My family and I went on the ferry last summer. We were up on deck the whole way because it was warm and dry and from the moment we left harbour...we didn't see even a drop of water. All obscured by blow up boats. My two young girls were disappointed. |

I would agree with that Apt but India really threw it away. They were everything England were not.
They did, and they were...but Stokes and his crew make this all look so easy. You can't bottle the self-belief he clearly exudes and, moreover, instils. We need to cherish this era, it will be over before we know it and there will not be a replacement. Hopefully the magic'll take a wee bit of time to wear off, but as the personnel slowly rotate out so will its effects dim. It'll become the stuff of legend...but it won't see us playing unprecedented cricket, or win us any matches. |

Yep I agree with that too but India got complacent. 5 men caught on the boundary, 3 men out in the 80’s, Indian spinners flummoxed, Rohit M.I.A. Pope dropped on 110 was the hinge of battle BUT you are quite right.

A pretty good day for Test cricket yesterday. I am pretty sure everybody will be pleased for Test Cricket after West Indies win at The Gabba yesterday. Their first Test win on Australian soil since 1997 and the unearthing of a new fast bowling prospect. |

India on the ropes here but if they do not mangle the England attack they are in big trouble. I cannot see this being fixed 0-2 ending 3-2. A real chance for England if they bat well. That could be the hinge of the battle, how well England bat. You would expect even a second string batting line up to make runs against our attack

This is clearly a good day one batting deck, but boy does India's batting line-up look vulnerable.
Long tail (Bumrah in at 9). Axar/Ashwin/Bharat 6,7,8 (all capable but none guaranteed). Gill/Iyer/debutant (all very capable but none guaranteed). Not sure I've much of a point, here. |

Great toss to win. Have to fancy India but they still look shell shocked. Gill playing for his place today. So is Iyer. Kohli and Rahul will be back. Great to see a Test! Too early to call but you would not bet against India. I like the kid. The pitch will spin. |

True Apt very true but on their day they are all capable and are batting first.
Have not seen much of Jaiswal but he looks very good and both Gill and Iyer are good enough but question marks over both for me. |

and poor from Gill. Personally I would have liked to have a look at Safraz Khan. I still think Iyer is a fine batsman in India but vulnerable against pace and it is all in the head. He has the talent
