sheesh, that was unnerving bounce from Bumrah.

At least half a foot higher than 'normal'...

And reversing.

Tiny bets on Crawley top bat and under 358 to hedge my England fandom.

What is a spin bowler like Root doing batting at 4?Laugh His bowling is a big plus in India but he is no longer a good enough batsman to keep his place for that skill. 29, 2 and 5 just not acceptable.

All change in 20 minutes.

When: 03 Feb 24 08:24
Root is Englands best batsman by a country mile. Bumrah came back specifically for him. Pope did not look convincing today.

Change was coming. It’s a lifetime since Crawley hit Bumrah for 4 fours in an over.
By:
Aptdemon
When: 03 Feb 24 09:44
Masterclass from Bumrah and Kuldeep.

What depth India have in the spin department for Kuldeep to be their fourth cab off the rank. Gosh.
